Eye of the Tiger: The GOP and the Tea Party

In the movie, Rocky III, Eye of the Tiger was the title song.  This song came to mind as I read about another sucker punch to the Constitution by our President.   Once again, he is ignoring the rule of law and stomping on the Constitution because he wants to win the fight between Socialism and a government of We the People.

In Heritage’s Morning Bell yesterday, it stated:  “Last week, President Barack Obama took the latest step on his road toward an arrogant, new authoritarianism with four illegal appointments that entirely trampled on the Constitution's requirements. More troubling still, the President chose to shred the Constitution all in the name of serving his Big Labor agenda while killing jobs in the process.”  Read the entire report here:  Overstepping his Authority

I was not alone in my thoughts of an out of control President.  Here was Heritage speaking what many of us in the tea party movement were feeling.  Sometimes we feel as if we are the audience watching a fight in the ring.  We have surrounded the ring yelling for our guys on the right.  The left has their bully beating them up right before our eyes and he just keeps coming at them one punch at a time.

We are in the audience, screaming.  We are standing to our feet.  We are yelling at the referee do something and make sure the left is playing fair.  The left isn’t playing fair.  They are dirty.  They cheat.  They lie.  They ignore the rules. They will do anything they can to make sure the right never rises again.  All the while, judges playing the part of referee are not doing their part to keep the game fair.

In one scene from the movie, Rocky is confronted by his former nemesis Apollo Creed.  He offers to help train Rocky for a rematch with Lang in exchange for a “big” favor.  Rocky is pretty beat up and demoralized.  Apollo is frustrated that Rocky has no drive anymore.  Somehow Rocky finds the strength to keep going and accepts Apollo’s help.  The rematch is held and Rocky sprints from his corner with vigor.  Lang doesn’t like it and throws a fit, a temper tantrum, with his trainers.  Lang comes back and gains the upper hand again.  But Rocky decides to use a different strategy and pretends to be taken down by Lang.  Lang keeps punching and Rocky waits for Lang to wear himself out and then Rocky sees his chance and takes Lang down with punch after punch on a tired and worn out Lang.  Rocky eventually wins but he doesn’t do it alone.  He needed Apollo to help him.  He needed Apollo to give him the encouragement to go forward.

In the following scene from Rocky III, Apollo says these words:

“We held the greatest title in the whole world, baby.  We lost that title for all the wrong reasons.  You lost your edge.  When we fought, you had the Eye of the Tiger, the edge.  And now you got to get it back.  The way to get it back is to go back to the beginning.  You know what I mean?  (Laugh)  Maybe we can get it back together?  Eye of the Tiger man.”

Imagine this – Rocky represents the guys on the right – the guys holding the keys to Congress.  Apollo is the tea party.  The American Republic is the greatest government in the world.  We have lost our edge and we see the GOP in Congress down for the count.

The tea party is not the enemy.  We are offering to help the GOP in Congress and together we can beat the left.  We can encourage them.  We can support them.  We can stand with them.  We just need the GOP to stop the pity party, get off the mat, and use their muscles. They must go back to the party they were before they lost their zeal.  They must stand up for the Constitution and fight to secure the blessings of liberty for all the audience members – We the People.

Please contact your member of Congress TODAY (http://www.house.gov/) and tell them – “It’s time to use your muscles, get off the mat and regain the title of a Free Republic.  You must believe and go back to the beginning.  The beginning was what our founding fathers gave us – the Constitution.  Start there and stand up for it.”   Ask them what they are going to do about this.  We can’t wait for the courts to decide.  The referee may not be in our corner!  The time for the fight is now…today.

At the end of the movie, Rocky fulfills Apollo's "big favor": a private rematch with him. The film concludes with both of the fighters throwing their first punch at the same time, but this time, they fight in the spirit of friendly competition rather than as fierce rivals.

Wouldn’t it be nice to see the GOP and the tea party in the ring together as they celebrate the saving of the Republic?  It can happen but right now we are the audience and you, GOP, are in the ring.  We’re willing to help and scream for your victory.  Are you willing to let us?

Enjoy the video – you’ll be singing it all day.

Are their any men out there who would ask their wives for an open marriage?  I think not.  They would have a lot of bumps and bruises on them or worse. Newt has admitted his sins.  This was off the charts to believe a bitter ex wife.

We also have a lot of work to do work with our local Republicans from the elected to REC organization. Some need your persistent oversight. They need to know you’re concerned.

I disagree; the Tea Party is the #1 Enemy of the GOP.  Judge Napolitano on the FNC had a good article on the "establishment" in the GOP.  His definition runs parallel and concurrent to that which I have been calling the "rockefeller republicans".  They never REALLY want to be in a majority; they never want to be forced to LEAD!  They want to vote and gripe in opposition (but never enough to actually block, unless they can score the same as the Nebraska senator did for holding Hussein Obama's health care hostage) then get the big ransom and retire from the Senate and run for governor saying,"look what I did for OUR state"!!!  George 43 couldn't wait to saddle up with "Teddy" (whom I phope the devil is helping Mary Jo Kopeckne and the soul of Teddy's unborn child he murdered, put a pitfork in his butt.  In Honiker's blog, he points out that the democrats have already in place the machinations to corruptly steal any election they want to.  The Tea Partiers are fair and play by the rules; only the demorats have the fix in!!!  Not even the nuts from Ron Paul will overcome such corruption.

