The Mayor's Race: A City Divided

There is not a big win for either camp this morning.  The city is divided and the winner will come down to a few hundred votes.

There will be accusations and yelling in a room filled with lawyers.  The Supervisor of Elections office will once again be thrown into the mix of political warfare as they look at every ballot cast.

The 30+% of people who voted will wait for the final count.

And behind the scenes, MoveOn.org and Organizing for America will be preparing their paid people to protest should it not go their way.

The Tiny Union will write stories about the land slide victory if their man wins.  They will write about the stolen election if ours does.

We’ve seen this before and nothing ever changes.  Nothing will ever change until the rest of Duval County wakes up and realizes because they didn’t vote, they will now be led by a handful of people – like them or not.

And let this be known…

If Mike Hogan wins, we will be thankful.

If Alvin Brown wins, we will not “throw ourselves behind him” because Mr. Brown chose to ignore the tea party members and chose to ignore the many questions posed to him about his background.  We will not go away and we will continue to ask the questions until they are answered.   The questions are too important to be ignored.

And…we will not rest until North Florida has a newspaper that investigates the stories and reports the facts.  The owners of the Tiny Union should be run out of town for not writing about the MoveOn.org and Organizing for America operatives AND for not doing a story on the questions posed to Mr. Brown.  They ignored these stories and for some reason, chose to denigrate Mike Hogan.

This is happening all over America and will continue to happen until new leadership takes hold in Washington.  The political machine from DC ran this race and no one can say it wasn't so.  We know it and they know we know it.  We have the proof even if the Tiny Union will not print it.

As the recount begins today, keep praying that David will beat Goliath.

God bless Jacksonville and God bless America.

I know that a few days have passed.  I was shocked Alvin Brown won but not too terribly.  I am a Conservative/Republican/Tea partier etc etc but Mike Hogan did not do it for me.  I watched the debates etc and he truly came off as aloof and arrogant.  He may be the nicest person in the world but I heard it from several, several of my friends.  They said they only voted for him because the alternative was to vote to a Democrat (and that couldn't happen).  I thought Alvin Brown was actually one of the better debaters up there (unlike the silly sniping with Mullaney and Moran which was shameful).  I don't really want a Democrat who wants to spend so much of our money on overhauling basically just downtown Jax but hopefully he will do some of the other good things he spoke of--maybe?  I think we need more business people in political positions now--ie, Herman Cain for President.  There's my man and vote.  Now, I'm going off subject.  Can you tell it's late?  Let's pray for Jacksonville and that things will work out for everyone regardless if there is a Dem or Rep. in office of Mayor.

Night Billie,

I'm terrible at picking, Ms. Sawyer can tell ya so.

I blogged as much as possible but the campaign wasn't in it, that is not our fault, my constitution is the same today as it was 25 years ago.

God bless the USA

Sorry Trish,

:-p

We are all so tired and in shock right now.  Let's stop the back and forth.  Both of you are great people and words can be misconstrued.  Tim:  I agree with you.  The GOP did a lousy job and I plan to talk this soon.  The Hogan camp could have done a better job.  The machine kicked our butts and we are licking our wounds.  At first I was so ticked and then I realized that this will only make us stronger.  More people will wake up and help win Flroida for a "conservative."  What we have to be careful of is what the GOP feeds us for candidates.  We need to go get our own!  As for my precious Patricia - she is one great worker in this movement and she was upset because this is not the time to talk about "poop."  We've been pooped on all day:)  Can we call a truce and realize that we are all in this together and together we will win.  However, if we do see a real liberal/progressive show up - I'm kicking them out from now on.  No more nice guy.  It's time to keep this website a sacred place for conservatives to gather and gain steam together.  God bless everyone and go to bed.  We must regain our composure and get to work soon.  Thanks.

What have I pointed out that isn't relevant?

Did I say that the FCTP was responsible for bad decisions made by the Republican party?

"why are you here"

I thought I was joining a group that had the same ideals, but maybe I just responded to a couple of hormone wacked out girls, which is always entertaining.

I voted for Hogan, even donated a little money, his campaign and it's managers were living in another world.

Are you...

Tim., this is probably a stupid question, but why are you here?  Do you like to poop on people or do you just like pointing out things that are not relevant..  How is the FCTP responsible for bad decisions made by the republican party?  Inquiring minds would like to know?   Or Maybe you dislike the city enough to wish Brown on us or maybe you voted for him or >>>??????

LOL!

Love the cat fight.

Hogans campaign came right out of the pews of FBC, unfortunately that is not how you play politics with the DNC.

The man (Hogan) was soundly whipped by a few neighborhoods, that is incredible.

Hogan never had any steam and his campaign managers should stick to organizing local soccer meets.

This was another "lets elect McCain" but not really support him.

The Republican party is in shambles, unless Reagan comes back from the grave, Obama will win a second term too.

So that no one misunderstands my intent.  Thsi is th exact quote from the TU (our wonderful newspaper that has been so fair and just that I just love so much I cancelled our subsciption).

Alvin Brown will be Jacksonville's first African-American mayor, beating Republican Mike Hogan by 1,627 votes.  Read more at Jacksonville.com: http://jacksonville.com/news/florida/2011-05-18/story/alvin-brown-w...

Are we all grateful.  Geez, I know I am, and I can hardly wait.  Amanda, I don't know what you do for a living, but if you came on here to garner support for Brown, please don't bother on my behalf (he probably won't have my support given the method he won this election>>>>>>>>>>>>>hmmmm so sorry and it's isn't out of meanness or what ever you accused me of)  Now into the pch thing you seemed to want to delve into.  I learned only one really good serious thing from all the courses I took both Psychology and Sociology.  If someone comes at you with a knife or a gun, pray you aren't in a crowd or you are dead.  The example they always seem to want to use is a woman knifed to death in a full crowd including people looking out apartment windows; no one helped her and she died.  That's it total.  If you ony have one or may be 2 people around someone will help you other wise the crowd will always wait for someone else to help you and you are dead.  As far as those folks that took courses in high school or college, try to understand, you should have taken math or science, if you really think you can sit around playing with people's minds, it won't happen.  You can get a Masters degree and then, if you can get a job in you field, you will be working under a person who is a doctor (no joke) with a specialty in Psychology.  Just in case you are curious!

Folks, please, let's take a deep breath and a few moments to THINK.  This mayoral election was tough, and a test of the ideals of the tea party. We are all edgy on the results, but let's not take our frustrations, anxieties, and fears out on each other. Let's face the future united.

RYAN NICHOLS - Hardened Criminal?? Seriously??

If you're not already aware. This is what's going on in DC while dangerous criminals are allowed back out on the streets.  It's horrifying that this is happening to our citizens and veterans for protesting the hijacking of our election process. This is still happening! They are STILL being tortured and treated like full on terrorists.

You may not be aware of the typical things they're forced to go through...…
