Heritage Morning Bell Report: Obama’s Failure to Confront the Iranian Threat

We received the Morning Bell Report from Heritage today and found it very disturbing.

 

The one thing the Federal Government is in charge of according to our Constitution is National Defense.   Instead of spending time passing regulations about the kinds of fruits and vegetables our children should eat, they should spend their time ensuring the safety of the American people.  This is their job.

 

This attack was averted.  Will we avert the next one?

Yesterday, America learned that Iran conspired to launch a terrorist attack in Washington, D.C., with a planned assassination of the Saudi ambassador and bomb attacks on the Saudi and Israeli embassies. U.S. authorities disrupted the plot and have brought charges against the men who planned to carry out the attack, but the audacity of Iran’s actions highlights a disturbing truth: The Obama Administration has done far too little to deter state-sponsored terrorism, and it has utterly failed to confront the Iranian threat.

Thank you for reporting on this critical national security matter. Obama has caused so much damage to the economy, one can forget about his weak and feckless foreign policy. America has become the world's doormat. Iran planned to blow up a Saudi embassy in America, not anywhere else, just to show their contempt for us. Why take military response off the table, as Obama has done publicly? Why not let Iran stew? Because our Navy, Army and Air Force have shrunk under this president, and because of Obama's unwillingness to name our enemy: radical Islam. We have come to a point where our enemies laugh at us and our allies do not trust us. As a former US Navy Commander, I have never seen a weaker commander-in-chief.

They didn't arrest the main guy until last week, so it wasn't a diversion.

I thought this might be viewed as a success, we caught the guy before he did any damage.

Plus it is good to know that we have informants inside the Zeta drug cartel.

Carafano talks about military response. Proportional military response. What might that be?

I think there are smarter ways to handle this than getting the military involved, they can't handle all of our problems.

Interesting that this all came to a head a month ago and they just brought it to public attention, yesterday. Were they holding it back to roll out to divert attention and heat off Holder and the President?

Last night the President was in Orlando at attorney John Morgan's (Morgan & Morgan law firm), mansion raising money for his campaign probably with former Governor Crist in attendance, his wife finally publicly announced that she is now a Democrat.

This President is a FAILED President in all that he says and does, a very detached FAILED President, in my opinion. His main concern... fundraising so he can be our President another FOUR YEARS.
