On the morning of the last day of 2011 Ted, Lu and Patty set out in their rental car to find persons of interest in Des Moines, Iowa.

After getting lost several times, we finally arrived at Java Joe's Coffee House, where the day before "Occupiers" made a scene and were thrown out by the owner of the business, named Amy and a police escort.  We were hoping that perhaps today would offer similar excitement and colorful customers.  However, today all was calm and orderly.  We waited for sometime to speak with the owner who didn't have much to say about the day before, but did speak with us about his experiences with Iowa caucuses through the years and various candidates he had met.  He mentioned in particular that Michele Bachman seemed to him to be a truly conservative woman of integrity.  Before long he had to leave to go serve coffee at the Convention Center.

So, we were again on the street looking for our next adventure.  Someone had mentioned to Ted that the "Occupiers" were probably hanging out near 14th street.  So we drove down East Locust Street, looking at the beautiful Capitol building.  Luckily we spotted a store front with signs, pictures, etc plastered all over the front windows and several people gathered outside the building.  So we found a place to park, got out I phone and set off to be the "media"- putting the microphone back into the hands of the people- giving them a voice.

We interviewed at length two women who were passionate about their movement and had many ideas that they wanted to share.  We took videos and stills, looked around inside the building, spoke to several others who joined in, and picked up literature they gave us.

The hours passed quickly and it was time for the three grossly amateur media street reporters to find their way back to home base - first mission accomplished.

Enjoy the interview.  We did.

Iowa did what it has done for years, provide three tickets out. Two conservatives and a moderate.

2008- Huckabee, Thompson, McCain

2004- Reelection

2000- Bush, Forbes and Keyes

1996- Robertson, Alexander

1988- Bush, Buchanon, Dole, Dole

They do not elect presidents, they are farmers, they separate the wheat from the chaff.

I do not see a way forward in the Republican party for Ron Paul. His world view is going to limit him to 20-25% of the vote, tops. That leaves Santorum and Romney.

Please tell me how I am wrong. Neither Gingrich or Perry have any boots on the ground in South Carolina, Florida or Nevada. And no support above the low teens, After that it is Super Tuesday and the game is over. Santorum has to turn in a strong showing in either South Carolina or Florida or it is game over.

Anyone (Santorum) who wants to beat Romney has two or three weeks to prove it, or it is over. Santorum has to at least be competitive in South Carolina or Florida.

Gingrich is done. Perry, done. whose votes are they going to get? Michelle Bachmann's 5%. Huntman's 1%?

Wrong.  It is not over yet.  Don't count out anyone except Cain and Bachmann.  Anything could happen to influence events and the fate of the other candidates between now and the other primaries which have yet to be decided.  Iowa was merely a warmup act.

So anyway, there has finally been an election. Gingrich, Bachmann and Perry, out, at least for all practical purposes. There is no reason to get in the soup line that is Romney. We are not starving yet. Santorum is conservative on fiscal issues. He wants the government to get all up in our personal lives, which I am against, but Paul is never going to get any higher than he has been in Iowa. So it is Romney or Santorum. Time to choose.

When I look at and listen to the OWS crowd, I am looking for a brain that occupies a cranium.

Still looking.

Sickening, yes, but it's better to know what you're dealing with than not knowing that this is what's out there.  Talk about "seeing is believing." Even the retired teacher at the beginning who was speaking about Obama.  She said "...Well, I don't think as much has been done as could've, because the Republicans have wanted him out from day one..."  And this is a retired teacher (with some education, one might think).  She didn't mention one single thing that she wanted Obama to do that the Republicans blocked.  Just drinking the "Media Kool-Aid" all her life.  But as I said at the beginning, this is what we're dealing with.

Thanks again for putting this video back up - It's a good one to share.

Christy,

You must have worked some magic.  The video is back!

. . . and then I subjected myself to the appalling economic ignorance verbalized by the woman wearing the gray coat.

Right now, I feel like Charlie Brown did when Lucy snatched away the football.  AAUGH!

Colleges are the problem.

Lee Phillips is right on the mark. The lib-progs have turned our schools and colleges into factories that have turned out millions of moths which are eating away at not only the moral and ethical fabric of America but also the basic fundamentals of Americanism

As happens so often, the left has co-opted the language and subverted the original meaning.  Political correctness is just another manifestation of this.

When you control the government schools and dominate higher education institutions, you can propagandize instead of teaching students to think for themselves.

I once confronted a Communist student here in the USA during an exchange trip.  Her American counterpart was studying at Patrice Lumumba People's Friendship University in Moscow.  She was very sharp and had memorized all the rote answers about how bad capitalism was compared to communism.

She started to get out of her comfort zone when we toured a typical department store and I pointed out the customers were ordinary citizens and not rich elite American capitalists.  However, after she left the store for a few hours her brainwashing kicked in and she was back to being a comrade.

Leftists are excellent propagandists and they start doing it in kindergarten!

RYAN NICHOLS - Hardened Criminal?? Seriously??

If you're not already aware. This is what's going on in DC while dangerous criminals are allowed back out on the streets.  It's horrifying that this is happening to our citizens and veterans for protesting the hijacking of our election process. This is still happening! They are STILL being tortured and treated like full on terrorists.

You may not be aware of the typical things they're forced to go through...…
