I was invited to speak at the Tea Party Caucus in the House of Representatives Monday night. It was a memory I will forever cherish and am thankful for the opportunity.
Michelle Bachmann reached out and asked three tea party leaders to speak on behalf of the Tea Party Movement. Her goal was to get our input on the Debt Ceiling. (Answer: Do not raise the Debt Ceiling.) The room was filled with new and more seasoned representatives who felt they identified as a tea party member.
I’m sorry to say but my Representative, Ander Crenshaw, did not show up nor did anyone from the Northeast Florida area, including Rep. John Mica who I had breakfast with the next morning for a discussion on High Speed Rail.
Our new and outspoken Rep. Allen West was there and we had a meeting with him earlier in the day in his office. Let me say this about Rep. West – “Thank God he is there! What a man of character and courage and he is certainly a leader!” (We’re talking to him about showing up for a gig in North Florida in the near future so stay tuned on that one!)
The two days in DC were exhausting and enlightening. My encounters went like this:
My overall observation was this:
The two days were worth the time and the efforts walking those long hallways in high heels for the sake of Liberty! Now we must get to work and it must start today. November 2012 is only 19 months away and it is time to find our new leaders to run against the RINOs and root out the Progressives. Anyone up for the job?
BY THE WAY – We are now heading to Tally next week to meet with our leaders. March 8 is our day in Tally and we hope you will make plans to attend. If you are coming from Jacksonville, we have a free bus awaiting you for the trip up and back on the same day – March 8. On the schedule will be meetings with our legislators, a rally at noon on the steps of the Capitol with some great speakers, and a press conference at 4:00 announcing the new Tea Party Caucus in Tallahassee led by Rep. Mike Weinstein from Jacksonville. We will be a part of setting up this Tea Party Caucus and developing the agendas as they move forward with this new initiative. Contact our office at (904) 683-3945 to reserve a seat on the bus.
And another note: Today, March 2, at 4:30 we will announce the First Coast Tea Party endorsements of local candidates for city council and the mayor’s race. We ask for your prayers and support as we make these announcements.
Continue to stay focused, stay awake and stay the course. Tell your friends to join our movement and get involved in securing freedom and liberty for all. Our country needs you.
P.S. – Find attached a poster we handed out at the Caucus. Print one for yourself and post it on your wall. These people showed up way before any others across this globe showed up in their city squares. The media never spoke about that day and the numbers that came to DC. And guess what happened on that day – no one got hurt, the place was clean as a whistle when we left and no media personnel were attacked. America was the first to stand for freedom and why didn’t the media report about that? Look for the First Coast Tea Party in the crowd. We were there and we plan to be a part of the next March on DC in November 2012 when we take back Congress and hopefully the White House!

As usual, my friend J.R. Cottingham, has just the right information. She is always in the forefront on these issues.
I will be calling these two Senators as well as my Representative, immediately after posting this blog.
I just signed up for thr "Rally in Tally" bus.
Remember "be there or be square"

Great report. The poster is great, but I can't seem to find me in the crowd. (2 million is a bit of an exageration. However, we did fill almost half the Mall and all sides of the Capitol. And when we left, the trash was off the grass and by the trash cans ready for pick up. I was with a group from Richmond and parked our chairs in front of the Capitol looking at the backs of a couple wearing First Coast Tea Party shirts.
Here is another problem to add to the FL HSR mix:
Two Florida State Senators, Thad Altman and Arthenia Joyner, have filed a lawsuit with the Florida Supreme Court seeking to force Governor Scott to accept $2.4 billion in federal stimulus to build high speed rail from Orlando to Tampa. They are using the legal system to obligate FL taxpayers to completing/operating a high speed rail system we don’t need and can’t afford. $100 million a year of estimated operating costs will be paid by FL taxpayers when federal stimulus dollars dry up. Temporary jobs now are not worth a lifetime of debt for FL citizens. Gov. Scott's rejection of federal stimulus dollars is sound economic policy, with which fiscal conservatives agree.
It is imperative that you;
Call Senator Altman at:
(321) 752-3138 or (850) 487-5053Great poster, great report, scary a bit though hearing Rubio's comment but hopefully NOW we are getting the truth out of Washington, D.C. instead of more lies and manipulated words and twisted truth.
My concern would be the red tape attached to the "High Speed Rail" money, what does it require? Union contracts only? How about the insurance costs of the rail? Liability costs?
My first trip to Tallahassee back in the mid 90's was a real eye opener. We got there at Congress's first day and the law suits were in the millions that were brought against the state of Florida and they were all flew right through them paying them all out of court! We all gasped from the viewing because of the millions that we paid out without a "blink" of the eye. Several million went to other countries, one was a 19 year old young man from South America, that got hit by a car on Miami University grounds and he was NOT a student, the car was driven by the university's security guard, it was in the early am and it was dark, rainy, clearly a accident and they awarded the family out of court over 2 million dollars. It was shocking to say the least, just to avoid a lawsuit.
There are a lot of things to consider but i betcha' there is a lot of red tape and obligations that come with the money.
Re: "Obama’s administration will take that money and use it somewhere else in a liberal state to help his campaign.” This disingeneous statement is a copout by U.S. Rep. John Mica. First, where is his proof to justify such a statement? Even if true, that is certainly no excuse for allowing the not-really-high-speed rail financial albatross to be hung around the necks of Florida taxpayers---to be paid for by them in perpetuity after the so-called stimulus grant money runs out. Mica represents only one U.S. House District containing approximately 20,000 people. What gives him the right to take it upon himself to make such an enormous decision and effort on behalf of all Floridians that will permanently saddle them with having to fund deficit spending that will occur in the out years to keep the not-so HSR running? Mica's and Sen. Bill Nelson's end run aroung Gov. Rick Scott's decision to reject the HSR funding should be hung as an albatross around each of their necks in the 2012 national election.
It appears that both Mica and Nelson have been in Washington so long that they have accepted the business-as-usual, one-best-way mentality of doing things: We've always done it this way... therefore, we'll always do it this way. It's time for a change and the Tea Party can serve as an impetus for change in the way that Washington and our elected leaders in the U.S. Congress do business.
Allen West has framed the budget debates best of any Republicans. West has said that the $ Trillion deficits run up by Obama are not just a financial matter, they are of great moral importance. While the left is busy calling Republicans heartless, West has clearly defined the tax and spend philosophy for what it is: destruction of America's liberties and our future.

If you're not already aware. This is what's going on in DC while dangerous criminals are allowed back out on the streets. It's horrifying that this is happening to our citizens and veterans for protesting the hijacking of our election process. This is still happening! They are STILL being tortured and treated like full on terrorists.
You may not be aware of the typical things they're forced to go through...…
