RESPECT - We got a little bit, Baby!

Last night CNN hosted the first ever Tea Party debate with Tea Party Express and more than 150 tea party groups across the country.

It was a historic night and the Tea Party Movement was given the respect it deserves.  The staff at CNN did an excellent job!  The people behind the scenes who help those in front of the screens were professional, supportive and patriotic.  Those in front of the screen were too and willingly gave the tea party the microphone for the day.

Tea Party Express has spent nearly a year working with CNN on this debate.  The Florida Tea Party Group leaders helped fill the seats with Florida Tea Party Members.  Tea Party Express never took center stage and instead gave the applause to individual tea party groups nationwide.  Tea Party Express has proven their heart to the tea party groups and earned our respect for their hard work.

The candidates made sure they shook hands with attendees afterwards in the debate hall and at the After Debate Party.  From the conversations at the party, it appears there was no clear front runner but two were crossed off the list.  Huntsman came across as an elite politician and Ron Paul went over the top with blaming America for the 9/11 tragedy.  There will still be the strong Ron Paul supporters who will argue that point – but the tea party members have had enough with Mr. Paul.

Rick Perry took a beating for some of his policies and admitted he made some mistakes along the way.  Mitt still will not admit he was wrong about Romneycare.  The tea party is strong on wanting that apology but it seems we will not get it.  Santorum had a great moment when he called out Ron Paul on his 9/11 stance.  Cain plays the “Godfather” role well and the audience loves his answers.  Newt's one ling zingers are always fun.  Michelle knew more about Obamacare than anyone else on the stage and is adamant about repealing it in 2012.  The tea party stands with her on that issue.

We will be packing up and heading home today.  My feet hurt and we are exhausted.  But the good outweighs the bad.  We are proud of last night.  We hope America and those who called us names we did not deserve, saw who “we the tea” really are.  We are America and we are proud to be a part of this movement.  We will continue to stay together and work together to unseat President Obama and many of his far left friends in Congress.  It is our time now and we will not rest until America is returned to her Constitutional footing once again.

Thank you CNN, Tea Party Express, all the candidates and the tea party members from Florida and across the country.   Respect was the word of the night and it felt good to feel that again.  We will be singing this all the way home today and we hope you will join us in a chorus across America.  Respect.

God bless and safe travels.

I've read a number of articles on Ron Paul over the years and I truely think he is definitely a HAWK.

One thing you can say about Ron Paul is that his views are always consistent.

After his "its our fault speech" I tuned him out, but after all is said and done you have to admire the guy for speaking the truth as he sees it, never spinning. That is really the only beef I have with Ron, but I have to admit , there probably is SOME truth to what he believes.

Now that I have calmed down a bit, I'm realizing he is the only TRUE constitutionalist available. He will reduce our miliary presence, but I also believe he will be hard nosed on DEFENSE. If he gets in, he'll be a hated curse to the liberals, and we know that can't be bad. I hope the old boy can make it 8 years.

@Doyle

I would say the biggest difference is the point of view that they are coming from.  Reverend Wright said it out of spitefulness to America and Ron Paul is saying it more as a teaching lesson and how our country can, and should be better in the future if we use it as a learning experience.  If you boil it down though there really isn't anything.  I don't know Reverend Wrights entire position on the subject all I know is the soundbite that I hear on Hannity all the time so I could be way off base.

If you are trying to say because Reverend Wright and Ron Paul have a common view on one things that in someway makes what Ron Paul said less right it doesn't.  Having a similar viewpoint with a man like Reverend Wright does not change the facts it simple shows that even someone like Wright can be right sometimes.  You know the old saying even the sunshine's on a dog's backside once in awhile (sorry if I misquoted the saying)

Could someone explain to me how Ron Paul's oft-stated opinion that the United States brought 9/11 down on itself differs from the same opinion stated by Reverend Wright.

