FCTP members: In a stunning revolt, Miami-Dade County taxpayers have recalled their Mayor who has failed to keep his faith with, and duty to, those who voted him into office. While in office, Mayor Alvarez appears to have lapsed into the go-along, one best way mentality of administering the county government that he was elected to change. Like us, the taxpayers of Miami-Dade County, are fed up with politicians, who, having been elected to serve the people, go forth and do exactly the opposite.

Perhaps the taxpayers of Duval County need to go forth and do what the taxpayers of Miami-Dade County did, with regard to City Council Members who don't listen to them and proceed to treat the public purse (ie. taxpayers' money") as if it is some generic public piggy bank that they can raid, at will, and get the taxpayers to continuously re-fill at their behest. We need to disabuse them of this notion and recall those who can't be convinced of the need for change in the way they do business on our behalf.

And, while we're about it, why not circulate and hand to our City Council members, a completed, taxpayers-signed petition for a rollback of the recent, un-necessary hike in taxes that we tried to stop them from harnessing to the backs of the property owners and taxpayers of Duval County?

Responsible city government is not an option..., it is a requirement.