Billie,  It will take me alittle while to read sites listed below.  Yes I will definitly e-mail and make calls to congress.  Calling and praying is the only thing I can do.  I find it so hard to understand why we do not have enough of our politicians that  will step up to the plate and stand up for our country.  I send e-mails and call friends constantly with news from FCTP, Bear Witness and ACT for America.  I like what I here from some of my friends, but not from the politicians.  We will hang in together.

Great analogy, Billie...

There is lots going on in Congress that does not get carried by the press/media.

Last Friday Congressman Clyburn with Pelosi by his side tried to start a speech on negotiations during the 'pro forma'  session and he was not recognized and gaveled out, as the session was over when he stood up, they had gone through all the motions and business.

The press ran a piece that he was rudely shut out but it was a move by Pelosi and her minions to demonize the Republicans, whereas is the WHOLE problem. Pelosi, Reid have obstructed the peoples' voice in Congress since Jan 2007 and then they turn around to the press/media and lie about it all blaming the Republicans.

Listening to Debbie Wasserman-Schultz is like listening to someone from the *TWiLiGHT*ZONe* who is completely out of touch with reality, that woman lies with each breath she takes and she clearly is a very vile and nasty piece of work like her mentor Nancy Pelosi. firedebbie.com

I was even shocked about reading a story about Gabby Giffords before her being accident last year, walking out of a DC restaurant stopping by Speaker Boehner's table and had a big smile on her face and told him to stay out of her district, and repeated it.

The Progressive = Marxist Democrats have literally destroyed the old Democrat party and most of the moderate blu dogs do not exist any more, most are retiring in 2012, and at the end of their term.

Progressive = Marxists are now out to destroy the Republican Party, in 2012. The Republican party knows this, and if they do not get it right, the party is gone. Which is interesting to note that the Founding Fathers advised against starting a Political party, once you do that, the vote will be easily manipulated. The Democratic party was the first political party formed in the late 1780s.

The President and the Progressive = Marxist Democrats are claiming that we have a do nothing Congress because of the Republican led House, that is a complete lie, you can check the House.gov records and see literally hundreds of bills, budgets, a cutcap&balance bill that would of prevented a downgrade in our credit rating and many others that were passed in the house with bipartisan votes.

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid shelved many of those bills and will not allow them to come to the Senate floor for a open debate. There are also almost 30 bills at the last count, passed by the House just sitting in the Senate.

The American people are being lied to by President Obama, Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid and all the Progressive = Marxist Democrats.

You can keep in touch with what is going on by Twitter:  @HouseFloor @SenateFloor @Senate_GOPs @HouseGOPs @SpeakerBoehner @jimDemint @GOPLeader @GOPWhip @RSC @CatoInstitute @Heritage and many more just go look up and get a list going, you can follow almost every member of Congress.

Senator Jim DeMint is vetting Senators through his Senate Conservatives Fund also.

Keep in mind also, if you blog on FaceBook, other blogs, tweet and any social net work do not spew any hateful vitriol, just keep to the truth and the facts. It is starting to get very ugly on many social networks. Just stick to the truth and facts...

The American people will get it right this time. Thanks Billie for all of your wonderful inspirational blogs and the others also here at FCTP.

IT is going to be be a very tough fight, but the outcome is well worth it to keep our ONE United Nation under GOD and WE THE PEOPLE.

We must reach out beyond our comfort zone to inform.  The nation has been on a journey since the late 1800's when the path was charted and mapped out.  Most of us have enjoyed our time on the train of "Liberty and Freedom," but it is quickly approaching its' destination of "servitude and oppression."

In the early 1900's the Intercollegiate Socialist Society was formed to engage college students in the concept of socialism for the purpose of removing the stigma of it being the antithesis to America's founding principles.  Here is an excerpt from the bi-monthly issue from October-November 1916:

Retrieved 8 August 2011 from: http://books.google.com/books?id=5UFWAAAAYAAJ&printsec=frontcov...

"To be sure, the Socialists have never seen advantage in perpetuating a capitalist state as such; but they usually have seen very great advantage in preserving such of its machinery as can be used in furtherance of the cause of democracy; and in preserving even the capitalist state itself from chaos until it can be conquered from within by the ballot and economic pressure and converted form a capitalist state into a co-operative commonwealth."

In 1921 Harry W. Laidler changed the name from Intercollegiate Socialist Society (ISS) to the League for Industrial Democracy (LID) and became its executive director until 1956.

The plan is almost complete, yet so many Americans are still focused on baking cookies, taking kids to their sports events, or planning the next vacation; the Normalcy Syndrome.  I pledge to get out of my comfort zone and talk to neighbors, get to know my precinct, and stay focused on informing.

They all have NOT done the same thing. This man is over the top. Congress has not done anything because we have not done anything. We are the boss, they work for us. I like firing people. The congress is the second place to start right after the presidency.

Comment by Mike Hurt on January 11, 2012 at 8:57am

I am against what this President has done, but they all have done the same thing. Bush, Regan, Clinton all of them.  I am concerned why our Congress does not address the insider trading issue.  This is criminal.

Collecting for our Bahamian Neighbors

Good morning!

We spent last week wondering if we would be hit by Hurricane Dorian.  Thankfully we were spared.  However, the Bahamas were not so lucky.  I am sure you have seen the devastation there.

My daughter has a friend (a nurse) who is arranging multiple trips to the area and will be collecting supplies to take to those areas.  If you would like to help, we will collect things at…
