WE NEED YOUR INPUT IN THE NEXT 3 HOURS PLEASE

The phones are ringing off the hook for tea party interviews regarding the possible Government shutdown.  This is the biggest news in a long time and they want to hear from us.

We have our opinion and hope to hear yours.

What do you think about this potential shutdown?

I will be on WTLV from 5:30 - 6:00 on a panel discussing this matter.

I would love to share your thoughts with them.

Better to have this partial "shutdown" than to cave and continue spending trillions a year more than we have.  I think it's time that a line has to be drawn.  In reality, even the proposed Republican cuts are a miniscule fraction of the total budget.  And as far as I'm concerned there are huge parts of the federal government I wish were shut down permanently.

Why can't they all just get along for the good of the nation?  I agree with whomever who  said it was like children fussing.  Obama does not and has never cared about we the people or our country.  He has his own agenda and is using our country to facilitate it.  We must get rid of him and those who are backing his way of thinking.  If this is one way to show him he does not have the power, so be it!!!

We need to stand firm.  The Hill still isn't listening to the AMERICAN people!  Principles must stand. Americans will take care of our military and show the Hill how it's suppose to work.

Billie, This shutdown itself is totally the doing of the Democrats ,who said they would not put forth a budget during their reign. Now the GOP is trying to start some drastically needed minor cuts to the budget. These cuts are only the tip of the iceberg that is needed in cuts to preserve this nation. Rep. Ryans plan is a great next step. I am a senior ,who depends on SS and medicare.Worked every year through 65. My Great niece is married to a Marine. They have 3 young children. She asks that people pray that the Military pay is not hel back. If Obama was a man of character he would say that the Military gets paid no matter what. For what these comments are worth they are my feelings. Audrey

[Sort of crossposting]:

This government shutdown threat is nothing more than a smokescreen. Item one for the prosecution: 13 dead Libyan rebels at the hands of NATO, under-reported because media is deflecting attention from Obama's highly questionable engagement in that country.

Besides that, this threat came on the heels of Obama's 2012 campaign declaration--an announcement that created a whisper rather than the roar we heard in 2008. Recent polls show our president losing support among whites, blacks and even the broad disparate group the government calls 'Hispanic.'

The threat of a shutdown is a welcome distraction for a president in water so far above his head he doesn't realize treading water eventually tires you out and it's time to do some swimming.

Billie, please be sure to ask the Democrat panelist WHY THEY DID NOT PASS A BUDGET WHEN THEY HAD COMPLETE CONTROL OF CONGRESS just like they passed the HEALTH CARE BILL without any regards for our concerns.

Also the Republicans have proposed a bill to fund the military SEPARATE fro any other issue. Obama will not approve this idea.

Also I believe the amount the Republicans want to cut is no where close to the amount the Democrats INCREASED the budget as soon as they took power.

Tell the liberals to grow up .  When there is no more money, you simply have to CUT EXPENSES.

We will be watching you.

Good job and good luck,

Derby

The reality is the Democrats are not afraid of the shutdown for a cause of constituency but for the constituency to continue depending on them.  If the shutdown commences for any length of time at all, most will realize that they do not need the government as much as those in government need them.

Laura said it best last night when considering the term "non-essential" the press just can't get off for a talking point detail.  The reality is if they are truly non-essential, what in the hell are we paying them for anyway?  Better yet, why can't someone in the GOP latch onto that and ask the question in that respect?

Put in perspective, "we the people" have suffered so much due to Obama and the Democrats, it's time for them to hear us roar; feel the heat. I want the Republicans to stand firm, that's why the were voted them in and if they forget that, we can vote them out next time round. The irony of all of this is; our military will not get paid, but the president and the Congress will continue getting all of their pay and perks. If the Dems won't back down, they will face their angry constituents in the next election.

Billie,

If a shutdown of the government is the only way to bring the spending under control, then I say Shut It Down.  We must save this Republic for our children and grandchildren.

The congressional democrats are at their intimidation game again.  If we cave now it will weaken the GOP's position regarding future controversial  issues.  My advice to Boehner and his team is to tune out the media and bullying from the democrats and go full steam ahead, stressing of course, the fact that the budget that they wanted could have  easily been passed prior to Jan. '11

RYAN NICHOLS - Hardened Criminal?? Seriously??

If you're not already aware. This is what's going on in DC while dangerous criminals are allowed back out on the streets.  It's horrifying that this is happening to our citizens and veterans for protesting the hijacking of our election process. This is still happening! They are STILL being tortured and treated like full on terrorists.

You may not be aware of the typical things they're forced to go through...…
