"Why is the Pentagon in favor of the DREAM Act"?

Perhaps because much of our military has been politicized and no longer stands for our naional interests.

John the people you are referring to have requirements to be eligible to even join the military, one of which is LEGAL status. These people who have enlisted are NOT illegals. They are here and have joined the service legally through legal channels. The DREAM act has nothing to do those that you have mentioned. The requirement is below in quotations.
"A non-citizen that is eligible to join the military must meet certain requirements: (1) Have an Alien Registration Receipt Card (stamped I-94 or I-551 Green card/INS Form 1-551), (2) Have a bona fide residence established, and (3) Have established a record of the U.S. as their home. Some non-citizens from countries with a reputation of hostility towards the U.S. may also require a waiver. The federal government cannot petition on behalf of an illegal immigrant so that they can obtain legal status and be able to enlist in the military. In order for an immigrant to join the United States military, they must first go through the immigration process of the USCIS (previously known as the INS) and then and then begin the enlisting process. Another requirement is that the Green Card and/or visa if the immigrant desiring to join the military must be valid for the entire period of their enlistment. "
Also for those same people above who are eligible LEGAL non-citizens who have enlisted, there are accelerated citizenship procedures for those in active duty.

Roma, the republicans will not be voting on anything until the budget fiasco and the tax mess are both straightened out. Harry Reid was given a letter signed by all 42 republican senators that said they will filibuster anything that he presents until such time as they take care of the priority items.........budget and extend the Bush tax rates for everyone (he did not say just for those under 250,000), so I hope and pray these folks don't get one single other thing done until after January when the troops arrive :).

John, we already have a program that allows foreign nationals to gain citizenship after military service, so why Obama needs to duplicate it is beyond me (except he has to have his scent on everything no matter what it is even if he duplicates things that are already laws). In spite of everything you are all saying about how it isn't that bad and on and on. This will cost mega bucks that we do not have and allow these folks to bring in whole families who will be on the welfare rolls and food stamps and the like. We had, I thought, already told this president no until he secured the borders. Now I understand he doesn't give a flying flip about the American people and is all in it for every loser he can stir up to vote for him in the next election, but this bill is truly not the way to go. I am sorry these kids got brought here, but mass amnesty isn't the way to go, and we really do have to secure the borders FIRST.

Here is a novel idea....one that could actually work. We cannot seem to completly get the attention of our House and Senate. Dream Bill, illegal immigration, Bush Tax cuts. Come April 15, every tax paying citizen files for an extension, then another, then another, until they get the idea that no new tax money enters the system until the will of the people is heard. Money talks, and it is our money.

I saw something on John McCain's facebook page from one of these people that brought a child in and she was gripy and saying, "we just didn't want to pass it cause we didn't want to support her and her family who are raising their children who would get help from this". These folks have to be stopped from passing this. It will be horrendous.

20.-30. Billion is a good estimate for a start, with open un-contested OBAMA borders the cost esclates by the minute with each body that comes accross the borders.

If the Washington D.C. phone lines are tied up you can call the local office of your Senator or Congressman. For Jacksonville, the local number for Senator Nelson is 346-4500. I have never not gotten through with this number.

RYAN NICHOLS - Hardened Criminal?? Seriously??

If you're not already aware. This is what's going on in DC while dangerous criminals are allowed back out on the streets.  It's horrifying that this is happening to our citizens and veterans for protesting the hijacking of our election process. This is still happening! They are STILL being tortured and treated like full on terrorists.

You may not be aware of the typical things they're forced to go through...…
