The Mayor's Race: A City Divided

There is not a big win for either camp this morning.  The city is divided and the winner will come down to a few hundred votes.

There will be accusations and yelling in a room filled with lawyers.  The Supervisor of Elections office will once again be thrown into the mix of political warfare as they look at every ballot cast.

The 30+% of people who voted will wait for the final count.

And behind the scenes, MoveOn.org and Organizing for America will be preparing their paid people to protest should it not go their way.

The Tiny Union will write stories about the land slide victory if their man wins.  They will write about the stolen election if ours does.

We’ve seen this before and nothing ever changes.  Nothing will ever change until the rest of Duval County wakes up and realizes because they didn’t vote, they will now be led by a handful of people – like them or not.

And let this be known…

If Mike Hogan wins, we will be thankful.

If Alvin Brown wins, we will not “throw ourselves behind him” because Mr. Brown chose to ignore the tea party members and chose to ignore the many questions posed to him about his background.  We will not go away and we will continue to ask the questions until they are answered.   The questions are too important to be ignored.

And…we will not rest until North Florida has a newspaper that investigates the stories and reports the facts.  The owners of the Tiny Union should be run out of town for not writing about the MoveOn.org and Organizing for America operatives AND for not doing a story on the questions posed to Mr. Brown.  They ignored these stories and for some reason, chose to denigrate Mike Hogan.

This is happening all over America and will continue to happen until new leadership takes hold in Washington.  The political machine from DC ran this race and no one can say it wasn't so.  We know it and they know we know it.  We have the proof even if the Tiny Union will not print it.

As the recount begins today, keep praying that David will beat Goliath.

God bless Jacksonville and God bless America.

Everyone seems to be focused on whether the Republican Party candidate, Mr. Mike Hogan or the Democrat Party candidate, Mr. Alvin Brown won or lost last nights contest for mayor of Jacksonville. The results of the recount will ultimately declare one or the other to be the winner but the truth is that neither the Republican Party nor the Democrat Party was victorious. Make no mistake, there was a winner and a loser in yesterdays election. The victory belongs to the Apathy Party which persuaded 63% of the registered voters in Duval County to cast there ballot for their candidate, Mr. I. Don't Care; and there were two losers, Freedom and the City of Jacksonville. Along the way we have uncovered some facts that should be noted...................... Mike Hogan has the values and principles to be an extraordinary mayor. Sadly, those qualities, which I admire, that would serve him and this city so well if he were elected handicap him as a candidate as he refused to denigrate his opponent. Mr. Brown is the better candidate because he does not feel bound by such a code of honor and this is why the city will not be well served if he is declared the winner.  The familiar quote "Fool me once, shame on you! Fool me twice, shame on me!" comes to mind as Duval County was fooled once by the insidious Barack Obama in 2008 with the help of a complicit liberal media AND fooled for the second time by Alvin Brown with help from the "conservative" Florida Times Union which has a politically motivated bias and went to extraordinary lengths to champion their misguided agenda by damning Mr Hogan while ignoring or covering up Mr. Brown's checkered past which included numerous encounters with the law and fictitious stated qualifications.......         And though there are many more observations such as voter fraud, brought to us courtesy of Obama operatives, and his emphasis on the importance of Duval County as the key to winning Florida during his 2012 re-electon bid; the true culprit in the further destruction of liberty is the more than 300,00 registered voters who chose not to be engaged in the election process. Congratulations to all of you in the Apathy Party. Your candidate won in a landslide.

In a way i can't believe only 30+% of Duval County voted, and yet i must. Are people to busy? Are they just lazy? Every election from City Council to the President of the United States are very important. Everyone should FIND the time to show up and vote. I am disabled, but i walked to my polling place anyway, it was painfully, but i did it because it was so very important to me and my family to do so. The 70-% of our illustrious citizens whom did NOT show up to vote should be ashamed of them selfs. I am Danny Kirkpatrick, and i am proud to an American.

Roma and Tom Cox, wrote,

"the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) has prosecuted more non-citizen voting cases in Florida than in any other state."

Too true, however,  the present administration has followed a distinct policy of disregarding immigration law, and doing everything legally possible to impede the Arizona law and the attempts by many other states to enact similar legislation. But we can rest easy, Janet Napolitano informs us that the border has never been so secure. Gee, thanks for telling the story Janet, but I prefer Westerns to Fairy Tales.

'Nuff said!

I'm not buying most of the Mayoral numbers. And I'm not buying the line that so many voted for someone like Clay Yarborough and then voted for Alvin Brown. The numbers don't add up that we have a near landslide of conservative city council seats and Alvin Brown as mayor.

How many total votes were placed in the non-mayoral races, as compared to the mayoral race?

The key to holding back a lot of the cheating is POLL WATCHERS, yet it's like pulling teeth to get them.  Sadly, I had to give up my position this year because I started a new job and could not take off the day.  But the GOP could not get enough poll watchers for election day, much less to cover all two weeks of early voting.  We MUST get serious about poll watching!!

@Jim, it's because people have tunnel vision and they think the only elections that matter are national elections.  They don't realize the State and Local elections are just as vital.

Did we forget the lessons of past elections? I thought the voters who ushered in Tea Party candidates would get out, vote and ensure we would not be ruled by liberal democrats. This is a prelude to the fight Jacksonville will see in 2012.

Can anyone say voter fraud?  The disgust I feel today is overwhelming, as I personally witnessed "walkers" in Atlantic Beach.  How do we find out the actual number of newly registered voters and the corresponding percentage of new voters for each party, (gee I wonder what the results would show... 90% of new registrants, Democrat?); verify the addresses provided for all new registrants to see if they are valid; follow up with phone calls and door to door visits to determine if these people really live there and demand to see the Identification provided at the voter polls - especially the polls that had the largest numbers of new voters.  Will the National Republican Party help back an investigation?

I agree Michael, and I believe in most places "buying" votes is illegal.

But "we" never press it or prosecute it.

The largest enabler of voter fraud, and believe me it was always the intent, is early voting.

Vote early. Vote often.

It's not a joke and was the intent of early voting from day one.

In the 2008 election several cities, like Indianapolis, had far more votes than registered voters.

Where is the investigation? Mitch Daniels is a rising star in republican circles and is the governor of Indiana. Where is the investigation of massive voter fraud in his state?

And Kurt, no one has yet mentioned that tax cheat Timmy is now spending their retirement funds waiting for a debt ceiling increase (and wonder how he plans to put that money back if no debt ceiling increase actually happens).  It is truly a mess, and these folks clearly do not understand that REAL budgeting is going to have to be done moving forward!

RYAN NICHOLS - Hardened Criminal?? Seriously??

If you're not already aware. This is what's going on in DC while dangerous criminals are allowed back out on the streets.  It's horrifying that this is happening to our citizens and veterans for protesting the hijacking of our election process. This is still happening! They are STILL being tortured and treated like full on terrorists.

You may not be aware of the typical things they're forced to go through...…
