America's Dysfunctional Political Parents: The Debt Deal

We are greatly saddened by the Washington establishment on both sides of the aisle (and in the White House) by the so-called Debt deal.  They have once again played politics with the American public and used us as game pieces to continue business as usual.

The behaviors in DC remind us of children with no boundaries who destroy a family to get their own individualist ways.  Children who steal your credit card and use it for their shenanigans are no different than our leaders in DC.   President Obama said, “Let me remind you this debt ceiling pays for the money we’ve already spent.”  We ask you to think about that reasoning.  Let’s spend and then raise the debt limit afterwards.

Reality is this:  They spent because they did not have a budget (because they did not pass one).  Children do not like budgets as it restrains them from spending.   That is exactly why they are kicking and screaming about a Balanced Budget Amendment.

Here are the facts:

  • They used our credit card for a spending spree.  They ruined our credit.  Now WE have to pay the bill.  This is no different than a dysfunctional family who bails out the out of control child, slaps them on the wrist, and tells them not to do it anymore.  The child agrees sheepishly.  The child is good for a short time and then…off the chain they go when you turn your back.  (In the USA, they spend behind the scenes through regulatory departments such as EPA, DOT, Department of Education, etc. through grant money and other non-transparent ways).  Is it spending if you don’t see it until it’s time to raise the debt ceiling because then you see it?  Read that sentence again!
  • If you do not fix the real, deep down issues of this dysfunctional family aka Nation, you will continue to repeat bad behavior again and again and the family aka Nation will no longer enjoy Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness.
  • The irony of this … our children will inherit these simple-minded and weak-willed decisions by their parental politicians.  Then the creditor will come knocking on the door of the most innocent among us and the bill will be due.
  • The spoiled children are running the country while we ignore the biggest threat facing this nation.  This is no way to run a family or a country.

We ask all Americans to do their homework on this compromise and understand the full impact it will have on their lives.  It is a big deal and should not be taken lightly.

The following articles can help you begin your research today.  There will be a lot more published and average American citizens will do their research and find other interesting tidbits that we will post in the comment section of this blog.   Come back often throughout the next two days and see what else has been uncovered.  Post what you find too.  Sharing information will empower the people to hold their representatives accountable.

We have faith in Grassroots America because they don’t have the keys to the Nation’s credit card, they are only able to see the bill, ask questions and pay for it!  They will do a great job of finding out the truth and a great job in the polls in November 2012.  We can see November from our house!

There has been a LOT going on in Congress since the beginning of Jan 2011 over a half dozen budgets passed but shelved by Harry Reid. Just go over and look at all the legislation that the media does not and will NOT report.

The paradigm in Washington, DC & Congress has greatly changed because of the TeaParty. It has gone from being called just 'Astro Turf' it won't last long by Nancy Pelosi to just yesterday the VPOTUS Biden called the TeaParty 'Terrorists' that is quiet a move up from 2009. Is it because the TeaParty strikes the fear of terror in the progressive democrats? Learn to read between the lines.

The TeaParty has made great strides this year and it is ALL because of WE THE PEOPLE. Keep spreading the TRUTH & FACTS.

Anyone who doubts what Billie is saying needs to Google "Baseline Budgeting". The politicians have lied to us again, and this method of budgeting proves it.

It's long but worth it:ubject:

Sounds like JFK would be running on the Republican Ticket in 2008.

