PRESS RELEASE FROM FIRST COAST TEA PARTY REGARDING NAACP RESOLUTION

IMMEDIATE PRESS RELEASE STATEMENT

Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world.

Indeed, it’s the only thing that ever has.” ~ Margaret Mead

Jacksonville, FL: July 14, 2010 – In lieu of the resolution passed by the NAACP condemning the Tea Party Movement as racist, the First Coast Tea party sadly releases the following formal statement as we stand up for those involved in this great American movement:

Since the inception of the First Coast Tea Party, the group has been explicit that the Tea Party Movement places no labels on anyone and is open to all who share our mission and want to have a voice in America’s future. In fact, First Coast Tea Party founders felt so strongly that all Americans, regardless of religion, gender and race, should be welcomed into the movement, they made the above statement part of the First Coast Tea Party’s mission, which can be found on the ABOUT page of the www.firstcoastteaparty.org website.

By condemning the Tea Party Movement as racist, with no evidence or formal allegations to back this claim, the NAACP has made it clear they wish to divide rather than unite our country’s citizens. At a time when our communities should join together and find solutions to the problems we face such as massive debt, growing unemployment and the oil spill, the NAACP instead spends their efforts, time and dollars writing resolutions.

We have much to do to Restore the Republic to its founding principles. We invite all who want to unite in this effort to join us as we work together to solve problems, hold our political servants accountable to the Constitution and it’s principles and we make a better world for our children and grandchildren to live in where unity prevails and everyone is proud to call themselves an American citizen.

UPDATE-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

NOTE: After releasing this statement, we were contacted by two local television stations and one has a poll asking if you believe the Tea Party is racist. It would be good for you to take the poll and become a part of the results.

The poll can be found at: http://www.actionnewsjax.com/default.aspx

I think the NAACP needs to ask the Democrats to come forward and speak about their history of race relations. Tell us about the real Sen Byrd, George Wallace, Lester Mattox, David Duke just to name a few famous race tolerant Democrats. Tell us about the slaves holder who railed against a Republican President Lincoln who wanted to free the slaves and bring the country back together and stop the terrible war and lose of life. Tell us about the southern Democrats that voted against the Voting Rights Act including Sen Byrd, who filibustered on the floor for days. Tell us all about the Democrats history of tolerants for black people and then you can condem the Tea Party.

It's absolutely absurd to think that the Tea Party is racist!!

"Racism" is the first word they use,...when threatened by Truth. It's called winning through Intimidation!
No one is more racist than they! When's our next meeting?
Comment by Rebecca Howell on July 15, 2010 at 2:02pm
The numbers are largely in our favor. I doubt it would change. I voted yesterday.

Martin, actually the numbers are better for us today than yesterday (was about 16% thought tea parties were racist yesterday...now it is only about 13%)

Thought it might be time to revisit Lloyd Marcus' tea party song. If you listen you hear him talk about racist remarks. I hunted this up this morning for that reason and have listened to it twice already :). Kind of reminds you the racist thing has been going on for a while, but now they have kicked up a notch!

Martin, it does, but I missed it the first time I went looking for it too. Click on Billie's link, then, carefully scroll down and you will see the words OIL SPILL. If you look down under those words, you will see the poll (it isn't the most obvious poll I have ever seen .... no flashing lights or anything, but it's there :). )

I would just like to invite anyone/everyone to attend a Tea Party and see what they stand for.
Please don't just make assumptions! I appreciate this Press Release.

RYAN NICHOLS - Hardened Criminal?? Seriously??

If you're not already aware. This is what's going on in DC while dangerous criminals are allowed back out on the streets.  It's horrifying that this is happening to our citizens and veterans for protesting the hijacking of our election process. This is still happening! They are STILL being tortured and treated like full on terrorists.

You may not be aware of the typical things they're forced to go through...…
