BREAKING NEWS: Here's the Deal per Boehner Conference Call tonight

As the President announced this evening, there is an agreement among the Congressional leaders that will provide for an increase in the debt limit while cutting spending and tackling the long-term fiscal health of the country.

85, I pulled the article up and posted it as a blog.
Richard, supposedly the rating will not be dropped. They have decided the 2 plus trillion will do. The problem is as 85MCstang points to the CBO, Obama will only cut a total of 2% of the cuts before leaving office in January of 2013............that is an outrage and Obama is still talking cuts in medicare for the elderly (he is hell on old people isn't he? and once again, tax increases which is a subject he is stuck on and won't stop trying to get. Guess he figures if he spends enough money, we will be forced to do that!

I suspect that if this passes, the US bond rating will drop. This is now proof positive that our political leaders lack the will to fix our growing debt. The S&P 500 down 1.06% as I write.

Terry, you are right, there is no where near enough cutting. The amount they will let hm spend is an outrage and should be far less than that given the paultry cuts. Heaven only knows where he will waste the money!

I absolutely hate it, but I suppose it might be the best that they could get right now. However, here's my big question, and NO ONE seems to address it: Why are the spending cuts always on our side? How about cutting the huge bureaucracies in Washington instead? You know, the EPA, IRS, DHS, ATF, Dept of Emergy, etc.... - all those agencies that are suffocating business with tons of regulations and depriving us of our freedom, all while bypassing Congress. Obama has added (tens?) of thousands of jobs in D.C.; why is it that no Republican ever suggests cutting Beltway jobs?

If you're not already aware. This is what's going on in DC while dangerous criminals are allowed back out on the streets. It's horrifying that this is happening to our citizens and veterans for protesting the hijacking of our election process. This is still happening! They are STILL being tortured and treated like full on terrorists.
