WND: Witness counters Trayvon Martin media narrative; Says 17-year-old was beating Zimmerman before shooting
Since the NAACP (Al Sharpton and others) is treating this like a cold blooded murder, and we are treated to pictures of this young man when he was 9 or 10 rather than as he looks now which is quite different and more ominous to someone, it tends to slant how people feel about this case, and the media has made a circus of it when the facts are not even yet known. The NAACP also voiced concerns about Angela Corey being the lead investigator on the case. http://jacksonville.com/news/crime/2012-03-23/story/naacp-has-some-... And then, of course, Obama has weighed in, and I, for one, am still scratching my head trying to figure out what possible bearing this young man possibly looking like the son he does not have could possibly have on this case..............or even why he felt the need to weigh in on this case at all from the federal level. Now, however, a witness has come forward who has indicated, Mr. Zimmerman had a right to be fearful for his life which throws a totally different light on things, and we will have to carefully watch how this investigation moves forward since this case is now in the national spotlight.
Maybe George Zimmerman did act in self-defense when he shot and killed Trayvon Martin, whose death Feb. 26 in Sanford, Florida, has been the focus of a media and political circus that even included Barack Obama weighing in this week.
An eyewitness to the incident told police Martin was beating Zimmerman before he shot him.
Zimmerman had called 911 to report the suspicious activities of a youth in his neighborhood, telling the dispatcher that he was following Martin.
On the recording of another 911 call, repeated cries of “help” can be heard before the gunshot.
The witness, identified only as John, says those cries were made by Zimmerman who was on the ground being beaten by Martin.
“The guy on the bottom who had a red sweater on was yelling to me: ‘help, help … and I told him to stop and I was calling 911,” he said.
Martin was wearing a gray hoodie, while Zimmerman was wearing red.
“When I got upstairs and looked down, the guy who was on top beating up the other guy, was the one laying in the grass, and I believe he was dead at that point,” John said.
Zimmerman claimed the shooting was self-defense. Zimmerman said he was going back to his SUV when he was attacked by the teen. Sanford police say Zimmerman was bloody in his face and head, and the back of his shirt was wet and had grass stains, indicating a struggle took place before the shooting.
Meanwhile, the attack has been portrayed by most media outlets as a racist, vigilante-style assault by Zimmerman – a half-Hispanic, half-white, self-style neighborhood crime-watch captain – on an innocent role-model black teen-ager carrying only a cell phone and some Skittles.
Obama weighed in on the shooting Friday, saying the incident requires all Americans to “do some soul searching.”

If Zimmerman is found to have committed a chargeable crime, he will spend a long time in jail.............what's your hurry to try and convict him. Why not let them do the investigation and gather ALL of the facts first. I have heard explanations about the phone call, and it will do little good if Zimmerman was attacked and the young man made an action that looked like he was pulling a gun out...........and right now, I am also hearing that. So maybe he is guilty and maybe he isn't guilty, but I will not be trying and convicting him here and now. He is entitled to the same protections everyone is entitled to Amanda and I don't know if he is guilty or even has committed a crime at this point and neither do you. I am also not going to try to tell someone else how to do their job. They have already said they are investigating. Please understand I am not agreeing or disagreeing with you. I am just saying I am not going to rush to judgement!

...they don't need enough evidence to convict just enough for probable cause. This is what failure looks like.

I know a boy is dead. I know who killed him. I have heard Mr, Zimmerman's call to 911 in which he calls him a f###king coon. They conducted a drug test on the victim but nothing on Zimmerman. I would say that if you want to gather evidence in a case such as this you issue an arrest warrant. Any judge anywhere would sign it. If this had been a black man shooting a white boy under these circumstances I have no doubt he would have been charged with something. I find it hard to believe that there is any justifiable cause in this case. Citizens do not habe, nor have they ever had the right to kill someone without extraordinary circumstances. The victim being black is no longer valid, sorry we left those days behind.

They did not arrest Zimmerman, because they have not finished investigating and now they have a witness, so unlike you, they are not going to try and convict Zimmerman without investigating and allowing him a trial. I don't know who did what or even what anyone is guilty of, but you appear to have already tried and convicted someone.

Patricia, I think most people find it unbelievable that Zimmerman remains unarrested. He left his vehicle to chase down this kid. If the kid fought back when a stranger tried to restrain him, that seems like self-defense. You cannot attack someone and claim self-defense at the same time. And if a white kid had been shot by a black man under these circumstances I think we can imagine a different outcome.

If you're not already aware. This is what's going on in DC while dangerous criminals are allowed back out on the streets. It's horrifying that this is happening to our citizens and veterans for protesting the hijacking of our election process. This is still happening! They are STILL being tortured and treated like full on terrorists.
