FCTP Statement Regarding Duval County Local Elections

We wish Alvin Brown well and expect him to uphold his promise not to raise taxes.  We will wait and see how he responds to all citizens’ concerns and requests and how he will communicate with all the people of Duval County.

We also congratulate the winners of the City Council who won and meet the Conservative stance of the tea party movement.  We expect them to uphold their promises too and look forward to them getting to work.

We are very sad on two counts today:

  • The victory belongs to the Apathy Party which persuaded 63% of the registered voters in Duval County to cast their ballot for their candidate, Mr. I. Don't Care; and there were two losers, Freedom and the City of Jacksonville.   The true culprit in the further destruction of liberty is the more than 300,000 registered voters who chose not to be engaged in the election process.

  • Living in a city with such an extremely liberal newspaper has become a major issue for Duval County residents.  We wish the Times Union would find their way back to the days of a real newspaper filled with investigative articles where their liberal bias did not play a part in the news.

The First Coast Tea Party is here to stay.  Our plan moving forward will focus on the 2012 Election.  We have much work to do to return our country, state and city to constitutional standards.  People are out of work; jobs are few; we have run out of money; spending is out of control; and people are struggling to make ends meet.  This is all due to big government intervention and overstepping our constitutional boundaries.  How to fix it?  Ensure a 2012 win for conservative candidates.  That’s our focus and we encourage our members to get ready to work hard to make that happen.  We will be discussing our plans to do that with our membership.

The First Coast Tea Party’s mission is to promote the principles of our founding fathers – individual liberty and responsibility, limited government and moral leadership.  We are a nonprofit, grassroots group comprised of Americans of all walks of life who contribute their individual skills to the effort. Our primary tools are personal conversations, letters, rallies, visits to the offices of elected officials, telephone calls, discussion groups, educational and informational sessions, media coverage, news releases and independent Tea Party groups.  For more information, contact our office at (904) 683-3945.

Glenn, actually the Florida TU owner has almost gone bankrupt several times, they have been borrowing to keep the paper afloat. I actually thought they were going to bite the dust last year but they came out of court still intact.

Rick Scott has proven over and over that he is a man of his word. The others say what will get them the vote, they are clearly career pandering politicians. Septic tank inspections? Goodness more regulations, fees and taxes. If someones septic tank is a problem just call the health department, aren't there already laws on the books about this? Probably at least a hundred or so.

I fully understand the apathy of the people and the dismal performance of the Florida Legislature is just one more nail in the coffin of freedom. Going Galt was based on historical fact and the fact is we have no more honnest politicans in the Republican Party than the Democratic. Leadership is almost non existent and almost none of them do what they say they will.

Senator Haeirdopolous stood on the Dartmouth and said he "got it" and no sooner did the applause die down than he presided over yet another attempt to bring us Septic Tank inspections. John Thrasher and Steven Wise voted several times to pass this boondoggle through committee and yet they claim to also "get it."

I have been asked several times what the solution is and I have to admit I really don't know, but if we fail to bring even the slightest interest to 63% of the voters we cannot do anything but fail. The problem is a corrupt media and perhaps an even bigger one is politicans that do not do the right thing.

I do know one thing we have to quit allowing people like John Thrasher to use us and we have to somehow counter the corrupt press. Somebody is pouring millions into the Times and other Florida Publishing papers to keep them afloat, otherwise they would have gone out years ago.

I have often said the Tea Party is the best (not last) hope we have for our country and now finding the solutions is something we all need to think about. The alternative is going Galt and waiting for the end of our country as we know it.

P.S. I still like Rick Scott and he is one of the few that is doing what they said.

Hogan, was the wrong choice.  He has a lot of baggage, I held my nose and voted for him. I'm one who doesn't care one wit about "grand children" doing adds, they can't vote.

Let's get a new senator for Florida, that reflects Tea Party Principles

I have a friend of a friend publishing a small Nassau County newspaper on a shoestring. I'm trying to get in touch with him.

Is anyone in FCTP in publishing or printing business?

We can start a FCTP weekly, selling ad space in it while exposing city government corruption, presenting conservative solutions and true consertvative writers and leaders. We can  grow into a daily publication to position to either buy out the Union Times or put them out of our misery, but sitting and complaining and blogging the subject to death will do nothing.

I would gladly donate to that billboard fund...

Well once again, this is what happens when people don't vote. Now lets see if Brown is going to be the Mayor of Jacksonville, or the Mayor of NW Jacksonville. SHAME ON YOU NON VOTERS!

This election just shows that 2012 is not going to be a easy fight.  The main complaint I heard was that Scott has taken too much from our school system and he needed someone to balance against him.  Come on people we are going to feel pain the school system isn't good anyway.  It needs to change so the kids will have a good education not an F education.  We need to get the people that have been in there too long out we need a transfusion.  Sometimes pain is good!!  Mr. Brown may turn out to be a blessing lets just watch.  Mr. Hogan did not show us anything, though I voted for him.  I personally believe the Tea Party needs to stay away from backing anyone and just keep teaching and informing the People of the canidates.

Why doesn't someone start up a conservative newspaper to compete with the liberal TU?  This would be a big hit in this city and the way the TU is going it can not last much longer.

RYAN NICHOLS - Hardened Criminal?? Seriously??

If you're not already aware. This is what's going on in DC while dangerous criminals are allowed back out on the streets.  It's horrifying that this is happening to our citizens and veterans for protesting the hijacking of our election process. This is still happening! They are STILL being tortured and treated like full on terrorists.

You may not be aware of the typical things they're forced to go through...…
