Agreed. It is not going to be comfortable for quite a few people. Is it best to do it now, while we may be able to handle it or better later in the form of a total cataclysm?

85MCstang.  It has started.  Friday my friend's son in law was laid off along with everyone who worked with him, because the government is not funding repairs on the ships out at Mayport any longer (so they don't need the welders and other personel and laid them all off).   Wonder how long it will be before the dredging for the so called carrier coming to Mayport will stop?  And maybe Crenshaw and Nelson can give yet another speech telling us "the carrier is coming".

The entire budget needs to be cut including defense and entitlements. We can't afford it anymore and really never could. I was in the military, so I am pro military but we are involved in way too many countries right now. 'Entitlements' need to be cut at the same rate as the military.

We used a British pattern in our foreign relations in that we would purchase the loyalty of a minority tribal chieftan, then supply all of his tribesmen with the latest weapons and they would in turn, declare marshal law with curfews, cut power to known "anti-government" hot spots, remove all communications from the subjected populace, ration food from government warehouses, etcetera.  This is what Hussein, Holder and Pelosi are doing now, incrementally, through their executively controlled agencies.  IRS, ATF, DHS, FEMA, ETC., all pack weapons.  We have two years to go to VOTE THE BASTARDS OUT!  Will we make it?  Or will Hussein and his pseudo-para-military "government police" declare a national emergency, suspend Habeas Corpus and the "constitution".  Don't think it can happen?  The latest entertainment venue was the legislature.  The "Great Debate" of the raising of the debt limit.  While this side show is entertaining the populace, the "executives" are moving past the legislative branch as the octopus slithers along the bottom of its realm.  In the Great Potomac Sewer.

Nice power point Billie, but as one of our representatives said, "the devil is in the details" and he is upset they are trying to push this through fast and not give people the time to read and scrutinize this bill.  I think this process needs to slow down even if they have to give Obummer a short term increase.  Thanks Billie for posting!

This is what our tax dollars are paying for, and they want to cut the defence budget so they can continue their onslaught on our constitution and way of life in this country.  As one commenter said on one of the posts, this is clearly a treasonous act since it is plotting to overthrow our government.

My Choice:Get to know Michelle,Dear jim,

We have known about the national debt issue for months. Yet, President Obama and the Democrats did nothing to address it. Now that we are only days away from their ever-moving, self-declared deadline, they are still busy pointing fingers and proposing tax increases rather than formulating real plans to lower our debt and reduce government spending.

On Thursday I wrote to you stating that I would not vote to raise the debt ceiling. I have not and will not waver on this promise. In fact, this weekend I voted against Senator Reid's debt-ceiling increase proposal. We need to stand strong and not allow President Obama and his Democrat allies in Congress to raise our taxes and increase the size of the government. Instead, we need to make the tough choices now. We need to establish priorities and protect vital programs, such as military pay, while reducing or eliminating non-essential expenditures.

Please send a loud message to Washington that you agree we cannot raise the debt ceiling by supporting my campaign for President today. As President I will ensure your conservative voice is heard in Washington!

I warn you, everybody, do not even talk about a Constitutional Convention!  This is the most dangerous thing you can possibly do in this environment!

A Constitutional convention is open for ANYBODY to bring up issues and Amendments to the Constitution and there is no stopping them from doing it.  They will get all their Union friends and Socialist representatives and they will outvote the conservatives.  Do not do this now.
