Adrian Peterson – You are an athletic freak of nature. But when it comes to making comments like this you show your true ignorance. Yes folks, Mr. Peterson has compared the NFL to modern day slavery. So I’m guessing this is his thought process of players in the NFL: They are only paid the equivalent of three meals a day. They must all live in community bunk beds. They are beaten if they don’t obey their masters’ commands. They are not allowed to leave the stadium on any circumstances. Oh yeah, and all of them are looked down on from the rest of the outside world as human beings unworthy of a normal life. Yo Adrian! I got ya pall!

Adrian Peterson, the modern day slave, is set to have a base salary of a paltry $10.72 Million for the 2011 season. Yes, that is just his salary from the Vikings. His endless amounts of endorsements are not included. That poor slave. Funny isn’t it though? Action figures like Adrian Peterson, Kobe Bryant, Lebron James, Tiger Woods (that list has nothing to do with color, they just happen to be some of the biggest rock stars the world of sports has to offer) all make way more than your average executive in the health care or banking industry – yet the executives  are the ones who are continually vilified.

“The players are getting robbed. They are,” Peterson told Yahoo. “The owners are making so much money off of us to begin with. I don’t know that I want to quote myself on that.” I mean, I don’t even know how to comment on something like that. Getting robbed? Adrian, you do realize that there is so much more involved in the business of the NFL than throwing and running the football don’t you? You are simply one of a multitude of products that NFL owners manage. I might agree with you if you were only getting paid what an entry level sideline photographer got paid during NFL games. Unfortunately, your rant is completely unjustified. What did they teach you at Oklahoma? But the worst part about this situation? A huge chunk of people in this country probably agree with him.
