Yes Mr. Ogletree the thread typically goes off once they get past a certain point.  If the Fair Tax is written into his bill as something that happens X years (not more then 4 or 6 I would imagine) then I would reconsider but past in two different sections I don't support.  I am not an economics major but I can understand that jumping to the Fair Tax may put a strain on the economy but broken up and not in the same bill is a bad idea and right now it is portrayed in two different steps.  Yes I have been to his site in the last week so I do know what it says.

 

Mrs. Parrett I support Ron Paul I'm not a Ron Paul supporter supporter.  I can't speak for the actions of someone else and I think you are wrong it making sound like all Ron Paul supporters are one way or another.  Yes sometimes I think some of his supporters go to far but I think that is the fault of the individual person it is not Ron Paul's fault you never hear him advocate that type of action.  The view your expressing is a very collectivist mindset were everyone is the same as the group.  Individuals make up a group but that doesn't make all individuals the same.

Understand that "9-9-9" is easy, catchy and shorthand for TAX REFORM. The Fair Tax and Romney's 59 points are too cumbersome and unwieldy for our sound bite media culture. People start nodding off at point four of Romney's 59er thus the genius of 9-9-9. Sort of like a "Yes We Can" that people can grasp (and did in 2008). The dems get a little catchy chant going for them and the repubs try to bore people to death with windbag technical explanations...and lose.

Steve,

If you have read Cain's total plan, you will find that 999 is just phase 1.  Phase 2 is total implementation of the Fair Tax.  In his long time support of both Rep. Linder and Neal Boortz, he did some of his own research and came to the conclusion that such a change would throw all the revenue collection into disarray for a period that would be a detriment to making sure that the very least of the military pay being affected, not to mention all of the other things like SS where people have actually paid into the system.

 

So with the first two, the existing collection system would generate operating funding while the Fair Tax component, the final 9, was rolled out and set into motion getting the system ready for the full implementation.

@Mrs. Schoenberger-The liberals are going to come after any candidate that we put up for office regardless of color.  If that person is black it just changes the attack pattern they are going to use.  For us to even bring up the issue of race makes us look pathetic for as much as we tell libs that they shouldn't always scream racism about everything.  We need to beat them in the area of ideas not in who can claim the most racism.  We win with ideas.

 

@Mr. Ogletree-I listened to the interview of Herman Cain and I see that he 'might' have been talking about nuclear sub but they have had those for quite a long time too.  Not quite as long as nuclear missiles but for awhile.  Any country that can develop nuclear anything can very easily change it into another form of nuclear power.  That is the fear with Iran even getting peaceful nuclear power.  I was a nuclear submariner when I was in the Navy and the technology from one to another is not that different.  Especially after 40 plus years. 

 

I understand what you are saying about occupiers and maybe that word is a little stronger then needed but if you are a student of history I don't know how you can't help but see how we have become a modern day empire.  We are involved in almost every war, political uprising, civil unrest in the world in some way, shape, or form.  We need to spend that money at home and not abroad.  The idea that having all of these soldiers overseas keeps us safer is not something I buy.  If we used those solders here at home we could protect our borders.  We could teach some of them to run counter-intell and we could screen more people at the airport like the Israel's do.  The only reason we don't do that is we don't have enough people.  Bring the troops home and use them here.  We have to realize that the face of war has changed and we are losing because we don't change with it.  We cannot continue to fight wars as we have in the past.

 

To your point about the 9-9-9 plan.  Yes I have read the Fair Tax book and I'm a HUGE supporter of it.  One of the reasons I like it so much is that it repeals the 16th amendment.  If that isn't done no tax plan is something I can get behind.  To add another form of taxation that can be used against us is just asking for trouble.  Also the Fair Tax repeals all taxes not some of them.  Herman has already changed his position on 9-9-9 and there are already loopholes for 'opportunity zones' and other crap.  We need something that doesn't have loopholes in it before it even starts.

So dearie, please inform us where the details of the "settlement" are listed on the net or for that matter in what court docket to back up your claims.  In short, you cannot.

 

Your assumptions are baseless and earmarks of a very mean and nasty individual who has some sort of sick axe to grind and I would offer you the same as I did to the others on this thread to meet and have a civil discussion but from the invetive slurs and outright lies you propagate I would think you would be just like one of those loons who man the OWS sites.
