I have stated for months that there was no voter fraud here in Florida and that the laws passed were done so to suppress the vote and not end voter fraud. But I was wrong there has been discovered a widespread voter fraud right here in Florida. Though the new laws did not specifically catch these criminals it does show that the problem exists.  I was wrong. Here is a link to the story:

I'm an early voter.  Why?  Because I'm a poll worker and am at the polls from 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.  Our ballot this election is two pages front and back with 11 amendments.  They foresee long lines on election so I suggest if you vote on election day, you fill out your sample ballot and take it with you when you got to vote or vote early.  There is a set number of hours that are required for early voting.  Duval County meets that requirement by allowing for 8 early voting days with longer hours on those days.  This accommodates people who work and would like to vote after their working hours.  So the 8 hours that Corrine Brown is upset about on the Sunday before election day has been distributed among the other days by lengthening the hours on those days.  She is upset that  that eliminates a Sunday for her to load the buses from churches and take them to the polls.

The FCTP has three opportunities in October for you to attend a meeting where Supervisor of Elections, Jerry Holland will be providing information on the amendments.  It is up to individuals to get informed, if they care.

Amanda, I see your posts here regularly, but have yet to meet to you at any event or see your name on any effort the FCTP provides to get involved.  Exactly what are you doing to ensure that we have a fair election and that we get people out to vote?

It was a news item among other news items about potential or outright vote fraud throughout the United States. Florida being just one state of many.  You can either shoot the messenger or draw your own conclusions.  Take your pick.

A voter registration scandal involving at least several states and the RNC and they link to an AP story. That fails the deligence test.

True the Vote posted a link to an AP article about this issue with Republicans here:

Contrary to what people think, True the Vote actively seeks Democrat Party participation to keep elections fair.

Helen, good for you and your employer. But it is not the law that your employer provide you time to vote. And why shouldn't participation in our democracy be made as available as possible. The more people who vote, the more we get a responsive government. When only partisans vote, no one is afraid of losing their seat.

We don't need a "national holiday".  We need citizens who give a damn to get out of bed early enough to go vote, stop on their way home, go at lunch time, etc.  I have voted for decades, and worked for decades, and never had ANY problem with voting on election day.   Like Lee, I have always had employers who said "no problem" if you were a little late getting in if the lines were long as they new it was important to vote.  Like everything else in this country there is a group who wants to be victims rather than just get the job done.  I don't care who started it, they need to stop with the "Oh.. we're so disenfranchised"... was BS...  IF Florida has things screwed up, well, why am I not suprised.  I spent years voting in major cities and never had any problems.  This is all just liberal BS>

For eons (it seems) election day was limited to one day.  I have voted in every national election since John F. Kennedy. My employers during those years had no qualms or restrictions about coming in late for work or leaving work early to avoid standing in long lines at the polling place.  In fact, they actively supported voting, because they thought it was their duty as corporate citizens!

There is no problem with early voting and those who have problems with the designated days and hours are trying to manufacture a non-existent crisis.

Helen, so you know, early voting was put into place by a Republican Governor, Jeb Bush and a Republican state house and senate. Not exactly a liberal group there. It of course followed the debacle of 2000 when 25,000 votes of your fellow Duval citizens were thrown out.

RYAN NICHOLS - Hardened Criminal?? Seriously??

If you're not already aware. This is what's going on in DC while dangerous criminals are allowed back out on the streets.  It's horrifying that this is happening to our citizens and veterans for protesting the hijacking of our election process. This is still happening! They are STILL being tortured and treated like full on terrorists.

You may not be aware of the typical things they're forced to go through...…
