4-13-2012   The group tonight consisted of 14 members, some new to this group and a few absentees.  The group determined the overall vision of the group to be "The Election 2012 Team will seek to increase voter registration and ensure the integrity of the voting process for the 2012 election", and the Mission Statement to be "The Election 2012 Team will focus it's energy on the following key areas: GOTV/voter registration, poll watching, and voter fraud".   At next week's meeting we will begin prioritizing tasks to reach our goals.

A question was asked as to how can we ensure the people we are assisting to register and vote are likeminded (conservative).  Debbie Gonzalez explained a method being used by "Americans for Prosperity" to compile lists of people who are "probably" likeminded.  When completed these lists will be available to us as we decide on actions to focus on.  This information will be valuable because it's quite complicated what questions can be asked while registering voters.  The government would be happy to find a reason to deny FCTP the 501c4 status we've applied for!

I've been reading a fantastic book called "Deep Survival; Who Lives, Who Dies, and Why".  Survivors go through stages in which they come to grips with their changing reality, the early stages being denial and anger.  I'm seeing us as being in a survival situation, in denial that we're really going to lose our freedoms, and beginning to get angry.  We need to get more angry, because anger displaces inertia, and we need to become afraid, because the energy of fear feeds action.  Next week we'll formulate some action steps, some things to do, which will help us focus and help us survive!

Hi Jeanne,

Sounds great, I'm sorry I missed Fridays' meeting as well but I will be there next time and ready to work on our goals..if Valerie Jarret can head up registration drive at a church in Atlanta so can we.

Registering people to vote specifically prohibits questions used to determine affiliation. The goal is to register voters period. I would advise against registration drives as the current rules carry onerous burdens and stiff fines.

RYAN NICHOLS - Hardened Criminal?? Seriously??

If you're not already aware. This is what's going on in DC while dangerous criminals are allowed back out on the streets.  It's horrifying that this is happening to our citizens and veterans for protesting the hijacking of our election process. This is still happening! They are STILL being tortured and treated like full on terrorists.

You may not be aware of the typical things they're forced to go through...…
