KC,  I see that you are having a hard time trying to figure our what Ron Paul has to do with the Romney rally at the Landing and the answer is nothing!  Rarely does anyone (including me) stick to the subject of any particular blog and nearly all blogs slowly disintegrate into Ron Paul vs. the World.

So if you looking for consistency of subject matter in this forum, you are not likely to find it.  Go ahead and start your own blog.  At some point you will find Ron Paul slyly making his presence known in someone's comment.  Once that takes place -- it's off to the races and Katy bar the door!

Patricia I do think proportional delegate allocation should be the rule if in a primary the top vote vetter fails to get 50%+1
Or a runoff.
I think the last two election cycles would have produced a different candidate. Romneg and McCain were the most mderate of all the candidates in each cycle.

Patricia you are right, except, sorry about this except, these are the rules that the various states had for picking delegates. And that is the problem, Republicans had set the rules so that in many states, but not all, the state convention chose the delegates. In essence they felt the convention would give them the opportunity to choose a candidate more to their liking in the event the people voted for someone the establishment didn't cotton. So Ron Paul usurped the system by taking control of it, in effect beating them at their own game.
I do not understand why state parties would ever allow someone other than the top vote getter to be awarded a state's delegates. But that is how the Republican party rolls. I am pretty sure this new scheme will come back to bite them in the arse.

Ken, this is your opinion. NOT FACT. I feel quite differently about this and have a right to my opinion as well. Ron Paul tried to hijack the process after someone had won the primary. He went around trying to gather up delegates and get the nomination even though people did not vote for him. No one is going to vote for someone who hijacks the convention that I know of and many, rightfully so, had grave concerns about Mr. Paul's stands on a number of issues............as I said FAR right and just as bad as FAR left and going from one to the other would destroy what will be left when Obama gets done in January...................as he is still writing job killing executive orders and has just added a couple more meddling in private businesses.

Amanda, yes.  Your point is well taken.  Sometimes I think we overlook the fact that our ability to make the choices and support "our" candidate, no matter who your favorite is, is just one more great thing about our country.  I understand it is one's right to continue to campaign for the one you most believe in.  My 'favorite' is no longer in the running.  I have accepted that and will now work to defeat the incumbent because it is the best thing for our country; and will look to the future for 2014 and 2016.  Change sometimes must come in slow and deliberate steps.   What I was trying to say is for some of us there is a limited amount of time for political campaigning and I want to be on the side that defeats Obama with my energy and ability.   Goal = defeat Obama.

Helen I hope you do go out and support Gov. Romney. But people here have choices and supporting the candidate of their choice is their right. Further, politicking for their guy is important. FCTP is not a stand n for the Republican party. Put forth the postions that you feel are important, debate them, try to understand an issue better. But don't expect others to acquiesce. Buddy Roemer would be my first pick. Johnson is second. America Votes will provide the ability to write in any candidate that you wish to vote for in this election.

I agree with Helen and Patricia!  I also have a question - what does Ron Paul have to do with the Rally at the Landing?

I guess I can't go. I didn't get the ticker that I ask 2 days ago, I follow up with email and phone call this morning, left a message. I hope I'll get it before the event...

And as was my right, I responded to Roma.  I agree about supporting the candidate elected in the primaries and that is Romney.  I also agree that we are not going to get perfect and a complete turn around of the mess we are in during one election cycle and people need to know if Romney wins, it does not mean we can go back to ignoring what is going on.  We are probably going to have to keep up a letter writing campaign and let folks know what we want.  We can't go back to sleep and let our elected officials continue to do what they have done in the past (and recently for that matter).  Some of the legislation they have passed is horrendous in a "free" country where the officials actually work for the people!

RYAN NICHOLS - Hardened Criminal?? Seriously??

If you're not already aware. This is what's going on in DC while dangerous criminals are allowed back out on the streets.  It's horrifying that this is happening to our citizens and veterans for protesting the hijacking of our election process. This is still happening! They are STILL being tortured and treated like full on terrorists.

You may not be aware of the typical things they're forced to go through...…
