I was very surprised to receive an invitation to attend a rally in support of the government monopoly on education, specifically that funding for the government education monopoly should not be cut in spite of the fact that tax revenues are down.  Seems to me the only way to accomplish that would be to tax us more.  I thought TEA stood for Taxed Enough Already.

I got it too.  How do we find out what this is all about?  Someone please explain why this is not counterintuitive to the First Coast Tea Party fundamental values.

Confused.  This was not in support.  It was for you to attend and find out what they were saying at the rally.  If there was confusion in the message - that is our fault and we apologize.

Thanks for clearing that up.
Thanks for the quick reply Billie.

"Government Education"...good choice for a title!

We have done our children, Egypt, and one another a big disservice by referring to ourselves as a democracy, and are now paying the price for such misinformation.  Historically democracies have always ended in violent anarchy as the people protest government for handouts instead of freedom.

If teachers understood that the Founding Fathers created a republic (not a democracy: Mob Rule) they would be protesting for a limited government that would not have the power to take or give them anything.

In a Republic, teachers would not be working for the government, but for a free enterprise run by the parents of the children they teach . End the Department of Education...Government Run Education.

As a tutor, I have discovered that most people including myself and teachers, are not well informed about American History and the Constitution (in fact they have been given the wrong information).  For the last year and half, I have been doing an extensive study on both.

One of the things that intrigued me to learn is how many well educated people were telling me that a "One World Governing Power" would be a good thing.  They sincerely believe that is the only way to "control international banks and businesses, solve world hunger and pollution, ext.

While attending college in the 60′s I was taught that the U.S. was a “Democratic Republic”.  My Father would  rebuttal by saying, “no, we are a Republic.  Thinking my professors, and text books  knew more than my father, I dismissed his words.

But in more recent times, I notice students are being taught that the U.S. is a Democracy…leaving out Republic all together.  My curiosity began to get the best of me, and I discovered that in the 60′s (and even earlier)  the U.S. educational system began rewritin...: my father was right! We are not a democracy, nor are we a democratic republic.

As I dug even deeper, and studied the Constitution, I discovered some very interesting facts.  You see the Founding Fathers were against creating a Democracy because:

P.S. Don't get me wrong...teachers need to pay for part of their benefits .   I am only saying that over a period of many years we have been set up.  We have allowed our children to think we are a democracy (and many other false things), which is defined as mob rule.  As a result, they are behaving like it.  Historically democracies collapse in violence.  That is the concern I am expressing here.

It appears this will spread all over the U.S. as it has in the Middle East, with unbelievable division.  Some will behave like a mob because that is how democracies behave, and some will demonstrate for a return to the Constitution.  A return to the Constitution, and true education are the ultimate answer, and we had best not compromise on those things (except in the situation of an unavoidable temporary situation) .

Yeah I got the disgusting e-mail as well. Do I want to support the teachers in theri quest to continue to waste more of our taxpayers' money?
Absolutely not! How can a teacher also be a Tea Party member ? We have now had decades to see that throwing money at public education doesn't improve it. In fact, it has made it worse. What we need is to purge the system of liberalism.
I say counter demonstrate against the overpaid union member teachers.
Glad I haven't supported the FCTP if they are supporting the teacher's unions. I say dissolve the dept of Education and let the states and local citizens deal with education. There are reasons why home schoolers and parochial students perform better.

RYAN NICHOLS - Hardened Criminal?? Seriously??

If you're not already aware. This is what's going on in DC while dangerous criminals are allowed back out on the streets.  It's horrifying that this is happening to our citizens and veterans for protesting the hijacking of our election process. This is still happening! They are STILL being tortured and treated like full on terrorists.

You may not be aware of the typical things they're forced to go through...…
