House Majority Leader Lopez-Cantera Calls on Bill Nelson to Apologize for Politicizing Capture of Osama Bin Laden
Tallahassee, Fla. - Florida House Majority Leader Carlos Lopez-Cantera (R-Miami) issued the following statement regarding a press conference held today by U.S. Senator Bill Nelson, hosted by Members of the House Democrat Caucus. During the press conference, Senator Nelson accused the Florida Legislature of trying to deny the right to vote to those soldiers who aided in the capture and killing of terrorist leader Osama Bin Laden.
"Senator Nelson's tactics amount to nothing more than an outrageous political stunt, motivated solely by his re-election campaign at the expense of our Armed Forces. His disgraceful suggestion that the Florida Legislature would attempt to diminish the voting rights of American heroes is offensive and untruthful, and I demand that Senator Nelson immediately apologize for politicizing what should be a moment of unity for our nation.
"As Americans, we should be celebrating the capture of Osama Bin Laden as a step forward in the war on terror, remembering the thousands of American citizens he killed and those who have lost their lives in the global war on terror. Instead, Senator Nelson is using this American victory as a campaign stunt, and that is deplorable.
"As a U.S. Senator, he should be focused on tackling our failed federal immigration policy, preserving the space coast economy, and pushing back against an administration that is threatening to raise taxes on job creators when Florida is experiencing record high unemployment."

That is just amazing, i am going to use your information and email it to Congress and the Florida Legislation. I am just constantly amazed at how the progressive liberals have been chipping away at our Liberties and Freedoms bit by bit. Thanks J.R. for being so helpful with your input.
It was Bill Clinton who did away with the overseas polling stations for our military to cast their ballots. Then the Democrats proceeded to manipulate the provision of ballots to our military... and then challenge those completed military ballots that were received by the states. There is no reason, in this age of advanced computer technology, that secure polling stations cannot be provided everywhere our military members are stationed. They, of all people, should have their voting rights safeguarded. After all, they are the very ones willing to fight and die for this country and all of their fellow citizens. Their right to vote should never be compromised in any way and no president, or anyone else, has the right to disenfranchise them. Obstruction of their right to vote and have their votes counted is clearly unconstitutional.
J.L. Here are links to Florida's State Legislature. HB 1355 is the House of Representatives bill that is being considered and was debated today. To pass, it has to be approved by both the House and Senate. If both approve it, Gov. Scott then has the option of signing it into law. You can go to these links to search and find any House Bill or Senate Bill before the legislature during this 60 day session that ends, I believe, next week. It began on March 8, 2011. There are still some very important bills yet to be dealt with before the session ends.
J.L., here is a link to the search page that will link you to the information on HB1355 - Elections that was to be debated today:

I don't believe any outside groups should be allowed to register anyone to vote unless they also have an infallible means of certifying the information being provided to the Supervisor of Elections. Look at how A.C.O.R.N. abused that process for years. Now, after so much negative publicity, they have changed names of some of their more than 200 organizations that formerly were under the A.C.O.R.N. umbrella. This is one way elections are stolen.
When someone finds the bill number please post it here, i would appreciate it. This the only statement i can find by Nelson the subject:
Here's what Nelson said: "Should we deny those very military personnel that carried out this very successful decapitating of the Al Qaida snake? Should we deny them because they have signed their voter registration card in a different way than they signed their absentee ballot overseas?"
Why would someone's signature be different? They check my signature against my registered one when i go into vote in person. This sounds like more miss information and people being disingenuous with the truth. My husband talked to a person who has a business and they talked to a man who lived across the street, he was a felon that was now living on the government because he is disabled. He was frustrated telling him that he really wanted to vote in the primary for Jacksonville to give support to Alvin Brown because he is a black man like him. He also said that when President Obama was running that someone approach him to register him to vote. He told them that he can not vote because he is a convicted felon, besides he had no way to get to the polls. The person said don't worry we will register you and provide transportation to the polls so you can vote. They picked him up, gave him a voting card and told him who to vote for and what to do and they paid him for it. So he was able to vote in 2008. He tried calling to find out who was going to pick him up in 2011 and of course they told him no they did not provide that service. This is what is going on and probably where most of most of Brown's money is going to, to pay people to vote and to set them up with voting registration. Our whole voting regiment is perverted. We should just vote on the one day in person, period and then the absentee ballots.
Can someone point out the bill number, and where it is? The only information i can find is:

I can not locate the bill or more information on it. I am not that familiar with myfloridahouse.gov site.
If you're not already aware. This is what's going on in DC while dangerous criminals are allowed back out on the streets. It's horrifying that this is happening to our citizens and veterans for protesting the hijacking of our election process. This is still happening! They are STILL being tortured and treated like full on terrorists.
You may not be aware of the typical things they're forced to go through...…
