This sorta reminds me of the whole Y2K "crisis" when the whole world was supposed to fall

into chaos and darkness. We were all going to plummet into economic dissaray. And as New

Year's came and touched each time zone.........NOTHING. We are being played and we'd better

wise up.  America Bless G*d, G*d Bless America...........in that order, yes?

Sadly, Durwin, if you asked many of the black people why, you would get the same answer the news station here got when they went into the districts that voted at 90% for Brown.  He is black......but Obama is not really, but he is at least part black and therefore, like them (they think).  And he is trying to win over the Hispanic vote now with his garbage about going ahead and just writing an executive order for the dream act...........he thinks he will ge their votes and doesn't care a bit that he is feeding them the same story he did before he was elected and did nothing for them at all.  He is the most disgusting human being I know and the biggest liar and has not a single principle. 

 

And yes, Larry, the military sometimes does things that are not easily understood.  Donald loved what he did obviously since he has been doing some variation of the same thing now for over 50 years.  Fortunately, Norman Schwarzkopf was a hero and showed up in Washington with his rugged looks missing part of an ear, and no one cared if he was pretty (and he wasn't).  I was taken back when Donald told me what was said to him, and I would hate to think they would take a good looking idiot and pass up someone who was less attractive but knew what he/she was doing but guess at the time, that was what they were doing.  But it was quite an honor to have the admiral send his personal plane up to Italy to pick Donald up and fly him down to London for the interview (even though Donald pretty much knew he was too young and he was............we had talked about it and decided if he got it, and we had to move to London, we were going to have lots of fun).  You know, now that I think about it, the admiral wasn't what I would have called  handsome, so perhaps he knew and had been banished to Europe because of it :).  Actually, I want to thank you for saying some of what you did, it made me remember all this stuff that had been pretty well part of history for us!  Donald has given me lots of reasons over the years to be very proud of him.  Sounds like you were in the thick of Nato and yes, some of what goes on isn't great, but somehow most of the time we come away with the good stuff and let go of most of the rest.  The closest either of us came to Nato was me taking all the little girls in our neighborhood apt complex over to the pool on the Nato base near us during the summer months (to give their Mom's a break).  You are right though, when you are ready to be done, you are ready period!

I have also heard it as enhanced revenues, spending now is investing, etc. They change the words so that people do not realize the main goal is. The AMERICAN PEOPLE  ARE NOT STUPID, like they think. I have heard that the movie UNDEFEATED on Sara Palin addresses what the main stream media is doing, the corruption and how it has changed into not reporting facts but pushing the propaganda that the Progressives push. In 2007 or early 2008 it hit me that Hollywood and journalists, reporters and those in the biz all are union members...

I listened to a screen writer who use to think he was a liberal and discovered he is not, he is a conservative, a capitalist and believes most in Hollywood are also, David Mamet, great interview and he has written a book about his journey in discovering that he is not a liberal "The Secret Knowledge: On the Dismantling of American Culture,"  he says it is really not so secret.

I personally am shocked that so many people voted for Obama, a unknown from Chicago. Just reading his biography back in 2007 raised a LOT of red flags, not actually raised on the mainland of USA or even entirely in our country. Raised with Muslim, Islam teachings in earlier childhood to 10 years old then lives with Grandparents who were both USA Communist card carriers, going to a private elite school from 10 to graduation. His Grandfather constantly exposed him to Chicago based Marxist political friend who lived in Hawaii to help his grandson embrace his black heritage. HOW can a man like this who gets scholarship after grant, student loans not working thru college but on hand outs even come close to understanding average Americans? He was NOT raised up with the patriotic background of many Americans or even the one that Immigrants that come to our country and embrace and work so hard to become Americans. I can see where all of his resentment comes from, this is not a healthy background for a proud American to run our country period. That is my opinion. With moderate McCain running against him the conservatives almost handed him the Presidency. Just my thoughts. I would LOVE to see John Bolton, former UN US ambassador as VP.

