I have a hard time with the endorsement of Mr. Taxman for Mayor. This after a visit to the local office to inquire about a replacement driver's license. We expect our leaders to lead by example, correct? Why then, were there 11 workers in the office, with only 4 patrons and it took over 30 minutes to conduct business? Is this an example of his direction? Why does the office need a greeter? And how many clerks do we really need in the middle of the month, 4 to conduct business and another 4, overcome with apathy, simply staring into space, mouths agape, with the other employees fixing the license plates on the wall, complaining about the crash of the computer system and the other just wandering aimlessly about.
I believe that Mr. Hogan has seen all those checks written to him by the Duval County taxpayers that he has come to believe that it might as well be his money. Not so. But you'll have a hard time convincing him of that. And the endorsement of the Police and Fire unions should be a clarion call to avoid him, but I digress....
Not this time.

The statement that Mike think's the checks written by taxpayers are his is about the most ridiculous statement I've read from the opposition. It is so lame.
One of the things that I always respected about bloggers here on this website is that, for the most part, they always gave logical reasons for their ideas, and did not resort to personal attacks. Let us not loose that over a free election.
Besides, the FCTP has simply given their opinion, but they understand, and promote freedom. They would not criticize anyone for voting their own conscience.
I was told that "Hogan wants to sell our preserve lands and green spaces...thats my other concern about him. If Im going to switch, it will be Mullaney as he will do everything he can to protect those lands."
Is it true? We don't need to be like South Florida where everyone and everything is on top of itself.
That's easy Keith it's a Union job and only so much can be done in a certain amount of time. Take a drive around town especially if you are waiting for AT&T to come to your house and watch them sitting in their trucks at the AT&T towers or areas around town rather than going to the next job and just getting it done!

I am sorry Theresa, but I disagree. I can subscribe to Dish Network, Verizon, Comcast, Sprint or pick one of many options not to have AT&T come to my house. However, I cannot simply dismiss the Mayor and whatever he wants the City Council to do or not do. IF it's all about the unions, then so be it. Let's go the route of Madison and fire them all (a la Reagan) and start over. When someone says that we're balancing the budget on the backs of city employees, why not? The budget was broken with the deals made by union employees after all.

I attended the Tea Party meeting last week. The straw poll was a joke. Any rational person listening to the three mayoral candidates answering the audiences questions could see Rick Mullaney is clearly the best candidate. Not answering questions? Let's start with Hogan's response (or some lack thereof) when asked how he could effectively try to reform Police and Fire Pension when he has their endorsement. He did NOT answer the questions. And what about Hogan's lack of attendance at Mayoral Forums (including tonights televised debates on local TV)? Hogan's consultants know what the voting public is now starting to figure out. Mike Hogan is trying to ride name recognition into office and he has absolutely no plan for the future of this great City. The Tea Party should be ashamed. This is "politics as usual", something I thought the Tea Party was above. If you care about the future of this City, then Vote For Rick Mullaney!
If you're not already aware. This is what's going on in DC while dangerous criminals are allowed back out on the streets. It's horrifying that this is happening to our citizens and veterans for protesting the hijacking of our election process. This is still happening! They are STILL being tortured and treated like full on terrorists.
You may not be aware of the typical things they're forced to go through...…