L.N. Murray has it correct on his comment on the Jacksonville Stinking Times Onion rag.  The only purpose it provides is an indicator to B&E specialists you are not at home.  It is evident that the "moderators" not only had an agenda, but it was rehearsed, practised and scripted.  I wish that when they are hosted next by a conservative group, that the paticipants are huddled and scripted on how to rip the "moderators" a new one in the scenario Newt did.  They should "pile on" and thoroughly embarrass the network if it is one of hussein's medias.  They should trash the media's time.

@Mrs. Cox

Very well said I had not taken the time to go and look at what Ron Paul said as I know his position on the issue very well.  One thing about Ron Paul, even if you don't like him, is he is consistent in his message and what he says.  That is one thing that you can't say of any of the other politicians on the stage.

I like Herman Cain and I would say he is a close second behind Ron Paul but his answer on the Fed seriously worries me.  Rick Santorum is to much of a religious zealot and is too interested in controlling things that he has not business controlling.  I did like him last night but on social issues he is way to far out there (at least in my book).  I don't really want to trade one person that wants to control us for someone else that wants to control us just in different ways.  That is my biggest problem with most of the other candidates in the field.

That being said I would gladly have any one of them over the man that currently holds the office of President.

The debates were very helpful, one real Important factor for me to consider in making up my ever changing mind is RICK PERRY has serious TOXIC ASSETS to overcome and and they will be fuel for the Spin Masters as well as the DISASTER  who wishes to remain in our WHITEHOUSE.

I do have a Question for any one who has any urge left to vote for any Incumbent in office more than SIX years.

"WHAT PART OF FAILURE WOULD YOU WISH ME TO VOTE FOR"

Although Rick Santorum has not been in the top half of my list, I liked some of what he said last night until he laid into Ron Paul's 9-11 post. I don't follow RonPaul.com to find what Mr Santorum was referring to. Here is the first paragraph of it:

"Ten years ago shocking and horrific acts of terrorism were carried out on US soil, taking over 3,000 innocent American lives. Without a doubt, this action demanded retaliation and retribution. However, much has been done in the name of protecting the American people from terrorism that has reduced our prosperity and liberty and even made us less safe. This is ironic and sad, considering that the oft-repeated line concerning the reasoning behind the attacks is that they hate us for who we are – a free, prosperous people – and that we must not under any circumstances allow the terrorists to win."

the entire essay is here:
http://www.ronpaul.com/2011-09-11/ron-paul-on-911-ask-the-right-que...

I've read it twice to find what was so "irresponsible" (Santorum's word) about Dr Paul's posting of 9-11. What Dr Paul writes is factual and it in no way diminishes the  goodness of American people as Santorum insinuated.

So, goodbye Mr Santorum, you helped me shorten that list.

And Dr Paul, the more I hear and think about your philosophy, your constant defense of the constitution that I love, and your voting record including the bills you have introduced, and the more I hear media people thoughtlessly discount you, and the more I hear media people assume to pick "winners", the surer I feel that you are the candidate for our time, if we the people should be so fortunate and I pray we are.

It seems we now have at least four good choices, i.e. Michelle Bachmann made a very good presentation and is certainly articulate and knowledgeable; Newt Gingrich showed strength and stayed on the issues without the need to throw darts at the others; Herman Cain certainly can relate to the present struggle during these tough economic times and I loved his common sense approach on all the subjects without a lot of rhetoric - just plain facts; and lastly Rick Santorum (I didn't know much about him before the debate) really impressed me with the way he stood his ground and wasn't afraid to say what he thought even if it may have caused an ouchey with some of the politicians.  I've been wavering on Mitt and Rick P - but after hearing them, I've definitely crossed them off my list - they are both too "people-pleasing politicians" and I think they are saying what they are saying in the hopes it'll get the vote rather than standing for what is best for the people.  And that's my opinion.

RYAN NICHOLS - Hardened Criminal?? Seriously??

If you're not already aware. This is what's going on in DC while dangerous criminals are allowed back out on the streets.  It's horrifying that this is happening to our citizens and veterans for protesting the hijacking of our election process. This is still happening! They are STILL being tortured and treated like full on terrorists.

You may not be aware of the typical things they're forced to go through...…