Lately the new word for "raising taxes" is "raising revenues"; a play on private entreprenural lingo for profits and sales; thus the moochers are able to mouth this vernacular, in their minds, with the parallel meanings of private enterprises.  The major media has been recently really doing this "like speech" as though it is in the same venue as cutting spending.  Watch tomorrow morning if Bob Shiffertly and the slick little greek clintonite don't use it heavily as though it is parallel to cutting spending.

Why are we surprised with regard to the president's Marxist leanings? He speaks of being a "Progressive" all the time. The Progressives are the "vast left wing conspiracy" of the Democratic Party and this movement has shown disdain for our Constitutional system since their appearance as a movement in the late 1800's. Wilson was one...i.e., his "dream" of the League of Nations. FDR was one. We, unfortunately are feeling the effects of the worst of them all. The europeanization of America is the next logical step toward One World Government; so, how important is the Tea Party's job?  Oh, yes, the UN claims they are sovereign on their little piece of soil. An issue easily addressed if we would muster the fortitude to do what's needed.

Patricia, I agree defense shouldn't be early in the debate, but in it somewhere.  At the time of my retirement I was slated to takeover a NATO command job to which I said no a number of times and since my initial retirement request was turned down, I reminded my wonderful detailer that a second denial of a retirement request took an act of Congress. So maybe I'm a bit harder on our overseas presence than some would expect, but I have also been involved with writing a number of the theater support plans for "hostilities," so I had to learn about capabilities we have that my warfare specialty normally would not have known.  Like a lot with our government, you put 2 and 2 together and too often find the reasons we say we are doing something are not the real ones at all. As your husband no doubt knew, our military follows orders and does it well, even when those orders come from politicians with ulterior motives. Anyway, I agree with you about SS, at least that promises can't be broken to current recipients or anyone close to it who have paid significantly into the system (like me, of course).  It would be nice if the benefit was not so freely given to people who have not paid into it...how does an immigrant enter our country at 65 and get it? Anyway, we have much in common and in the end analysis are advocating similar approaches. And, I guess none of it matters, because Senator Reid said people like us, members of the Tea Party, aren't real Americans. :)

that's why all the folks over at Bear Witness have been frantic to get those still asleep wakened.  They know as each and every one of them has either lived under communist rule or lived in a country where someone like a Castro did what Castro did.  They saw the signs and knew what was coming.  Obama isn't a patriotic man, and he sure doesn't care about this country.  There are no excuses for some of the really bad decisions he has made and he seems not to care about the impact and even joked about the shovel ready...........tell me that is someone who really cares how badly he messes this country up.  Many of the fine men and women that came to this country legally did so in many cases at great risk to themselves and their families and they are true and patriotic Americans right to the core.  They do not want what happened and was going on in their own country to be repeated here, because this is the last place people can escape to, but maybe that is the point.  It will leave people without hope of ever leaving the horror they live in and will turn this country into the same horror story!  Of course Obama and his family won't suffer since they are part of the elitist.  A big tell for me was when he said he wasn't going to be under Obamacare because it wasn't good enough for HIS family!  That should have said it all to anyone who was listening about what Obamacare will be like!  And everything else he does is meant to treat us like subhumans to be used.

This past July, we had the pleasure of sharing a summer barbecue with a refugee from Cuba. Our dinner conversation was starkly different than most.
This refugee came to the United States as a young boy in the early 1960s. His family was more fortunate than most as they were able to bring a suitcase and $100 when they fled Castro's newly formed revolutionary paradise.  But then he said it. The sentence came naturally. I assume it was unplanned. But it carried the weight of a freight train.. "You know when Castro took power, none of us knew he was a Communist."  We sat stunned. He continued, "Yes, we all thought he was a patriot, a nationalist. Before the revolution he didn't sound like a radical."  The comparison at this point was easy, and I interjected, "You mean just like Barack Obama?" He responded, "Yes, just like Barack Obama."

Trump could also see money to be made as he is first and foremost, in that type deal anyway, a business man!  I am sure we got soaked totally for it.  Seems to be what the gov. does and then, they wonder why they are in such bad shape :)

Trump (blessed be his hair) made quite a stink about the UN's cost and timeline for the its remodel saying the cost was ridiculously bloated and the project could be completed in months not years. Since he does this for a living, he even offered to take over management of the project.
