RESPECT - We got a little bit, Baby!

Last night CNN hosted the first ever Tea Party debate with Tea Party Express and more than 150 tea party groups across the country.

It was a historic night and the Tea Party Movement was given the respect it deserves.  The staff at CNN did an excellent job!  The people behind the scenes who help those in front of the screens were professional, supportive and patriotic.  Those in front of the screen were too and willingly gave the tea party the microphone for the day.

Tea Party Express has spent nearly a year working with CNN on this debate.  The Florida Tea Party Group leaders helped fill the seats with Florida Tea Party Members.  Tea Party Express never took center stage and instead gave the applause to individual tea party groups nationwide.  Tea Party Express has proven their heart to the tea party groups and earned our respect for their hard work.

The candidates made sure they shook hands with attendees afterwards in the debate hall and at the After Debate Party.  From the conversations at the party, it appears there was no clear front runner but two were crossed off the list.  Huntsman came across as an elite politician and Ron Paul went over the top with blaming America for the 9/11 tragedy.  There will still be the strong Ron Paul supporters who will argue that point – but the tea party members have had enough with Mr. Paul.

Rick Perry took a beating for some of his policies and admitted he made some mistakes along the way.  Mitt still will not admit he was wrong about Romneycare.  The tea party is strong on wanting that apology but it seems we will not get it.  Santorum had a great moment when he called out Ron Paul on his 9/11 stance.  Cain plays the “Godfather” role well and the audience loves his answers.  Newt's one ling zingers are always fun.  Michelle knew more about Obamacare than anyone else on the stage and is adamant about repealing it in 2012.  The tea party stands with her on that issue.

We will be packing up and heading home today.  My feet hurt and we are exhausted.  But the good outweighs the bad.  We are proud of last night.  We hope America and those who called us names we did not deserve, saw who “we the tea” really are.  We are America and we are proud to be a part of this movement.  We will continue to stay together and work together to unseat President Obama and many of his far left friends in Congress.  It is our time now and we will not rest until America is returned to her Constitutional footing once again.

Thank you CNN, Tea Party Express, all the candidates and the tea party members from Florida and across the country.   Respect was the word of the night and it felt good to feel that again.  We will be singing this all the way home today and we hope you will join us in a chorus across America.  Respect.

God bless and safe travels.

@Mrs Pletcher

You make your comment as if voicing our support of the candidate that we believe in is somehow a bad thing because others in the group might disagree with it.  If you picked a candidate and someone said something about that person that you disagreed with I would hope you would stand up and defend that candidate.

If you look next to this conversation in the badge section it says "First Coast Tea Party promotes the principles of our founding fathers and our Constitution" and if that is truly what we stand on Ron Paul exemplifies that more then any other candidate and please explain how his views on 9/11 or our war policy diminish that fact.

If you would like to disagree with a specific point I've made I would be happy to talk about it.

@ Steve,

Ron Paul is a great man who has risked a lot (like his life) by speaking out. I admire that. But, so far, he has not had widespread support with potential voters. I like Herman Cain, his executive experience and his support of the Fairtax. But, he may not have widespread appeal either.

" There will still be the strong Ron Paul supporters who will argue that point – but the tea party members have had enough with Mr. Paul."  You nailed that one Billie and here they are :(

The debate was awsome............and kados to Ted Wendler for his question (and being the first person called on for a question).  Thought CNN did an awsome job and all the candidates got equal billing which was fairer than some of the other events that have taken place.  Only problem I had was after the debate when people weighed in on what was said and what happened as  couple of the folks must have been somewhere else or at least from their accounting of what happened, I thought they were talking about another event :).

Billie, overall a totally awesome event!

For a group that says it believes in freedom and liberty it surprises me that you don't stand behind Ron Paul.  No one candidate is going to be perfect and even if you don't agree with his position on 9/11 no one with an ounce of honest intelligence that has actually studied the subject can say there are not a load of unanswered questions about 9/11 and the official story.  Ron Paul has stood up for all of the things that I thought the tea party stood (limited government, lower government spending, and our Constitution)for his entire career in politics and has not ever wavered in those ideas and principles and for him to be cast aside like that is very disheartening. Our foreign policy is broke and costing us untold dollars and loss of American men and women and needs to be changed not doubled down on.

I will back any candidate on the stage last night if they win because any of them are infinitely better then our current president but Ron Paul is the only one that truly stands for liberty and freedom and always has.

Bachmann nailed Perry with the comments on the HPV vaccine, namely that his chief of staff was Merck lobbyist, and that order was issued to make money for his buddies.  Wow!  Nice one, Michelle.  Rick Perry stumbled a lot last night, and I find that he has difficulty articulating his positions in any real depth.  I thought his position on immigration will hurt him in the primaries.    Bachmann had a strong showing, and Mitt just looks annoyed by Rick Perry standing next to him.  As with Huntsman, I found Romney to be elitist.  While I may not agree with everything Ron Paul has to say, he is consistent, I'll give him that.  He has been preaching the anti-war stuff since 2002, and at least he believes what he says.  I am still very undecided, and I'm glad we have a way to go before the primary.

RYAN NICHOLS - Hardened Criminal?? Seriously??

If you're not already aware. This is what's going on in DC while dangerous criminals are allowed back out on the streets.  It's horrifying that this is happening to our citizens and veterans for protesting the hijacking of our election process. This is still happening! They are STILL being tortured and treated like full on terrorists.

You may not be aware of the typical things they're forced to go through...…
