As some of you already know, an indoor gun range is trying to open on Penman Road. The Jax Beach Planning Commission will hear and decide whether they will approve the conditional use application on January 14 at their meeting. As you might expect, there is a good deal of opposition. There is no legal basis for the Planning Commission to deny the application, however, we know what a touchy subject guns are right now and the Commission is receiving considerable pressure from the opposition. We believe that having a gun range will make our community more safe, not less, by promoting gun safety, training and education. We don't know yet whether citizens will be able to speak at the meeting, but if the opportunity is presented we need people who can articulate their support to counter the opposition. We would like to have at least 50 supporters present.

So, if you or someone you know lives at the Beaches and is in favor of having a gun range here, we need two things from all of you who can spare an extra minute or two:
1. Please call and/or email the Commission conveying your support for the range.
