Osama Bin Laden is dead and so is one of our own
Last night we learned that America’s number one terrorist had been found and was shot dead by our military forces. After looking in caves for 9 ½ years, Osama Bin Laden was found in a luxurious Pakistan compound surrounded by the world’s finest security systems. Today is a great day to celebrate because we were here to see justice served on this evil man. He did not die of natural causes. He died because our military led by General Petreaus hunted him down and then took him down in a shoot out at his compound. The men and women of our military service are brave soldiers and we know they are proud to be a part of this historical accomplishment.
Former President George W. Bush sent this statement, “America has sent an unmistakable message…no matter how long it takes, justice will be done.”
A man on twitter remarked he witnessed a 9/11 widow on his flight. She began sobbing when the announcement was made by the pilot. The entire cabin comforted her and he said “It was a life altering event to see.”
David Beamer, father of Todd Beamer, lives in Jacksonville and is a friend to FCTP. We know this is a great day for him and probably has opened up the floodgates for his son, Todd. Our heart goes out to David and Todd’s family and hope they will find some peace in knowing the mastermind behind the 9/11 attacks has finally met his maker and is paying for the consequences of his decisions.
Justice was ours and judgment is God’s.
Although we will celebrate this great victory, men and women are still dying in Afghanistan and Iraq. Jonathan Villanueva of Jacksonville was killed in action by small arms fire last week in Afghanistan. He was in high school last year and was only 19 years old when he died last Saturday. Funeral arrangements have not been finalized and if it is appropriate, we will let you know when and where so we can honor this young man for his courage and service.
Today we should celebrate and at the same time we urge you to keep your eyes open for sleeper cells in the United States who are waiting their turn to kill Americans. There are many more like OBL who wish to see all Americans dead so they can rule the world. That is their mission and they will never relent.

Tamara, it's not weird at all. If there is one principle more deeply rooted in the mind of every American, it is that we should have nothing to do with conquest, but we must reject the idea that every time a law's broken, society is guilty rather than the lawbreaker. It is time to restore the American precept that each individual is accountable for his actions. That reckoning was the relief you felt.President Bush said about the prosecution of the war on terror, there will be things you hear about and other things we do that you won't hear about. I guess this was just one of those things.

New word is that the plan was to capture him, although they all knew the odds were that he would resist, which of course, he did. Weirdly, I didn't think I would feel anything when I heard of his death, but I felt a huge sense of joy followed by relief.

I am so tired of the killing. Bush caught Sadam and gave him to his people to be held for trial. I wish the military could tell us exactly what hapnd.

It is very refreshing to see the well thought out posts here. bin Laden trained his people and sent them out into the world, we must stay vigilant "see it, report it" esp. 18 wheel truck drivers, folks hanging around water supplies, flight school folks (Obama has allowed illegal alien to open a flight school). I do not like the fact that he was buried at sea period. We should have seen the body and his fam should hve. had a say, no, no memorial, Sadam does not hve. one but was buried. Obama will do anything, anything to never leave office. bin Laden was a muslim. We need to see a photo and interview Seals, hope no one is lying. Yes it is God's Judgement for his soul. It is sad that the killing never ends around the World.

I agree, Steve. Obama had to give the orders to take out Bin Laden. If that mission had failed, the blame would have been placed squarely on his shoulders (remember botched rescue of hostages in Iran). We should take this moment to put politics aside, congratulate the president, the intelligence community and our armed forces on a job well done. Justice has been done.

Personally I think this is just another hoax by the O admin. I think bin Laden has been dead for a month or so. When you find out that his BC has been played with, now you've got watch the right hand because the left hand is up to something. Rahm Emanuel?

If you're not already aware. This is what's going on in DC while dangerous criminals are allowed back out on the streets. It's horrifying that this is happening to our citizens and veterans for protesting the hijacking of our election process. This is still happening! They are STILL being tortured and treated like full on terrorists.
