RESPECT - We got a little bit, Baby!

Last night CNN hosted the first ever Tea Party debate with Tea Party Express and more than 150 tea party groups across the country.

It was a historic night and the Tea Party Movement was given the respect it deserves.  The staff at CNN did an excellent job!  The people behind the scenes who help those in front of the screens were professional, supportive and patriotic.  Those in front of the screen were too and willingly gave the tea party the microphone for the day.

Tea Party Express has spent nearly a year working with CNN on this debate.  The Florida Tea Party Group leaders helped fill the seats with Florida Tea Party Members.  Tea Party Express never took center stage and instead gave the applause to individual tea party groups nationwide.  Tea Party Express has proven their heart to the tea party groups and earned our respect for their hard work.

The candidates made sure they shook hands with attendees afterwards in the debate hall and at the After Debate Party.  From the conversations at the party, it appears there was no clear front runner but two were crossed off the list.  Huntsman came across as an elite politician and Ron Paul went over the top with blaming America for the 9/11 tragedy.  There will still be the strong Ron Paul supporters who will argue that point – but the tea party members have had enough with Mr. Paul.

Rick Perry took a beating for some of his policies and admitted he made some mistakes along the way.  Mitt still will not admit he was wrong about Romneycare.  The tea party is strong on wanting that apology but it seems we will not get it.  Santorum had a great moment when he called out Ron Paul on his 9/11 stance.  Cain plays the “Godfather” role well and the audience loves his answers.  Newt's one ling zingers are always fun.  Michelle knew more about Obamacare than anyone else on the stage and is adamant about repealing it in 2012.  The tea party stands with her on that issue.

We will be packing up and heading home today.  My feet hurt and we are exhausted.  But the good outweighs the bad.  We are proud of last night.  We hope America and those who called us names we did not deserve, saw who “we the tea” really are.  We are America and we are proud to be a part of this movement.  We will continue to stay together and work together to unseat President Obama and many of his far left friends in Congress.  It is our time now and we will not rest until America is returned to her Constitutional footing once again.

Thank you CNN, Tea Party Express, all the candidates and the tea party members from Florida and across the country.   Respect was the word of the night and it felt good to feel that again.  We will be singing this all the way home today and we hope you will join us in a chorus across America.  Respect.

God bless and safe travels.

Good point, Steve.  And it makes sense.  Think you've convinced me.  And Rubio would probably do more good as a Senator in a, hopefully, Conservative Senate sans Reid after November, 2012.  But if he is chosen to be the vice-presidential candidate, I would support him whole-heartedly.

Being in Washington should not be what 'corrupts' people to the process.  If they are good people they should be able to fight the corruption regardless of how long they in office.  Look at Ron Paul over 2 decades in Washington and he has not succumbed to the corruption.

I understand were you are coming from both also remember when we put people in office that have no experience we get people like Obama not saying that Rubio would be like that at all just drawing a comparison.  I don't think it is a good idea for someone, in any field, to jump to quickly.  Also if he become VP and then President after that what is there for him he would be out of politics and we would lose him.  I've never heard of anyone going back to Congress after holding those office.  Maybe start him at a high cabinet position or something but to jump to VP I think is too fast right now.

As someone that campaigned hard for Marco Rubio in District #501 in 2010, it's upsetting when I hear he is too young and inexperienced to be a vice presidential candidate.  If "experience" means the Washington, D.C. way, them I'm all for "INexperience."  Aren't we trying to expel those "seasoned" politicians....both Republican and Democrat that have a political-power mindset in D.C.?  How satisfying it would be to see a Rubio-Biden one-on-one debate on tv.   Picture the visual of a vibrant, very eloquent speaker next to the old, tired-looking politician of the past.  Let's face it, we now live in a "hollywood" America where appearance means votes as well as principles and ideas.

@Doyle,

I stand corrected, sir! And it sure doesn't hurt my feelings.

As far as the quote, I did not hear or read it directly from Rubio. If I remember correctly, it was in a WND article quoting Rubio. His "doubts" about eligibility ran along the lines of the dems would bring out all the big guns against him, because of all the hoopla over Obama's eligibility, and he doubted he could win the day, as neither of his parents were naturalized at his birth.

Again, this is from memory. I would need a second huge hard drive to keep and organize everything i read!! (and it may be worth it)

I am very glad to find the truth about Marco's eligibility. He is a man we need in high places.

Very well said.  I think Romney or Perry would only slow the decent, and maybe saying change the direction of the decent is more appropriate.  Just like Bush 2 sped it up a little bit more then Clinton just in different ways I think either of those two would do the same thing.  All of the candidates that I think might actually stand a real chance of helping won't win.  Cain, Bachmann (and I'm still not sure about her) and of course Ron Paul.  Paul would be the only one that could get us back to true liberty and freedom because he is the only one that really understand what those terms even mean.

As much as I would like to say Ron Paul is going to win I just don't see that happening because like Juan said he is the only true threat to the hidden government.  As much as I hate to say it I think Romney will be the one that ends up with the nominee but four years ago I would never have thought anyone but Hillary would be the nominee either so I still am hopeful.  Regardless of who I think is going to win I'm still going to be out trying to wake as many people up to Ron Paul and his ideas as possible and if enough of us do that he might be able to pull it out.  If he can get past the primary he will crush Obama in a debate and in the election.

Juan; I too believe there exists THE shadow government and I think it is rooted in the C.F.R.  Our taxes are collected and I've been told go directly into the IMF (financial house of CFR).  It doesn't bother me knowing of the FED and their ability to print all the paper money they want.  Then we are soooo amazed that the SSI ponzi scheme could have been allowed to exist!?!  Wonder of all Wonders.  I think Ron Paul married a shairia moslem woman way back when.  LOL.

Kurt; if Rubio doubts he is eligible to hold the office of president, he is automatically dismissing all of the "anchor baby claims of criminal invaders".  This while his parents were granted asylum and ultimately became naturalized citizens.  I have no personal knowledge of Rubio's claim of ineligibility except through this discussion between you and Doyle.  My first tendency is to believe Rubio is a citizen, born here from parents granted asylum, which in my estimation carries a difference in the "anchor baby" issue.

Sorry, but you're wrong.

Below is a link that provides the specifics on what "natural born" is defined as when it comes to the presidency.

http://www.usconstitution.net/consttop_citi.html

Born in Miami, Marco Rubio meets the qualifications.

If you would, I'd like a citation (from a reputable source, of course) with the direct quote from Rubio in which he expresses doubt that he meets those requirements.

@Doyle,

Not according to the constitutional attorneys claiming Obama does not meet the requirements. They say in situations where either parent is naturalized, both parents must be citizens AT THE TIME OF BIRTH. Marco says both his parents were naturalized, but not until after he was born. Marco personally doubts he is eligible.

@ Kurt

Marco Rubio's parents were born in Cuba. After fleeing to the United States they became citizens. That means that they are NATURALIZED citizens. But that has nothing to do with whether or not Rubio meets the birth requirements for the Presidency.

The Constitution requires that the president be a NATURAL-BORN citizen, generally meaning that the person must be born IN the United States.

Rubio was and, therefore, meets the birth requirement.

RYAN NICHOLS - Hardened Criminal?? Seriously??

If you're not already aware. This is what's going on in DC while dangerous criminals are allowed back out on the streets.  It's horrifying that this is happening to our citizens and veterans for protesting the hijacking of our election process. This is still happening! They are STILL being tortured and treated like full on terrorists.

You may not be aware of the typical things they're forced to go through...…
