My response to the Senator:

Senator Nelson,

Thank you for the opportunity to communicate with you over this most important issue.  My sincere hope is that you, personally, will actually receive my thoughts exactly as I am about to provide them per your request.

Sir, there is nothing fair about the compromise you are suggesting.  From my vantage point, I have seen NO compromise from this President.  Let me make myself clear - crystal clear:  I DO NOT SUPPORT AN INCREASE IN THE DEBT WITHOUT SIGNIFICANT, VERIFIABLE AND IMMEDIATE CUTS IN SPENDING.  This is NOT a compromise, it is merely kicking the can down the road...again.  $1.2 Trillion to be saved from withdrawing from our wars?  REALLY?  Estimates like that are not real, not verifiable and just will not happen.  What I expect is that you and every other Senator, if not already sold out to the President's Progressive agenda, vote on the Cut, Cap and Balance Bill. Tabling it without debate and discussion was a huge mistake.  A Bill from the House of Representatives deserves honest consideration followed by a vote for the record.  Under President Clinton, my party and yours wanted just such a law.  Here it was given to you in your lap and in summary judgment, dismissed.

Senator, in all due respect, is that how the people are to be represented these days?  Again, with all due respect, I hold an advanced degree in political science with intense studies in our government. I've taught it at several universities. I do not recall whether you hold a degree in law or something else, but from my studies and experience I can say with certainty that MY party denied the people their right of representation. Senator Reid has already announced he will do it again when the plan to avert this crisis comes from the House.  Sir, you asked me to "weigh in," and I say shame on the United States Senate, shame on the Democratic Party, and shame on me for devoting 39 years of my voting life as a Constitutional Democrat, as well as giving significant military service to see the workings of our Republic come to this!  In the future, I hope having heard this that you will not allow a Bill to be tabled without a vote.

I do not know if you follow the Progressive ideology, and I pray not, but our President has made clear that he does.  If you do not, I urge you again to vote for America and not for the europeanization of it. This "compromise," is a sham.  The politics being played is a sham.  The rhetoric is divisive, deceptive, disruptive and disturbing.  Difference in ideologies does not equate to a lack of patriotism, disdain for the nation's citizens or seeking to destroy a nation unless that ideology has proven to be such...Progressivism has: not liberalism, libertarianism or conservatism.  I expect to hear one of my fellow Democrats stand up at any moment and accuse the GOP of eating babies.  I DO NOT APPROVE OF THIS SCANDALOUS BEHAVIOR. I DO NOT SUPPORT THE SENATE'S PLAN. I DO NOT AND WILL NOT RESPECT OR SUPPORT THE PROGRESSIVE AGENDA.

Now, sir, I have complied with your request.  Will you do the same for me?  PROVIDE ME A RESPONSE FROM YOUR OWN LIPS OR BY YOUR OWN HAND.  Should you value my future vote, it would be well appreciated.

FIRST EVER GAO AUDIT OF THE FEDERAL RESERVE.

 

The first ever GAO(Government Accountability Office) audit of the Federal Reserve was carried out in the past few months due to the Ron Paul, Alan Grayson Amendment to the Dodd-Frank bill, which passed last year. Jim DeMint, a Republican Senator, and Bernie Sanders, an independent Senator, led the charge for a Federal Reserve audit in the Senate, but watered down the original language of the house bill(HR1207), so that a complete audit would not be carried out. Ben Bernanke(pictured to the left), Alan Greenspan, and various other bankers vehemently opposed the audit and lied to Congress about the effects an audit would have on markets. Nevertheless, the results of the first audit in the Federal Reserve’s nearly 100 year history were posted on Senator Sander’s webpage earlier this morning.

What was revealed in the audit was startling: $16,000,000,000,000.00 had been secretly given out to US banks and corporations and foreign banks everywhere from France to Scotland. From the period between December 2007 and June 2010, the Federal Reserve had secretly bailed out many of the world’s banks, corporations, and governments. The Federal Reserve likes to refer to these secret bailouts as an all-inclusive loan program, but virtually none of the money has been returned and it was loaned out at 0% interest. Why the Federal Reserve had never been public about this or even informed the United States Congress about the $16 trillion dollar bailout is obvious — the American public would have been outraged to find out that the Federal Reserve bailed out foreign banks while Americans were struggling to find jobs.

The most precious thing Bill Nelson can show me is his resignation.  We have LeMieux, experienced that can take his place for the remainder of his term.  LeMieux is not my pick at the moment, but if given the chance, I would believe he would talk and vote a lot differently than Charlotte Crist.  At the present, I don't know which of the candidates against Nelson would measure up to a First Coast Tea Partier's minimum standard.  Fortunately we have time to choose.  Unfortunately, Nelson has more time to destroy our economy, what's left (pardon the pun) of it.

Senator Nelson,

 

  I am writing to you today as a concerned citizen and a small business owner here is Florida. I have 20 employees in my small manufacturing business (Yes, there is still one here in Florida). As I try to relate my decisions as owner of this company to the decisions you must make as a representative of our state in the senate, I painfully aware of the decisions we must make and how it affects the ones we represent. There are similarities, though my decisions are on a micro-economic scale and yours are on a macro scale. Here’s what I had to do in my stewardship of my company contrasted to what you and your congress did when faced with the same circumstances. Let me preface by saying that my current circumstances are not the result of any bad decisions or direction on my part. All my customers are still doing business with me and love our products, but volume has dropped 35% due to the economy.

 

I had to lay off 4 employees.

Our government added employees.

I froze all salaries.

Our  government continued to give salary increases and bonuses.

I delayed capital improvements to preserve cash flow.

Our government added the huge stimulus program.

I reviewed our insurance programs and made cost cutting adjustments.

Our government passed a national healthcare program.

 

So what’s the outcome?

My business is back in the black, although my employees have not received much deserved salary increases, and I personally make a fraction of my income from 3 years ago. But we are surviving in a terrible market.

Our government is broke and cannot pay its bills without another loan from me.

 

YOU HAVE A SPENDING ADDICTION AND NOTHING FROM THE REAL WORLD THAT I HAVE TO LIVE IN AN MAKE WORK WILL CAUSE YOU TO STOP.

BY BANK HAS A CREDIT LIMIT FOR MY BUSINESS. YOU HAVE A DEBT CEILING. I HAVE TO LIVE WITHIN MY MEANS AN I SEE NO REASON WHY OUR GOVERNMENT CAN’T DO THE SAME.

STOP THE SPENDING AND LIVE WITHIN YOUR MEANS OR WE WILL ALL GO DOWN.

here's what I said...

 

I find it amusing that you are soliciting our thoughts when time and time again, you vote strictly along party lines without regard to your consituents' views and wishes.

 

But, you asked me to weigh in, so here goes:

 

Congress MUST NOT increase the debt celing by even one red cent.

Congress MUST NOT continue to borrow against our children's and grandchildren's futures.

Congress MUST NOT continue to grow government in any way, shape or form.

Congress MUST NOT raise taxes anymore, EVER.

Congress MUST NOT penalize large job-creating corporations so that they are driven overseas for cheaper labor.

Congress MUST NOT get in the way of small businesses any more.

CONGRESS MUST STOP SPENDING NOW!

 

Oh, and you should resign.

 

I'm sure you won't, but I'll console myself with helping vote you out in November 2012.
