A member of our group has written a letter to his representatives about the United Nations, and the response he received from Senator Rubio is below. I thought it was a good letter which responded well to the member, and I am hoping you will read it as it lets us know where Senator Rubio stands on the UN.
....................................................
Dear Mr. XXXXXXXXXXXXXX,
Thank you for taking the time to contact me to express your opinions regarding the United Nations (U.N.). I am grateful for your thoughts and welcome the opportunity to discuss this issue with you.
The U.N. was created with the specific objective of maintaining peace and security following the end of World War II. The United States is a founding member of the U. N. and one of only five permanent members of the United Nations Security Council. This prestigious position assists the United States in its efforts to spread the stated goals of our foreign policy. More than six decades later, we still need a U.N. with resolve, a U.N. that acts with effectiveness and purpose. Sadly, the U.N.'s persistent ethics and accountability problems are limiting its role.
In response to the problems with the U.N., I have decided to introduce a United Nations Reform Bill (S.1848) that will encourage comprehensive and long-lasting reforms at the U.N. The U.N. needs fundamental reform, and America is the best-suited and greatest hope to facilitate the needed changes that must take place for the organization live up to its founding charter. S.1848 would increase transparency and effectiveness within the U.N. and among other provisions, also prohibit the U.N. from spending U.S. contributions for purposes not approved by the U.S. Congress.
As a member of the Senate Committee on Foreign Relations, I will keep your thoughts and opinions in mind as I push to maintain the United States' leadership in the world. Thank you again for writing to about this important issue. As we move forward, I look forward to addressing the concerns of the people of Florida, and I will continue to work diligently to ensure the United States remains safe and prosperous.
Sincerely,
Marco Rubio United States Senator

I took him at his word about what he would and would not do. Although what he has done in the past at the state level is certainly relevant, what he says also must have some bearing because as we all know, people change their minds on issues. Certainly right now, we are looking at that on a national level :) with both of the presidential candidates.
I think he is most likely sincere, but I tend to agree that the UN has exceeded it's usefulness and did so when they became more populated with wackos than anything else. Right now, we have the less than sane running the asylum. When you have countries like Iran making human rights decisions, you have definitely gone round the bend.................and the whole of it is being funded by us and they want to destroy us or at least have total control over the resources of our country so they can reach in and take what they need to continue! It is nuts.
Political gobble dee gook in my mind. We need to stop funding the UN and get out. They are too far gone when they elevate godesses.
If you're not already aware. This is what's going on in DC while dangerous criminals are allowed back out on the streets. It's horrifying that this is happening to our citizens and veterans for protesting the hijacking of our election process. This is still happening! They are STILL being tortured and treated like full on terrorists.
You may not be aware of the typical things they're forced to go through...…
