My daughter will be 30 soon and my son is 28. Both are wonderful American citizens paying their mortgages and car payments and giving us grandchildren. Life is great with them and we love it!
The teenage years were not so great. Many a day I wanted to pull my hair out. They didn’t do anything to get arrested but there were times I thought I would be sent to the slammer! They almost drove me to do something really bad to them because of their attitudes and behaviors. Remember those moments with your teenagers?
· “THE MOUTH” – Statements such as “I hate you,” “you are so mean,” “you don’t know anything” were the normal conversation starters for about 3 years.
· HANGING OUT WITH THE WRONG CROWD: They attempted to hang out with the wrong crowd by saying we should not judge them by their appearance…they were really nice people. You know the ones…the guy with the pierced nose and tongue and the other one with a hole carved in his ear like an Aborigines and tattoos all over his body and hair longer than my daughter’s.
· Drama, drama, drama – They couldn’t be seen driving our car or they would die. They couldn’t go out to dinner and be seen with us or they would die. They couldn’t wear that outfit or they would die.
· BREAKING THE RULES: Obeying the rules was an afterthought. They knew the rules but they didn’t think they were for them.
I thought those days were over and was relishing in the victory of raising them past those days and having well-adjusted adults for kids.
Then…the Progressives took office. Here we go again!
· “THE MOUTH” – They make fun of us, call us names, and tell us we don’t know what we are talking.
· HANGING OUT WITH THE WRONG CROWD: They went to Washington with the idea they would change the world for the better and instead hooked up with the wrong crowed! Some of us do not even recognize the people we sent to Washington because they have changed so much.
· Drama, drama, drama – If we don’t bailout the banks, we will die. If we don’t bailout the car companies, they will die. If we don’t bailout the Unions, they will die. Yada yada yada
· BREAKING THE RULES: Obeying the rules? What rules? Statement from a Congressman, “Rules. We make them up as we go along.”
Yep, the teenagers are loose in DC and in many other state and city government offices. It’s time for us to take the keys from them, send them “home” to their rooms and suspend them from hanging out with their friends. It’s time for the adults to take back Congress!
1. CONNECT: Make a connection with a teenager in your family, neighborhood, place of worship, grocery store, etc. Engage them in a conversation about our country, our founding fathers and our rule of law. Ask questions and listen to them. They like to be listened to.
2. CALL YOUR ADULT CHILDREN: Tell them you love them and you’re glad they are adults now.
3. GIVE A TIP: Find another conservative candidate and give them a tip you would normally give a teenager serving you a meal. Every dollar helps.
In the meantime, don't let them loose in the "house" without a chaperone. They'll destroy the place!!
Comment
If you're not already aware. This is what's going on in DC while dangerous criminals are allowed back out on the streets. It's horrifying that this is happening to our citizens and veterans for protesting the hijacking of our election process. This is still happening! They are STILL being tortured and treated like full on terrorists.
You may not be aware of the typical things they're forced to go through...…
