Alvin Brown declared the winner

Here's the link to the breaking news:    http://jacksonville.com/news/florida/2011-05-18/story/alvin-brown-w...

Lick your wounds, cry your tears, and man up.  We have work to do.

And to the Tiny Union and those who said the Chicago Machine wasn't in town...explain why they were writing about it this morning if it doesn't mean anything.   http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/nationworld/la-pn-election-tea-l...

Sleep on that one Tiny Union - the Chicago Tribune even reports the news in Jacksonville.

We will talk more tomorrow.  Until then - get a good night's rest and know you did all you could to keep the machine out of town.  Be proud of yourself.

JL and Vicky-you're right-BUT we won't roll over, 'sit in the back seat', 'shut up' and die. Guess they still don't know TEA party is not a party. it has real values. It will protect our future and NOT with progressive dribble and platitudes.

Right you are, JL. They did warn us and I totally agree with them. Giving NATO or the corrupt United Nations any authority whatsoever over the U.S. military is a violation of the U.S. Constitution and, I believe, an impeachable offense. Just as was Obama's unconstitutionally sending our military to war in Libya under the auspices of the United Nations and in violation of the Constitution's mandate that only Congress can declare war. The War Powers Act is also unconstitutional, for it would have to have successfully gone through the entire Amendment process in order to make that change to the Constitution.

Constitutional scholar, Rob Natelson agrees with us and so does constitutional law attorney, Bruce Fein, who prepared the Articles of Impeachment against Bill Clinton. The President of the United States is limited to only the powers enumerated in the Constitution. This president treats the Constitution as if it is an irritating obstruction to his taking this country down the road to complete oligarchy and tyranny... just a nuisance he can ignore at will.

The U.S. Congress has the enumerated powers to stop the deliberate usurpations and violations of President Barack Hussein Obama and his appointed and confirmed agency/department heads who are also violating the Constitution and states' sovereignty, and refusing to enforce existing federal laws. So, WHY are they not doing everything in their legal power to put a stop to it??  If the good old boy establishment Republicans/RINOs won't do their mandated jobs to protect the Constitution and rights and freedoms of sovereign states and the citizens of those states, we need to proactively target them for removal from office in 2012, while we also replace the 24 progressive Democrats in the U.S. Senate who are standing for re-election or retiring, with true conservatives. Only 10 Republican U.S. Senators are standing for re-election or retiring in 2012 and we can replace any who are not true conservatives.

Le'Nodd, no one expects anyone to agree with them, we are all individuals with individual thoughts, if everyone thought the same we would still be back in the dark ages, there would be NO innovation, NO new ideas, what so ever and the world would be a very very boring place if everyone thought the same, acted the same, looked the same, etc.. That is what makes our country so unique, we are allowed individual uniqueness. Our founding fathers meant for each state to be different and unique but we have Socialist Democratic Progress Liberals who are trying to paint our country under one brush, to make it all the same. Go back and read your post, it appears you were making judgements yourself, spiking the football so to speak and not actually talking about the election and what happened. Everyone needs to read the documents created by our founding fathers and just then perhaps your eyes will be open to the present danger within our country. We have domestic enemies from within.

The fact is 36.81 percent of the voting public tuned out to vote in this local election that is discraceful in itself. That statement alone says that 63.19 percent of the people that have the right to vote chose not to vote for one reason or another. That states that over half of our population does not care how they are affected by the people or the laws that they are governed and puts us into the complacent stage of our history. Fact the DNC put forth the effort to send representatives to Jacksonville to get out the vote the RNC did not. So I assume that the DNC placed a higher value on this voter district than the RNC. As for the candidates both ran their best campain and victory went to the man that addressed the issues that were most concerning to the people who got off of there backsides and went to the polls to do their duty. What is done is done so pray for the best and hope the man that won will govern this city  with honor and integrity.

JR, our founding fathers warned about getting away from one day only to vote. Just as they warned us about having political parties that would manipulate the vote and also allowing another country control and oversight of our military. Everyone who votes should read the Bill of Rights, The Declaration of Independence, The U.S. Constitution and the Federalist Papers. They were very, very wise men.

Alvin Brown is clearly a progressive. There is nothing conservative about him. Just look at the half a million dollars from the DNC from all over the country, not just Jacksonville, not just Florida. WHY?

