Alvin Brown declared the winner

Here's the link to the breaking news:    http://jacksonville.com/news/florida/2011-05-18/story/alvin-brown-w...

Lick your wounds, cry your tears, and man up.  We have work to do.

And to the Tiny Union and those who said the Chicago Machine wasn't in town...explain why they were writing about it this morning if it doesn't mean anything.   http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/nationworld/la-pn-election-tea-l...

Sleep on that one Tiny Union - the Chicago Tribune even reports the news in Jacksonville.

We will talk more tomorrow.  Until then - get a good night's rest and know you did all you could to keep the machine out of town.  Be proud of yourself.

Monolithic thinking at it's best? LOL! Brown DID NOT answer any of our questions, he ducked and avoided, he did NOT participate period. That is not a good sign of someone being honorable, honest and sincere. Sir, please do not even try to talk about what you have absolutely no clue about. You do not get it. I have no skepticism about him, i do not like his political disengagement and his flip flopping that he did after the primaries. He came into town as a man who had Washington, D.C.'s ear, the support of Al Gore, Bill Clinton and President Obama, he stated that he would work hand in hand with President Obama to bring jobs to Jacksonville. Then after the primaries he tried to appear as a conservative which he is NOT, he is very disingenuous period. If that is the type of person you support, that is your privilege. I do not support a candidate who is not honest, open and candid, period. I find your thinking monolithic at it's best.

J.R. wrote:  "I also think people should not be able to vote absentee unless they are military serving outside the continental U.S., or have a disabling or handicapping condition they can document that prevents their going to the polls to vote."

J.R., my wife and I always vote absentee.  It's convenient -- we don't have to try to take time off from our busy workdays;  sometimes I am assigned to travel out of the area and may not be able to make it back to a polling place in time. I understand the concerns about voter fraud -- how, then, might we make the absentee process more secure and keep it available for anyone who wishes to use that method to vote?  I would rather be able to vote on the Internet -- I don't see why, with the security processes available in this modern technical world, that method wouldn't someday be a viable option.

To all those who just joined the tea party website to come in here and slam your ideas - go away.  This is a closed site to Conservative Thinkers.  We are not here to debate as we were in the past.  Debates over.  This site is for us and you can set up your own where you can debate with those who want to debate you.  We have work to do and discussing your progressive views and trying to change them is a worthless endeavor.  So please leave the site OR we will remove you if you keep up the bantering.  We have no time for this discussion.

Mr. Harris -- I couldn't disagree with you more.  Your characterization of the Tea Party (and the Republican Party) is straight out of the mainstream media.  What is this "monolithic approach to ideas and issues" that "have (sic) to be dismantled?" How is is that you lump the Tea Party and the RNC together?  How is it that to you, we all look the same?  And your insinuation that our side is something other than "average people" is insulting and untrue -- you need to define your terms, sir.  To me, the Tea Party is not monolithic -- it is composed of "average people" such as myself (yes, a white guy), my wife (Japanese native who is now a proud American citizen), my co-worker Chris and his wife (black and Filipino), and millions more of all walks of life.  We are the "aveage people" that stood up and finally, finally had the guts to say, "Enough!"  And that message has resonated -- witness the results of the 2010 midterm elections. Don't paint us as "sore losers" just because we opposed and will continue to oppose creeping socialism, Marxist philosophies ("quoting my favorite philosopher, Mao Tse-Tung" as one government hack remarkedly stated) and the expanding power of government.  The loyal opposition has an important role to play in a free society.  Or would you rather that we just sit back down, shut up and go along with the ones in charge, whose philosophies are so diametrically opposed to our own, and wait for the eventual destruction and collapse of our free republic?

Should of added, go back in history and see which party actually supported diversity before the 60's, you will be enlightened to find out it was not the DNC. Our politics have gotten perverted by the Progressives, who are actually the communist and socialist party that was rejected by the American people who were appalled back in mid 1900's, they went back underground with their marxist ideas and relabeled themselves PROGRESSIVES. They have completely destroyed the Democratic party.

Hey we lost, calling names on the Times Union seems kind of childish.  Have not had my coffee yet, but I fail to find any logic in your concluding the Chicago Machine was in town because the Chicago Trib reported on Jacksonville's huge democrat Mayoral win.  Obviously it is a significant win that was fought with both parties big-guns. . Am I to believe the existance of the "Chicago Machine" in Jax is proven by Bill Clinton and Al Gore showing up or just the fact that the Jax election results were written about in Chicago?

Le'Nodd, Forget the RNC and DNC parties, this is about a person and the content of their character, unfortunately Alvin Brown's leaves a LOT of unanswered questions,  he has been very disingenuous with the people of Jacksonville. Anyone who votes straight party lines and not for content of character or principles, values, truth and honor is a fool. Interesting to note that you put the RNC and tea party in the same group, one wonders why are you even here if you do not believe in the principles of the FCTP? Your talking points are right off the Progressive caucus page. Who is slinging mud?   Now i get iT! You just joined FCTP! LOL!

RYAN NICHOLS - Hardened Criminal?? Seriously??

If you're not already aware. This is what's going on in DC while dangerous criminals are allowed back out on the streets.  It's horrifying that this is happening to our citizens and veterans for protesting the hijacking of our election process. This is still happening! They are STILL being tortured and treated like full on terrorists.

You may not be aware of the typical things they're forced to go through...…
