This past weekend, many of us celebrated St. Patrick’s Day.  We enjoyed being Irish for one day of the year.  Like many holidays, St. Patrick’s Day has lost its original meaning.   The original intent of St. Patrick’s Day was to celebrate the arrival of Christianity in Ireland.  Americans began celebrating St. Patrick’s Day prior to the American Revolution so it is very much a part of our history and culture.  The shamrock, a three-leaved plant, identifies St. Patrick’s Day celebrations but did you know St. Patrick himself used the shamrock to teach about the Christian doctrine of the Trinity to the Irish people?  

St. Patrick’s Day is a prime example of something morally good that went secularly wrong.  The Easter bunny has taken the place of Christ’s resurrection.  St. Nick has taken the place of Jesus’ birth.  Even Valentine’s Day was once known as Saint Valentine’s Day.  The secular left takes our religious holidays and turns them into drunken feasts and consumer-driven holidays in hopes of losing the basis of its meaning.  They have done a great job of watering down Christianity in America and we’ve let them.  The attack on Christianity is more than 2000 years old and once we were thrown to the lion’s den and now a den of liars manipulates us.    Do you think it might be time to stand up for Religious Freedom AGAIN? 

With that in mind, today’s Liberty alert is to bring awareness to this administration’s ongoing persecution of Christian’s in America.  Will you stand for this or stand up against this?

This Friday, March 23, 2012  -- Nationwide Rally for Religious Freedom - The Nationwide Rally for Religious Freedom is being held Friday, March 23 at noon, local time, outside federal buildings, Congressional offices and historic sites across the country. The theme for the Rally is “Stand Up for Religious Freedom—Stop the HHS Mandate!”

Thousands of Americans of all faiths will be participating in these peaceful rallies, organized by the Pro-Life Action League and Citizens for a Pro-Life Society to oppose the new mandate from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) that requires all employers provide free contraceptives, sterilization and abortion-inducing drugs through their health plans, even in violation of their consciences.

Religious leaders and other public figures will speak out against the HHS Mandate at each Rally site. Holding signs reading “Stand Up for Religious Freedom” and “Stop the HHS Mandate,” participants will offer hymns and prayers for our nation and pass out literature to the public about why the HHS Mandate is unconstitutional and Un-American.  Join us in Jacksonville, Florida at noon – 300 N Hogan Street in front of the Federal Courthouse.  Bring your signs and stand up for Religious Freedom in America.
