TU: 2 new members picked for Jacksonville Ethics Commission

Time to take a very close look at these choices I would think and make sure they don't have any baggage we are not hearing about?

A law school professor and a mortgage service executive have been named to seats on Jacksonville's Ethics Commission.

Cynthia Irvin was appointed this week by Chief Circuit Judge Donald R. Moran Jr. A week earlier, Public Defender Matt Shirk appointed Joe Jacquot, senior vice president for government affairs at Lender Processing Services.

The volunteer posts are unpaid, and require confirmation by the City Council, although commissioners can serve before the council votes on them.

Irvin is a former prosecutor and city lawyer who teaches at Florida Coastal School of Law.

"I teach my students that ethical behavior starts with the most basic issues (such as accurate time-keeping and responsible use of office supplies) and permeates all aspects the practice of law and of life," she wrote in an application to the commission last month.

Irvin, also a former guardian ad litem, directs the Family Law Clinic at Florida Coastal.

Jacquot was Florida's deputy attorney general from 2007 to 2010. The job included arguing before the U.S. Supreme Court, leading the legal strategy behind the state's challenge to federal health care reform and chairing an inter-agency task force on public records.

He was deputy chief counsel for the U.S. Senate judiciary Committee before that.

The appointments fill the nine-member board, but new members are scheduled to be picked soon for three other commission slots.

RYAN NICHOLS - Hardened Criminal?? Seriously??

This is what's going on in DC while dangerous criminals are allowed back out on the streets.  It's horrifying that this is happening to our citizens and veterans for protesting the hijacking of our election process. This is still happening! They are STILL being tortured and treated like full on terrorists.

You may not be aware of the typical things they're forced to go through...…
