RESPECT - We got a little bit, Baby!

Last night CNN hosted the first ever Tea Party debate with Tea Party Express and more than 150 tea party groups across the country.

It was a historic night and the Tea Party Movement was given the respect it deserves.  The staff at CNN did an excellent job!  The people behind the scenes who help those in front of the screens were professional, supportive and patriotic.  Those in front of the screen were too and willingly gave the tea party the microphone for the day.

Tea Party Express has spent nearly a year working with CNN on this debate.  The Florida Tea Party Group leaders helped fill the seats with Florida Tea Party Members.  Tea Party Express never took center stage and instead gave the applause to individual tea party groups nationwide.  Tea Party Express has proven their heart to the tea party groups and earned our respect for their hard work.

The candidates made sure they shook hands with attendees afterwards in the debate hall and at the After Debate Party.  From the conversations at the party, it appears there was no clear front runner but two were crossed off the list.  Huntsman came across as an elite politician and Ron Paul went over the top with blaming America for the 9/11 tragedy.  There will still be the strong Ron Paul supporters who will argue that point – but the tea party members have had enough with Mr. Paul.

Rick Perry took a beating for some of his policies and admitted he made some mistakes along the way.  Mitt still will not admit he was wrong about Romneycare.  The tea party is strong on wanting that apology but it seems we will not get it.  Santorum had a great moment when he called out Ron Paul on his 9/11 stance.  Cain plays the “Godfather” role well and the audience loves his answers.  Newt's one ling zingers are always fun.  Michelle knew more about Obamacare than anyone else on the stage and is adamant about repealing it in 2012.  The tea party stands with her on that issue.

We will be packing up and heading home today.  My feet hurt and we are exhausted.  But the good outweighs the bad.  We are proud of last night.  We hope America and those who called us names we did not deserve, saw who “we the tea” really are.  We are America and we are proud to be a part of this movement.  We will continue to stay together and work together to unseat President Obama and many of his far left friends in Congress.  It is our time now and we will not rest until America is returned to her Constitutional footing once again.

Thank you CNN, Tea Party Express, all the candidates and the tea party members from Florida and across the country.   Respect was the word of the night and it felt good to feel that again.  We will be singing this all the way home today and we hope you will join us in a chorus across America.  Respect.

God bless and safe travels.

Yes and I think in large part that comes of being from different age groups.  Judging by your writing I'm going to say your upper 50's to mid to late 60's so we have experienced, and grew up in, a vastly different lifestyle.  I'm glad we can at least agree that we are heading to the outright destruction of our Constitution and the principles this country was founded on.  If I had a choice on weather I would rather have Christian values lead this country or the values this country currently hold it is a no-brainier for Christian values because those are the values that my wife and I hold for our family.  Better then even that I would still rather then neither of those two examples be the norm and that government kept its nose out of the values of its citizens.

If individual states want to pass value laws, while I might not agree with it, I would be much more comfortable then the federal government doing it.  At least if states did it we could move to a different state if we didn't like the laws passed.  When the federal government does it our only choice is to leave this country if we feel that strongly about it.  As bad a heading as this country might be on right now I still believe in the good that this country has done and has the ability to do in the future and I'm willing to fight for that.  That is why I joined the Tea Party because while I might disagree with some of the views I think that the people that make up the Tea Party also believe in the good of this country and are willing to fight for it.

@Steve T;  LOL, I think we came to the same conclusions on the incremental destruction of our Original 1776 Declaration and the ensueing Constitution; we just arrived via different angles.  Enlightening.

@Christy I have heard that our new major believes very strongly in Agenda 21.  I have not had the time to check it out for myself but I have heard it at least once or twice.  I have had a hard time finding anything linking him to it but I have heard it a few times.  Here is an article and the article itself doesn't talk about it but the first comment under the article.  http://jacksonville.com/opinion/editorials/2011-05-01/story/times-u...

It still doesn't give any were to go and look up the information if I find anything I will post it here.

Billie, check out Agenda 21.  Has it come to your Town?  This is the plan for the World.  It is Very distrubing and you need to track your towns councils and supervisor's.  IT IS coming, STOP them frm. doing to you what they have done to others!

After rereading the comment no one has challenged me on my point of view or taking up an argument in opposition to me in regards to way the founding fathers did not put a national religion into the Constitution.  Also no one has tried to show in the bible were it show Jesus telling us to force people to follow Christianity of its values which is what passing laws would do.

I love all the comments back and forth and honest conversations like this is what will help to draw our country out of the pit it is quickly becoming.  Regardless of our views in the end we are all people and we are all Americans.

I don't like murder in the name of any religion and we also have to remember that Christianity has also had its time of being barbaric and killing in the name of the Prince of Peace.  Yes I know Christians haven't participated in that for a long time but it is still part of our history and when we are talking about how Islam has a history, and much more present history as well, of violence we cannot forget our own.

@Mrs. Cox-Thank you for your comment it is much more eloquent then my attempts at laying out my point of view.

Mr. Davis and Mrs. Tucker have both lived a much longer life then I have so many of the things they say I don't have any experience at and as such I wont' comment on them.  Mr. Davis you are right I consider myself to be fairly well read for my age especially on things most people have never heard  of but I have never heard of what you are talking about so I will have to find out more.  Thank you for giving me a new topic of interest.

The point you make about Sharia law is exactly the point I was trying to make I think you are looking at it from a different point of view.  I'm trying to say that if we as American's insist on liberty for all and that becomes the norm there is less of a chance of Sharia law becoming the law of the land.  If we get used to throwing our Constitution aside for things that make us as Christians, or any other group for that matter, feel better when the time comes and Muslims are the majority we won't have any leg to stand on in insisting that freedom remains the law of the land.

The Almighty Creator, while perfectly capable of making puppets, created humankind in the image of God. God made us free to love God and one another- not as puppets but as free beings.
Most of us agree on the sorry state of the times we live in where evil is rampant and darkness seems to prevail at times. Disagreements lies in the solutions, but we are (yet) free to pursue solutions using our own gifts (whether that is healing, nurturing, teaching, feeding, ministering, etc etc. Historically the solution has NEVER come from ANY state forcing/enacting precepts upon others, no matter how noble the intentions.
Ron Paul gets the sanctity of life part, he was a doctor who made a career out of healing and saving lives. ….Most importantly, at this time in our country's history, for someone seeking a federal office, he understands the important but LIMITED role of the federal government PROTECTING: LIFE, liberty, the pursuit of "happiness" (a discussion for another time), so that we are free from restraints to carry on the more important work.
Dr Paul's voting record consistently says yes to this basic tenet that God (not a government) makes us free. His record indicates that imposing values at the federal level is neither an appropriate or effective means to further goodness.  Judging from ALL past experiments, I have to agree with him.

When the muslims take over this country, what will we have, Sharia Law or our original constitution.  Please enjoy the history of Lebanon and the massacre of the druze christians, including the three generations of the J'amal prime ministers assassinated by Hamas and hezbollah.  The illegal muslim community is expanding by leaps and bounds in Duval County and are protected by the "Palestinian Princess" States attorney, backed up by the Ramallah Club.  Notice how quiet they are?  Nothing heard but the shuffeling of money...

RYAN NICHOLS - Hardened Criminal?? Seriously??

If you're not already aware. This is what's going on in DC while dangerous criminals are allowed back out on the streets.  It's horrifying that this is happening to our citizens and veterans for protesting the hijacking of our election process. This is still happening! They are STILL being tortured and treated like full on terrorists.

You may not be aware of the typical things they're forced to go through...…
