CNS News: Pelosi: Amend the First Amendment

To say I literally can't stand this woman might be an understatement, but for her to be involved in anything about rewriting the constitution or anyone of her ilk touching our founding documents, makes me ill.  I guess we have to hope folks are smarter than they were when they approved the 16th amendment by being tricked into believing the fairy tale they were told about the addition of the 16th amendment (ie  it was only going to be a very small amount and it was good for the…

The Fiscal Times: Obama Risks $100 Billion If Catholic Hospitals Close

Like everything else this administration does that is totally based on personal ideology and not based on common sense, the constitution or reality, this mandate to make people violate their religious beliefs will have a profound impact on our health care system when the Catholic church refuses to commit a mortal sin by bending to this Godless administration in Washington (my personal opinion).

In a nutshell, we would love the following according…

TU: Jacksonville could face federal lawsuit over discrimination in firefighter promotion tests

I don't think this ever ends.  Unless the results instead of the opportunity are equal, they aren't going to be happy.  You can't make someone be good at their job............they have to want to excell and should not be given a promotion unless they do as people's lives depend on them being every bit as good as they should be at every level.  This garbage is insane when it comes to firemen and policemen.  The situations they deal with are at another whole level and just good…

TU: City of Jacksonville keeping its fuel costs under budget

This appears to be good news when few things in the city are.  I am happy to see that those who use the fuel and track it are keeping the amount used very much omnipresent.

TU: Gov. Rick Scott picks members for 'Stand Your Ground' task force

This is definitely something we all need to watch.  This is not a bad law; it allows us to take action to protect ourselves if we feel someone is trying to inflict serious bodily harm.  No one should be forced to do nothing or be charged with a crime for protecting themselves from someone trying to kill them or inflict serious bodily harm.  That's my opinion, what's yours?…

TU: Jacksonville councilman talks to FDOT about help keeping ferry running

This is an update to let everyone know what is going on with the Mayport ferry.  Mr. Gulliford seems to be staying right on top of this issue, and I hope he makes some headway with saving the ferry until a private entity can be found to take it over.

TU: Clay School Board chairwoman: Proposal could ease tensions over school prayer

It would appear a workable solution has been found to this problem in Clay County.  It seems a shame that a small group of folks who are against religion or at least appear to be stopping another group from practicing their freedom of religion.  I truly do not believe our religious freedom was ever meant to have some of the constraints on it that non religious zeolots which to impose on this issue.  What's your opinion?…

TU: Not all feel welcome to Jacksonville mayor's interfaith breakfast

This is much ado about nothing, but it was interesting to see all the discussion about what the constitution actually said about religion and the forced establishment of same.  Mayor Brown from my perspective has done nothing wrong at all, and kados to him for a "sold out house".  Let those who are not happy about this stay home..............and since there aren't any seats left for them anyway, they shouldn't worry about…

What are these folks thinking of?  They are violating federal law as our representatives and at our jeopardy.  We will be held accountable for the money spent that is seen in violation..............?#!?/

Front Porch: Barack Obama Funds Kenyan “Economic Opportunities” As Americans Lose Jobs

I did a double take too!  This is unreal.  So many Americans don't have jobs and he is down in Kenya helping their economy.............and trying to improve things.  I am having a hard time being charitable about this, since we have folks who have lost their homes, their jobs, in some cases, their families and with gas prices, if they still have a job and home, it is getting harder and harder to just put food on the table.  And his highness is doing this!…

Heritage Foundation: Top 10 Most Expensive Obamacare Taxes and Fees

This is amazing, and ruins our health care system to boot.  There is a huge amount of information on Heritage about the costs of health care and all the new taxes and penalties.  As pointed out in the article, these are only 10 of the 18 new taxes which will take place between 2010 and 2019.  Follow the link at the bottom of the article for more information.…

Human Events: Your ongoing Obama green energy disaster of the day: Fisker Automotive

This is an ongoing saga, and never ending.  Yet another "green" boon doggle with tax payer money for jobs in, of all places, Finland.  That will do all those unemployed Americans a lot of good now, won't it.

Organic Consumers Assoc.: Is Vermont's Governor Surrendering to Monsanto? Bill H 722

And we are all in this mess.  Monsanto is putting genetically modified foods in the markets for us to buy and NOT labeling them for what they are.  Vermont and some other states want to force labeling that is accurate so they know what they are buying, and our federal government will probably support Monsanto if they sue the state for passing a bill requiring labeling.  This is horrendous, and Monsanto has too long run rough shawed over Americans (while other countries won't even…

TU: Glynn County could raise property taxes 35 percent to meet revenue shortfall

You know what?  I am so sick of this foolishness of comparing oneself with others in an effort to make it look like you are doing someone a favor when you raise their taxes, because they really are getting a "good deal".  What world do these lunatics come from anyway?  If you raise my taxes, I take it personally, and I don't care what someone in another town pays.................I am focused on what I am being fleeced for given some of the foolishness these elected…

TU: St. Johns River gets $5.6 million in Florida budget; Cunningham Creek kindergarteners watch as he signs.

Although I applaud the governor for helping fund the project to keep the St. Johns restoration going, isn't this called an ear mark when Mr. Thrasher bends the governor's ear about it?  Just asking as it seems to me when one touts getting something like this put in the budget, it is an ear mark (used to make Thrasher look good). …

TU: Duval board weighs flawed Schools for the Future; may be continued under promise of a new leader.

Recommend you read this as it will give you chills.  This is a program that apparently has not been run properly from the start and didn't even have "a proper curriculum".  More money flushed without even a plan or accountability apparently.  Getting a new leader is only a solution if what is wrong to start with is fixed too!

TU: PolitiJax: Council committees endorse $2 million incentive for Winn-Dixie (Bill #2012-200)

I am not sure how to feel about this as these incentives have replaced property tax breaks and other incentives that used to be used............somehow, I never really thought about using incentives all that much until we began to see the actual price tag in tax dollars coming out of our pockets.  And now, it is major.  You thoughts?

RYAN NICHOLS - Hardened Criminal?? Seriously??

If you're not already aware. This is what's going on in DC while dangerous criminals are allowed back out on the streets.  It's horrifying that this is happening to our citizens and veterans for protesting the hijacking of our election process. This is still happening! They are STILL being tortured and treated like full on terrorists.

You may not be aware of the typical things they're forced to go through...…
