I'm liking Herman Cain,  but I found this post on a Presidential Poll website.  Anyone know if any of it's true?  Frances

Folks, the following is worth reading. It is borrowed from http://www.humblelibertarian.com/2011/05/herman-cain-is-not-true-te...

Make NO MISTAKE about Herman Cain. Herman Cain is NO conservative. He is NO Tea Party candidate. He is an establishment Republican In Name Only. His positions on past issues are all we need to know that a Herman Cain presidency would not shrink the size of government, increase your liberties, or return America to its Constitution.

The Truth About Herman Cain.

DID YOU KNOW?

1. Herman Cain supported the TARP bailouts. He even wrote a column to vigorously argue in favor of the Wall Street bailout in 2008, writing: "Wake up people! Owning a part of the major banks in America is not a bad thing. We could make a profit while solving a problem." Cain derided opponents of the bailouts as "free market purists." That sounds more like something Rachel Maddow would call Tea Partiers than something a true Tea Partier would use as an insult.

2. Herman Cain enthusiastically endorsed Mitt Romney for President in 2008. Herman Cain called Mitt Romney his "No. 1 choice" for president. Remember that Mitt "RINO" brought socialized medicine to Massachusetts as governor, and his "RomneyCare" legislation would eventually form the blueprint for ObamaCare, which all true Tea Partiers strongly opposed! How can a "Tea Party candidate" like Herman Cain endorse someone like Mitt Romney for president?

3. Herman Cain opposes an audit of the Federal Reserve. Actually a former chairman of the Federal Reserve bank of Kansas City, Herman Cain opposes an audit of the Federal Reserve bank and supports its continued existence and manipulation of our dollar. This isn't even just a Tea Party issue. 80% of ALL AMERICANS want an audit of the Fed. Herman Cain doesn't.

You have a responsibility to your country not to let your fellow Americans be fooled by the false impression Herman Cain is working hard to cultivate about himself.

Please share this article with everyone you know-- especially people who have been fooled by Herman Cain's excellent speaking skills and carefully calculated lip service to the Tea Party's values. Herman Cain's record clearly shows that he supports bank bailouts, socialized medicine on a federal level, and the Fed's continued manipulation of the dollar to provide "stimulus" to the economy and enable Washington's runaway deficit spending. Herman Cain is NO TEA PARTY CANDIDATE.

At this time of crisis, America CANNOT afford to elect someone with such a spotty record of positions and endorsements. We absolutely must elect someone with a die-hard record of unyielding commitment to liberty, someone who we absolutely KNOW will shrink the size, role, and influence of the government in Washington. There are only two such candidates on the Republican field today: Rep. Ron Paul and Gov. Gary Johnson.

Thank you for reading.

The negative information out there on Herman Cain seems to be increasing at an exponential rate.  I am doing research on Herman Cain and expect to be completed with it with in the next week or two.

Many of the sites that disparage Mr. Cain have strong libertarian ties, there is nothing wrong with that, but it does show a questionable pattern. Mr. Messamore is a strong supporter of libertarian candidates and states such on his blog-radio show.

I must disclose, though, that I have been a Cain listener for almost 3 years now.

1. Many prominent conservatives supported the INITIAL TARP.  I believe some months ago the government recovered all of it.

2. How was supporting Mitt Romney NOT conservative?  Wouldn't Mitt have been a much better choice than John McCain,  a genuine RINO?  I had to hold my nose to vote for him, even with Sara Palin on the ticket.

3. Sure Herman opposes an audit.  He wants to eradicate it.  Look into his 9-9-9 plan.

The Ron Paul people strike me as pseudo-conservative lefties,  as radical as the Occupy Wall Street crowd.  Everything they say must be taken with a lot of salt because they will twist anything.  He's not a party, He's a cult.

Herman said and still maintains his initial support for TARP. He's also stated repeatedly -- and it's not convenient for some to report this aspect -- his strong opposition to how it was implemented.

Open Secrets and Numbers USA are not Libertarian websites...nor are his own words in the video.

1.  A former chairman of Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City and senior adviser to the 1996 presidential campaign of Republicans Bob Dole and Jack Kemp, Cain has regularly opened his wallet for political allies, and he even operates his own political action committee, called the Hermanator PAC.

Go to 7:16 and tell me what he says about the FED.....

Karen, Roma & Tom;  The only thing I follow 100% is my nose.

Of the three issues you've presented I have little to no problem with Herman Cain's thoughtful positions.   They're not deal breakers.   Cain takes a realistic view on many issues and low-life political operatives will use this as a wedge to split off one-issue voters.   -And make no mention of the "logs in the eye" of their candidates.

While I define myself as a Libertarian; I have a hell of a lot of problems with Ron Paul (another topic) and his Democrat-like political tactics of his lefty followers.

Cain is the most open & vocal of all the candidates.   To present snipits & soundbites in an effort portray  Herman as a stealth candidate slipping in sheep's clothing under the radar of the Tea Party, just doesn't hold water.  Herman Cain's fundamentals are sound.  We'll always differ on the nuances of every issue.  And Realists are never going to be popular for many...  (take the abortion issue for example)

Even after watching & reading all your "evidence" I'm still not convinced he is not our best choice -so far.  But keep presenting evidence, I'm open to change.

Roma & Tom;  Was your list supposed to be against Cain?  You left out the Huffington Post.  -anti corporate globalist complaining about how somebody spends his own money is a scandal?

Reading it through,  I frankly can't tell for sure which side you're taking.

So, Who are you backing?

Note "libertarian" in the web address.  I suspect this is written by a Ron Paul supporter.  Go to hermancain.com, watch the videos, read the information on his stances and make up your own mind.

Here is how the tarp money was paid back...not!

Congress recently gave the Federal Reserve power to do automatic bailouts without Congressional oversight ..  Guess who bailed out  Greece.  That's  right...you!

http://articles.businessinsider.com/2010-05-03/news/30032465_1_bail...

It is not my place to tell you who  to vote for...you decide based on the facts, and if the facts I have presented are a plus for Cain or a minus for Cain, that is up to you to decide.

I have learned, the hard way,  that people will say one thing to get elected only to do just the opposite once elected.  Congress is full of them.  so I now look beyond the surface (their campaign speeches and websites) on each and every candidate before voting.   In doing so, I have found there are no perfect candidates...just human beings.  But some are closer to the Constitution than others, and that is what I look for in a candidate.

I want a limited government as is spelled out in the Constitution so the people can be left alone to solve the economic problems we now face . Others look to the government and the Federal Reserve to provide solutions for the economy.

P.S. I do not think Debbie G was implying libertarians are liers, only that they ignore the negative sides of their own candidate...biased if you will.  After all libertarians are allies wanting smaller government, and a return to the Constitution as do Conservatives. RYAN NICHOLS - Hardened Criminal?? Seriously??

If you're not already aware. This is what's going on in DC while dangerous criminals are allowed back out on the streets.  It's horrifying that this is happening to our citizens and veterans for protesting the hijacking of our election process. This is still happening! They are STILL being tortured and treated like full on terrorists.

You may not be aware of the typical things they're forced to go through...…