Interesting how the media ignores the past?
On Taxes:
Kennedy, in a 1962 speech before the Economic Club of New York
"It is a paradoxical truth that tax rates are too high today and tax revenues are too low and the soundest way to raise the revenues in the long run is to cut the rates now. The experience of a number of European countries and Japan have borne this out. This country's own experience with tax reduction in 1954 has borne this out. And the reason is that only full employment can balance the budget, and tax reduction can pave the way to that employment. The purpose of cutting taxes now is not to incur a budget deficit, but to achieve the more prosperous, expanding economy, which can bring a budget surplus."
January 1963, Kennedy addressed Congress:
Lower rates of taxation will stimulate economic activity and so raise the levels of personal and corporate income as to yield within a few years an increased -- not a reduced -- flow of revenues to the federal government." Several days later, JFK sent another message to Congress: "Our tax system still siphons out of the private economy too large a share of personal and business purchasing power and reduces the incentive for risk, investment and effort -- thereby aborting our recoveries and stifling our national growth rate."
In a televised national address just two months before his assassination, Kennedy broke it down
"A tax cut means higher family income and higher business profits and a balanced federal budget. Every taxpayer and his family will have more money left over after taxes for a new car, a new home, new conveniences, education and investment. Every businessman can keep a higher percentage of his profits in his cash register or put it to work expanding or improving his business, and as the national income grows, the federal government will ultimately end up with more revenues."
On Quotas
In a 1963 interview, Kennedy expected blacks to resist a call for preferential treatment
"The Negro community did not want job quotas to compensate for past discrimination. What I think they would like is to see their children well educated, so that they could hold jobs … and have themselves accepted as equal members of the community. … I don't think we can undo the past. In fact, the past is going to be with us for a good many years in uneducated men and women who lost their chance for a decent education. We have to do the best we can now. That is what we are trying to do."
"I think it is a mistake to begin to assign quotas on the basis of religion or race -- color -- nationality. … On the other hand, I do think that we ought to make an effort to give a fair chance to everyone who is qualified -- not through a quota -- but just look over our employment rolls, look over our areas where we are hiring people and at least make sure we are giving everyone a fair chance. But not hard and fast quotas. … We are too mixed, this society of ours, to begin to divide ourselves on the basis of race or color."
On War
"Let every nation know, whether it wishes us well or ill, that we shall pay any price, bear any burden,

Sadly for Conservatives, the Liberal Democrats have now made the Tea Party responsible for a Bill that will not stop the deficit spending and "politics as usual" by both sides.  In the 2012 Election, the Tea Party will now get the blame for the continuing failed economy.  We not only must get rid of Obama and Nelson, but also McConnell, McCain and Boehner (who have been in D.C. too long).  Stay strong, Patriots.

Everyone please keep in mind this is a first big step of many. The dialogue on the debt is NOT going to go away, it will be the main subject in the 2012 elections and it is very clear we must vote in MORE constitutional fiscal conservatives who listen to their constituents and actually have a open and honest dialogue. This is WHAT WE NEED in DC and Congress.

I think with only 1/3 of the control and say so in Congress and DC a LOT of progress has been made. IF there was no TeaParty this crisis would NOT have been created, we would be silently further down the path of economic destruction. The TeaParty started this.

The good thing is that this atmosphere has outed many Progressives and they are very easy to spot now and they all say the same things. The true conservatives are very refreshing to spot now and are now stepping up with courage because they can see, hear and read the massive support of the American people behind them now. We need to keep it up. I have been very involved in tweeting and on blogs and was very taken about by the vitriol being spouted by what seemed to be members of TeaParty but was actually progressives. Congresswoman Sheila Jackson-Lee calls this bill a sugar coated satan sandwich and then she says we need to go over it with a fine tooth comb!!! LoL! She also states the President should use his constitutional authority... She is such a contradiction and a nut, i love it when the Progressives get riled up or do not get their way.

We need to keep it all going and push for honest, honorable, truthful, constitutional fiscal conservatives for candidates 2012 and beyond. This is just the start of a long battle, just stick to facts and the truth as we move forward. Great posts all... great quotes Jim.

Grassroots America is what truly represents America. Keep the dialogue going...

This is what the Tea Party stands for and represents:  We can be proud we have begun to move the needle. Now we must reignite ourselves to go forward even stronger than before.  below:

This is still happening! They are STILL being tortured and treated like full on terrorists.
