"I am suspending my presidential campaign because of the continued distraction, the continued hurt caused on me and my family," Cain said, adding that he reached the decision "with a lot of prayer and soul-searching.

It's a mystery why the DNC would put these accusations out during the Republican primaries and not save them for the November election in case Cain was selected as the republican presidential nominee. No comment from Ron Paul, Mitt Romney and Rick Santorum. It is obvious that the MSM and the establishment republicans are pushing Mitt Romney as the republican nominee. Something to chew on.

Fellow Candidates Comment On Cain's Decision

Cain's withdrawal leaves Michelle Bachman and Rick Santorum as the only remaining conservatives in the Republican primary. It might be worthwhile to review Steering Conservatives to the Weakest Candidate.

The fact that the Donald is going to have his very own debate risks turning the Republican primary season into a full blown circus.

Imagine a primary that had provided Jeb Bush , Haley Barbour, Mitch Daniels, Chris Christie, Tim Pawlenty, Paul Ryan, Gingrich and Romney. Gingrich and Romney would be seen as the weakest candidates in the field. Instead they are the strongest.

Anyone who shows up for Donald should be eliminated.

I hope that money is well spent.

Amanda,

Barack Obama NEVER got a great deal of scrutiny by the mainstream media!  Scrutiny by journalists is selective depending on their political persuasion.

Obama's past associations with communists and far left radicals were never reported in the mainstream media which to me reeked of journalistic malpractice.

Who knows what the truth is in Herman Cain's case?  One thing for sure is that Herman Cain has to live with his conscience and his wife.  All I know is I can kiss my campaign contribution goodbye.

You pay your money and you take your chances.

If the media did it's job without bias and reported "just the facts, maam" BO would still be in Illinois voting "present".

Herman's withdrawal is no ones fault but his own. If you have had a 13 year affair with a woman who appears to be an escort, then it will come out. Ask Spitzer. If you are running for president, you should expect a great deal of scrutiny. How often do you have to see it happen to others before you realize it will happen to you. Either delusion or the belief that everyone does it, also delusional, keeps these guys believing they won't get caught. Amazing. Do not blame the media, that is their job. It is unsavory but necessary.

As a Candidate; you then need to raise funds for your campaign

Unless you are very wealthy and can fund your own campaign, in order to succeed as a candidate, you must raise funds. Events, mailing campaigns, printing, signage, advertisements, etc. all add up to huge expenses. If you've received enough signatures, you won't need funds to qualify.  However, if you fall short, in order to be a candidate you must pay the amount for postitions listed in the previous blog.

A common misconception about political fundraising is that it…
