TU: Pam Bondi sends new maps to the Supreme Court

Apparently, this is to nip the lawsuits in the bud?   If the court approves the maps, they are approved and lawsuits are over I would think (since approval will say approval of current maps which should mean they are not likely to change their minds).

Attorney General Pam Bondi Friday sent the Legislature's newly-minted redistricting maps to the Florida Supreme Court, which has 30-days to give them a thumbs up or thumbs down.

The Supreme Court's approval is needed for the new House and Senate maps. Gov. Rick Scott needs to sign-off on the new congressional maps to take effect.

Of course, this is all dependent on how two lawsuits challenging the maps play out. The Florida Democratic Party and a group of voter-rights organization filed the challenges Thursday shortly after the final map votes.
