8 days until Nov. 2: The Colors We Wear

We love to show our colors for our team, our school and even our favorite charity. This morning when I opened the local newspaper, it was tinted a light pink in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Two weeks ago, our NFL team had the color of pink somewhere on their uniform and many of them chose to wear pink shoes. It was interesting to watch these burly guys with pink shoes run down the field and they did so without feeling embarrassed for standing up for this charity. Our team won that day and so did the charity that got a lot of recognition and additional support.

Non-profits do a great job of showing their colors and creating marketing campaigns for their cause. It is important they do this so they can draw new members and new donors to their cause.

That pink newspaper made me wish for a new day in America. My wish was that we could start all over again with reorganizing how we do business in our country. It’s gotten too big, it’s out of control and it’s not easy to do business with!

Right now in America, we are in a “non-profit” status so let’s imagine setting up a Red, White and Blue Commission to reorganize our country into a simple format once again. Here are my thoughts:

o Public Relations: We could have someone in charge of public relations both internally and externally. They would make sure the United States had great relationships with our enemies and our citizens and would keep tyranny away from our shores. (In the past the President and his cabinet would take on this task.)

o Marketing: Someone would constantly be in charge of promoting Liberty in America. They would talk about how great we are, what wonderful service projects we perform, and how we protect liberty across the globe. Day and night you would hear about the great liberty movement and what people were doing to protect it for future generations. (Previously left to the media to do this so we will have to decide how to move forward on this one.)

o Customer Service: This department would be there to answer questions and ensure Liberty was still free and American citizens were too. (Normally left to Congress and hopefully we will soon have a new Customer Service team in DC.)

o Education Department: Someone would have to create programs and events to keep people informed and educated about the greatness of America. (That would mean getting rid of the Department of Education and putting it back into the hands of our teachers and local schools.)

o Finance & Accounting Department: This department would handle all the revenues that come in from the tax payers, would pay the bills, manage credit and would balance the budget. They would make sure we never ran out of money or the country would run out of Freedom. (Again, this was usually handled our leaders and “our gang” ran out of our money!)

o Safety Department: This department would be in charge of keeping us safe and educating us about potential enemies against Liberty. (The military would normally handle this and if we could empower them again and give them the tools they need – we should be able to handle this one well!)

o Product Development: This department would work with entrepreneurs to develop and manufacture new products in our country. We would make it easy to do business in America and employ people in jobs again. (The demonization of CEOs and business owners would have to stop so a discussion with the President and the media would be in order.)

o Maintenance Department: This department would be responsible for keeping our land healthy, our waterways safe and our natural resources protected. (This does not mean grabbing land from homeowners, turning water off for a pinkie-sized fish while farmers cannot water their crops or mandating that we buy a certain light bulb that takes a hazmat suit to change.)

o Community Service Department: This department would be in charge of reaching out to those who have special needs and cannot fend for themselves. They would be responsible for either finding temporary help, developing skills to enhance their ability to stand on their own or acting as a resource to connection them with local service providers such as non-profits or religious organization. (This would mean that people who need special help will get it and those who abuse the situation, will be personally responsible for their own actions.)

That is a pretty simple plan and we know our country has become too big to be this small again. We can only hope that the new leaders who rise up on November 2 will take a serious look at our country and find a way to reduce its size and scope. Limited government is a core principle of this new liberty movement in America and we’ll be watching for some action in this area.

In the meantime, let’s proudly wear our Red, White and Blue on some part of our clothing this week. Wear your favorite candidate’s button too. Decorate your car with red, white and blue and make a hand printed sign for your car window – “VOTE NOVEMBER 2!”

Show your colors …’cause it’s the red, white and blue and it’s the right thing to do!

GREAT insight in this post and the goals are honorable. They are worth promoting to restore confidence in our people that we are a great country. We become what we think of ourselves and a great attitude, with positive thoughts and actions can create what we want to become as a country and as citizens.

Good ideas about showing our colors from now until Nov 2, Billie.

I've always been Patriotic and had Patriotic things to wear. I've had my flag pin and it's a nice one, since 09/11. Had other ones before but this one is really nice.

We need to send these ideas to our congress....all of us....maybe a lightbulb would go off in their heads and they would see the light....I am saving this one one to send all of them after the elections. Over and over again until they get it. Wishful thinking I know but this was an awesome blog.

I wish pins were available to buy at our local meetings. Little flag pins or other patriotic pins to tack onto a lapel or a collar. I think a lot of people would purchase one.

RYAN NICHOLS - Hardened Criminal?? Seriously??

If you're not already aware. This is what's going on in DC while dangerous criminals are allowed back out on the streets.  It's horrifying that this is happening to our citizens and veterans for protesting the hijacking of our election process. This is still happening! They are STILL being tortured and treated like full on terrorists.

You may not be aware of the typical things they're forced to go through...…
