Ron, I watched Mr. Cain's interview on PBS, he meant China did not have nuclear capabilities. Watch it for your self. He says bluntly, I do not know what a neocon is.  His tax policies will raise middleclass workers taxes the most of any group. He is not serious.

His campaign manager's last campaign was for a state judge. That campaign resulted in his losing his right to work on any campaigns in that state. (Wisconsin)

Support him all you want, but he won't last. He never intended to last.

I didn't know it was that much but yes I knew it was a large percentage.  Those hidden taxes will not go away because there is still the 9% corporate tax which is were those embedded taxes originate from.  Yes I agree that the embedded tax will go down but it will not go away.  If you look at the 9-9-9 calculator it says that it would drop to 6% which I'm willing to say is correct.  This is one more reason the Fair Tax is far superior to the 9-9-9 plan.  I'm sorry I think if we are going to have the fight about it have it once and see what happens when the dust settles.  Again my objection doesn't come from the amount of money that people pay it comes from the added form of taxation that it brings us while not relieving us of the first one.  I personally like that some people that aren't paying anything will pay something. I think peoples views will be different when they have some skin in the game so to speak.

 

As far as the statement about nuclear power.  The technology to power an aircraft carrier from a nuclear reactor standpoint is the same as powering a sub.  If you have the nuclear technology to power a sub you can do it on an aircraft carrier.  The propulsion aspect is a little different and housing of the reactor are a little bit different but the actual nuclear technology is the same.  It is actually harder to build a nuclear reactor sub because space is a limiting factor on a sub which doesn't really come into play on an aircraft carrier.  After listening to his statement I'm willing to say that he was not talking about nuclear weapons but I still think he was wrong in his statement.

Yes, she was not a part of the Obama clan when she was terminated.  But she is now and that is the rub.  The NDA was good enough for her for 14 years and all of a sudden it is not good now?  Until she has the integrity to stand on her raising the accusation and waive the NDA and face the accused in the court that she opened in the court of public opinion, she is suspect.

What kid of fool brings this up and then hides behind an agreement the other party is willing to drop?

Did you work out both calculators?  Did you consider that all of the hidden taxes you pay everyday will be gone?  Whatever it is you buy won't have those hidden taxes applied anymore.  Now if you want to go into a discussion about profit and profit margins and how they are dramatically affected by this plan then you will need to open another thread on that.  Post me when you have it going.

Nuclear is nuclear, degrees of variation are not germain to his quote.  In the next sentence of the transcripts you will see he described the aircraft carrier that is still under development, so I rest my case.

Yes I had heard that but she was not part of the Obama camp when she made the claim so it cannot be said that she was trying to sabotage Cain.  Well maybe professional back then but not politically.  The fact that she works for Obama may well explain how the story came out though but it doesn't change that back then it had nothing to do with politics.  It doesn't change the fact that to me the allegations were made and it is completely reasonable for this information to come out about anyone that is running for President.

 

Think about if we found something like this from Obama's past everyone here would be saying that it is something that we should know about him.  It is no different for Cain.  We should know about their past and be able to make our own judgement about one if it is valid and two if our answer to question one changes how we feel about him and his ability to run the country.

Ron you are right that he said nuclear capability but when you are talking about nuclear energy developing implies that you don't have it yet.  If you have it and you are trying to improve on it then you would say improving on our nuclear capability.  Also nuclear reactions and cold fusion are different types of nuclear reactions and are not spoken about in the same terms. 

 

As far as your links if you read the first one it was from 2009 and in the article towards the end it says that they already had 10 nuclear subs by the time of the writing.  The second article is talking about developing a new type of nuclear sub.  Like our newest one that I know of is the Seawolf class which is an improvement on the type of nuc sub I was on.  This is a link from an article and the fourth line down says that China has had nuclear subs since 1986.  http://www.nti.org/db/china/wsubdat.htm

 

As far as the 9-9-9 plan my family makes about 38-40K a year depending on how much overtime I can get at work.  I have worked it out and I would pay more.  My take home pay would be more but I would have to pay 9% consumption tax on everything I bought which is where I will be end up coming up on the negative side.  Honestly though I wouldn't mind paying more but my problem is not with the amount that people pay it is in the way that it is collected.  I have expressed my reservations about the 9-9-9.

So what does that mean??? how credible is she She also sued an ex-boyfriend for harassment