WHY all of the outside interest?

I know of many people who listened to then candidate Barack Obama and did not research his background, they believed the conservative/moderate stance he took, he was disingenuous to the America people period. I know many who voted for him because he was black. Many of those people now will NEVER vote for a Democrat again. They clearly see now that the Progressives have completely destroyed the old Democratic party and possibly Liberals also. Communism/Socialism/Marxism is alive and well in America and it is set out to destroy our Republic, our U.S. Constitution and to take away our very Liberties and Freedoms. Big government destroys individuals and liberties.

Many of the words that Brown uses goes right back to the Congressional Progressive Caucus, such as "Investments'. It does not take a rocket scientist to figure out what really is going on.

Alan, voting is a right and a privilege. And, it is a proveable fact that voting on election day, at the polls, is the most secure method of voting, because votes are immediately tallied.  This is not true for absentee voting or early voting, leaving them more open to manipulation to change or obliterate your vote. You are perfectly free to choose how you will vote in the existing system. But you can't deny that there are many variables that can serve to disenfranchise you...variables you have no control over. What's to stop any dishonest person who has access to an absentee ballot---from its progress through the mails and the hands of many people through which it must travel---in the blind trust that it will be counted and not trashed.

The purpose of voting is not that it be made easy, it is that you value it enough to do everything in your power, even if it inconveniences you, to make sure that your vote is counted in order to secure the kind of government we want and need.  Just think of all the people in the world who never have the opportunity to vote and choose their leaders and would cherish the opportunity to do so even if they had to walk many miles to get to the polls. Many Americans are spoiled rotten and take our rights and freedoms for granted, sit back and take the lazy road that is serving to fork over those rights and freedoms to the progressive left.

By the way, it looks as if we have another troll in our midst. If you ignore and don't respond to trolls, they will ultimately slink back under their bridges or go hiss in their own pits. It's a total waste of time and energy to engage them.

Such a sad sad day.....

Interesting post J.R.  Especially the piece about a competitive newspaper for the Tiny Union, and the fact that it is doable.  Do you have a game plan?

DiTTo JR! Also another great site is:

http://archives.gov/exhibits/charters/

You can get pocket copies of The Declaration of Independence, The Constitution of the United States for a small donation to become a member of the Heritage Foundation, i think they are giving out five copies of them now for membership. It is good to be on their email list also.

You're so right, Robert.  Alvin Brown and the Times Union proved to us they are afraid of the light.  Brown would never have won if he had been made to answer the questions we asked of him and he still cloaks himself in darkness.  And the Times Union made a Faustian bargain with the progressive left long ago that has relegated them to a political journalistic darkness that has taken any lingering shred of honesty and ethics out of what they purport to present as news. Now, they openly demonstrate their bias and wear their shilling for the socialist Democrats as their raison d'etre and seem to relish the angst they cause patriotic Americans who are committed to our constitutional republic and determined to protect it.

We're not going to be able to overcome the Times-Union's stranglehold on being the predominant "news" source for northeast Florida until we give them some competition by printing news based upon actual facts... news that informs and educates the public on how government is supposed to work for them and how they can be instruments for change we can all believe in. Establishing such a news source is doable, with some hard work and support from those who understand that without it we will not be able to fully get our message out to all whom we must reach and engage in order to save our country and restore it to the fundamental founding principles that created it and made it strong.

Also, thank you so much for your kind words for Billie, JL Gawlik and me. I'm sure they, and other members, would join me in thanking you for your wise and erudite additions to the on-going dialogue on this website. Your quotes are always right on target and deliver messages that need to be delivered to engage us in serious thought and stimulate further inquiry and action. My favorite is this one from Plato. It is timeless and reminds us that an imposed darkness exists that demands our employment of a permanent bright spotlight to reveal what is hidden there and eliminate its power and control.

RYAN NICHOLS - Hardened Criminal?? Seriously??

If you're not already aware. This is what's going on in DC while dangerous criminals are allowed back out on the streets.  It's horrifying that this is happening to our citizens and veterans for protesting the hijacking of our election process. This is still happening! They are STILL being tortured and treated like full on terrorists.

You may not be aware of the typical things they're forced to go through...…
