Comparing Reactions to Yesterday's Hearing on Radical Islam

from my blog at http://theatleeappeal.com

A lot of hullabaloo is coming out of Washington in regards to yesterday’s hearing on radical Islam. The hyper-sensitive politically correct crowd is acting like they just witnessed a family member get beheaded on Al-Jazeera. The debates have been heated, as expected, but there will surely be more that comes out of these hearings than just a circus of emotions running amok.

Kerry Picket, who is a Washington Times reporter, sat down with a couple people who were on differing opinions regarding this issue. The first man up to the batters box was Texas Democrat Al Green. Picket pointed out to Mr. Green that out of the 126 total terror related indictments handed out by Eric Holder and the Justice Department in the past two years, all charged have been Muslim and asked if that should be considered in the hearing. Green, being the politically correct liberal that he is, offered this answer: I think that all criminals should be prosecuted. I think that all terrorists should be investigated which is why I said we ought to investigate all of them and that would include the KKK. Over a hundred years of terrorism why not investigate them too. They are rooted in a religion as well. Check their website out. You’ll see.

Always trying to deflect the issue. Sir, this is an issue about RADICAL ISLAM. The KKK has nothing to do with the sort. Most notably, the KKK has been about as relevant as the Detroit Lions the past 15 years. There may be a cross burning here and there, but people are no longer being lynched or tortured by this group. As despicable as they are, they are not a threat to national security. In fact, the KKK today is basically the white version of the Black Panther Party. While neither group is running around killing the opposite race, they both have deep seated hatred for the opposite race. Al Green’s attempt to marginalize radical Islam by comparing it to the KKK was extremely weak and has no credibility. We don’t live in the 60s anymore.

Of course, when Mr. Picket tried to respond to Al Green’s assumptions, Mr. Green rudely repeated “I hope you won’t defend the KKK” in an obvious attempt to ignore anything Mr. Picket had to say. Class act sir. Then we go over to Allen West who is a Republican from Georgia and a member of the Congressional Black Caucus. Here is what he had to say:

You’re not defending the KKK,” said Mr. West, a retired Army Colonel and Iraq War veteran. “I grew up in Georgia and I remember the days of the Klan–the lighting the cross on Stone Mountain. Those days are done, but what I think a lot of people need to understand is that two weeks ago we had a Saudi gentleman out of Texas Tech–Lubbock, Texas, that was caught planning a terrorist attack to include President Bush’s home…..I think bringing the KKK into all of this is terrible. It’s horrible, and that shows an unwillingness to really deal with this situation. It’s once again this comparative means by which people try to make the moral relativist argument instead of dealing with the issue.”

Obviously, this man gets it. He knows that the KKK has become irrelevant and they no longer pose a serious threat to peace and stability. The politically correct crowd is so afraid to offend someone that they simply stick their heads in the sand on issues such as this. “You’re just lumping all Muslims as possible terrorists! Should we not start investigating all Christians because of abortion doctors being killed?!” I can’t tell you how many times I’ve heard this pathetic counter-argument. Nobody is saying all Muslims must be rounded up and interrogated like they are Japs in the 40s. And how many abortion doctors have been killed in the last 10 years in the name of Christianity? 2? We are trying to find ways to defend ourselves against people who are so excited about the empty promise off 72 virgins that they are willing to blow themselves up on airplanes, subways, or shopping malls. Could you please tell me any other group of people whose sole intention is to kill as many innocent people as possible in the name of their religion? Oh you can’t? Great, then put your weak argument to rest and join the rest of us in reality. Radical Islam is a threat, and holding a hearing to figure out ways to prevent radicalization within our own borders is a necessary measure.

RYAN NICHOLS - Hardened Criminal?? Seriously??

If you're not already aware. This is what's going on in DC while dangerous criminals are allowed back out on the streets.  It's horrifying that this is happening to our citizens and veterans for protesting the hijacking of our election process. This is still happening! They are STILL being tortured and treated like full on terrorists.

You may not be aware of the typical things they're forced to go through...…
