RESPECT - We got a little bit, Baby!

Last night CNN hosted the first ever Tea Party debate with Tea Party Express and more than 150 tea party groups across the country.

It was a historic night and the Tea Party Movement was given the respect it deserves.  The staff at CNN did an excellent job!  The people behind the scenes who help those in front of the screens were professional, supportive and patriotic.  Those in front of the screen were too and willingly gave the tea party the microphone for the day.

Tea Party Express has spent nearly a year working with CNN on this debate.  The Florida Tea Party Group leaders helped fill the seats with Florida Tea Party Members.  Tea Party Express never took center stage and instead gave the applause to individual tea party groups nationwide.  Tea Party Express has proven their heart to the tea party groups and earned our respect for their hard work.

The candidates made sure they shook hands with attendees afterwards in the debate hall and at the After Debate Party.  From the conversations at the party, it appears there was no clear front runner but two were crossed off the list.  Huntsman came across as an elite politician and Ron Paul went over the top with blaming America for the 9/11 tragedy.  There will still be the strong Ron Paul supporters who will argue that point – but the tea party members have had enough with Mr. Paul.

Rick Perry took a beating for some of his policies and admitted he made some mistakes along the way.  Mitt still will not admit he was wrong about Romneycare.  The tea party is strong on wanting that apology but it seems we will not get it.  Santorum had a great moment when he called out Ron Paul on his 9/11 stance.  Cain plays the “Godfather” role well and the audience loves his answers.  Newt's one ling zingers are always fun.  Michelle knew more about Obamacare than anyone else on the stage and is adamant about repealing it in 2012.  The tea party stands with her on that issue.

We will be packing up and heading home today.  My feet hurt and we are exhausted.  But the good outweighs the bad.  We are proud of last night.  We hope America and those who called us names we did not deserve, saw who “we the tea” really are.  We are America and we are proud to be a part of this movement.  We will continue to stay together and work together to unseat President Obama and many of his far left friends in Congress.  It is our time now and we will not rest until America is returned to her Constitutional footing once again.

Thank you CNN, Tea Party Express, all the candidates and the tea party members from Florida and across the country.   Respect was the word of the night and it felt good to feel that again.  We will be singing this all the way home today and we hope you will join us in a chorus across America.  Respect.

God bless and safe travels.

At this juncture, I believe an empty wine bottle would win against hussein obama.  Don't forget the other cards up the sleeves of Rahm Emmanuel and Axelrod; placing Donald Trump in as the Ross Perot of the day.

Herman is my second choice I really like him because he just says what he is going to do to fix the problem.  Like about SS I'm with him who cares what you call it the problem is not what we call it the problem is that it is at best only minimally effective.  I know how important it is to seniors as my mother would not be able to live by herself without it so I see the need for it but that doesn't change the fact that it also needs to be fixed.

Mr. Dungan I know what you are saying but, and I hate to say it, Shawn Hannity makes a good point, they are going to have to get used to it because in the actual election against Obama that is all they are going to get so mine as well toughen your skin and get used to it now.  I don't want to see them beat each other to the point that they are saying things that Obama can use against them later in the election.  Obama doesn't know how to run a country but he damn sure knows how to campaign and he will use everything and anything to win reelection.

@Barbara

You're right we are going down the path of another nominee is that is Democratic lite but only when you look at what national polls say.  If you look at comments on blogs and social media, if you look at after debate polls, hell even the Ames straw poll show that Ron Paul is doing better then the other candidates.  If our country really wants change we are going to need to elect someone that is not just another politician or as you put it GOP candidate of the week.  I hope and pray that enough freedom liberty loving people that believe in our founding documents stand up in the primary.

After the primary Ron Paul will crush Obama as he will get the GOP vote due to him not being Obama and he will pull more independents and moderate democrats then anyone else.  All of the other candidates have gone so hard right to win the primary that Obama is going to use that against them.  He will use their own statements to rally his base and to draw independents.

A computer could pick out the "most electable" candidate. What is a primary if not for We the people to choose our candidate? My choice in the last presidential primary lost. I held my nose and voted for John McCain. Others who shared similar convictions chose to sit it out. Trying to take the long view, I'm not particularly sorry about the outcome.
When even four years ago the Republican party could not raise a majority to support big government lite, for the life of me I can't see how they expect to pull it off with another Permney type candidate next year, trillions and generations more down the hole, and after many more people have awakened. There are a lot of independents, conservatives, libertarians and even democrats out there whose votes are up for grabs and they are not looking at the Media/GOP's candidate of the week.

If the majority really wants hope and change, I can only hope We, The People decide to vote for the candidate who has consistently upheld the constitution and been honest and trustworthy, and uses common sense. Of course I refer to Dr. Ron Paul.

Closing my eyes, I think Michelle Bachman has it for me because of her Priorities on Issues and her titanium backbone.  I like Newt, but he is too eager to compromise.  Since the Dummyrats re-instituted the spoils system, (remember Jonni Reno) I want our muscle flexed and exercised; full and often use the Bully Pulpit.  I would like to see where only the conservative media are allowed to “Presidential Press Meetings”.  I would take exclusion from “party membership” to a new height.  The Dummyrats long ago threw out professional courtesy.  I say, let’s show them such a cold shoulder, many of them will collapse of “shuddering fits”.  Follow the “Political Golden Rule” implemented by “short-time harry reid” and “hooker pelosi”.  I would not verbalize; and always deny, hard feelings toward them.  We need to seek out and eliminate from the payrolls any Kensyen Economic Followers and the Eric Holder appointees and recommendees throughout what ever bureaucracy is left after Michelle Bachman Terminates the Unwanted, Illegal, “Cabinet Departments Left”.  If any of them protest, hand them a form stating at the top; “Tenth Amendment Violators Protest Form” (with a proper OMB#).  State in bold letters; No complaint will be reviewed unless submitted on this official form.

I reiterate!!!  Don't allow the "party-primary JUMPING" dummyrats influence the nominations that come out of the primaries.  Most Tea Partiers state that they support the candidate.  I like that policy and I follow it also.  The Major Difference comes when donations are needed.  I prefer (yes, I am on a fixed income-retired) to give money directly to the candidate that fits my criterias for qualification.  The only "group" I will send money to is our National Tea Party because I like the way they dispence the monies to the candidates.

Yes Lee I agree that the truth hurts feelings sometimes but it is never my intention to do so and I don't like when I do.  I will never apologize for what I say but I will apologize for hurting someone's feelings because that is not my intention.  Thank you for your kind words I just want to attempt to do my part to help turn this country around and even if I can change one persons views and get them to see the truth I can say I accomplished something.

@Durwin

It is funny I like to go on the Huffington Post and post things there to see what people on the other side are thinking and writing and you would not believe how many of them really think Obama is going to win.  2010 and the special elections since then have not woken them up to things and they still almost all insist Obama is going to somehow pull it out.  Obama's biggest chance to win is if we pick the wrong candidate.  Romney and Perry are the two worse candidates in the field and the ones that get the most attention it is very sad.

honest exchanges of ideas and opinions have been hurting feelings since the beginning of time,it might just go with the territory. Steve Tikas I find your remarks always challenging and to the point,two thumbs up.

RYAN NICHOLS - Hardened Criminal?? Seriously??

If you're not already aware. This is what's going on in DC while dangerous criminals are allowed back out on the streets.  It's horrifying that this is happening to our citizens and veterans for protesting the hijacking of our election process. This is still happening! They are STILL being tortured and treated like full on terrorists.

You may not be aware of the typical things they're forced to go through...…
