Isn't amazing, all of this stuff in our government and the United Nations being supported by our own local government? Go web search Carbon Credits, Chicago Carbon Exchange and unless it has changed recently, you will see them world wide all set on zero. The Progressive Liberals have been working very hard for several decades lying about what they really represent. We can thank GOD that there are still some honest, truthful people out there who are exposing it all to us. Thankfully those emails in the UK surfaced right before a big summit meeting on the "global warming". Now they are calling Global Climate Change. The earth is a living breathing, constantly moving on the surface and below the surface, with weather surges that are constantly changing across the globe. Go check out this site: http://www.iris.edu/hq/    *CLiCK* on the Seismic monitor map, it is amazing that so much movement goes on, and that is just earthquakes about 4.5 or 4.0. 

 

I guess as long as man is here, you will have a movement to take over governments, people etc., for power and financial gain. Always question everything, do not ever assume anything. Look up Islam Socialism/socialist, Red/Green alliance, Red/Green party, Red/Green agenda, unions socialism/communism also.

Trust me when I say (well, type...) that we have all heard much of this before. Some of this was called the "conservation movement" back in the 1960's. Some of these basic ideas are also found in Frank Lloyd Wright's theories of organic architecture from 100 years ago. BUT, the incarnation of the current "movement" now has a political agenda and your checkbook is attached to it. It is very much about control of the citizenry and the attempts of government activists to recast this country into the papers they wrote in college.

The Sustainable development agenda stems from fears of climate change. This is the new communist movement because they aim to control all economic activity based on a perceived environmental impact. 

 

This is particularly insidious on the local level because our constitution has week prohibitions against local regulations. There has been little in the way of limits placed on the power of these local municipalities.

 

Just look at the fourth amendment and then consider that a police officer can basically pull you over on the slightest justification. The fourth amendment was designed to keep the government from molesting citizens in the street and yet now we have it on a daily basis.

 

Just the other day I met a guy who lived in the worst part of town here. He has literally no economic opportunity in his area. He went fishing and caught a few fish then went home and smoked them nicely. He put out a sign saying he had some fish for sale and within 15 minutes the cops had come to shut him down because he didn't have the proper licenses.We all heard on Fox how people in Texas are being bared from giving food to the poor because they don't cook it in licensed kitchens.

 

I personally have found that I cannot even open a small handy man business in my own city due to regulations on that kind of work.

 

Local governments are already strangling new businesses and combined with this agenda that disregards property rights it would be easy for local governments to trample the people.

Well said, Mr. Harvel. That is the most important goal of the TP movement - education. ICLEI originated within the UN, reason enough for me to oppose their efforts.

Bravo! I know of no safe depository of the ultimate powers of the society but the people themselves; and if we think them not enlightened enough to exercise their control with a wholesome discretion, the remedy is not to take it from them but to inform their discretion.
