WILL YOU TAKE FIVE BABY STEPS FOR LIBERTY TODAY?

Some days I wish I could stay in bed, put the pillow over my head and sleep until a new day dawns in America.  I’ve tried that but I keep waking up to a sun shining through my bedroom window and a voice saying “Get up, you have to get moving and do your part.”

Today is one of those days.

We have so much to talk about and do for our country and if we were a single focus organization, it would make it easier.  We are not.  We are a Liberty-focused organization and everywhere you turn our liberties are being shackled.  Our leaders are laughing at us and they believe the laughter will drown out our concerns.  It will not.

Since we can’t do everything in one day, let’s take these five baby steps to ACT NOW for Liberty today.  It will take you no more than 15 minutes to accomplish all of this.  Can you give 15 to Liberty?  Here’s how:

1.  High Speed Rail in Florida:  A dear friend of mine in the Florida Tea Party Movement, Tom Tillison, had an encounter with Rep. Mica and it was very disturbing.  In one word, Rep. Mica has told the Tea Party – “get over it, I am supporting High Speed Rail, like it or not.”  You can read more about Tom’s encounter with Rep. Mica’s staff here:  http://www.floridapoliticalpress.com/2011/02/16/if-the-tea-party-wa...

  • Action:  From now until a decision is made on the Florida High Speed Rail we need Rep. Mica's phone to ring off the hook. We want his email box to overflow. This attitude with regard to the Tea Party Movement and especially toward our tax dollars cannot be tolerated. Below is his contact information. Just click on the link and then he has links to all his local offices.   More than anything, call Washington and ask for Rep. Mica and if he is not available ask for Mr. Dick Harkon. Let them know exactly how you feel. The fact is this High Speed Rail may be Rep. Mica’s project, but it will be paid for with our tax dollars and we do not want it or cannot pay for it.  It’s not right to continue down a “track” of spending just because it’s his baby project.
  • Action:  Please forward this information to all of your friends across the country. Ask them if they want their tax dollars coming to Florida to build a High Speed Train that will: 1. Never go fast; 2. Never break even; 3. Never have full ridership; 4. Will always suck money from their state. Then please give them Rep. Mica's Washington D.C. information and ask them to pass it on as well.
  • Contact Rep. Mica here:  http://mica.house.gov/Contact/OfficeInformation.htm
  • Action:  Call Governor Scott's office in Tallahassee. Tell them you do not want the High Speed Rail in Florida. Be nice, tell them you will support him in his decision to reject the high speed rail. Just make sure they know you are supporting this decision. Also, let Governor Scott know that you appreciate the fact that he is standing firm and doing exactly what he said he was going to do during the campaign. This man is taking fire from all sides and a kind word or two is always appreciated. Three minutes one time should be enough. (850) 488-7146

2.  Planned Parenthood Supported by $300,000,000 of our Tax Dollars:  The big news this week is the House of Representatives is looking at cost cutting so we can begin a new path of financial security in our country.  During their debates, the funding of Planned Parenthood will be debated.  We have recently learned that our tax dollars were going to fund abortions.  While we are a country of laws and abortion is legal in America, our tax dollars should not fund it.  How you feel about abortion is one thing but using our tax dollars to fund it is another.  In recent weeks, undercover videos of various Planned Parenthood offices shows their staff advising the undercover agent on how to get abortions for young girls brought in from foreign countries illegally.  This is absurd and their funding needs to stop.

3. More Spending Cuts:  ACTION:  Go to Liberty Central.org at https://www.libertycentral.org/update-the-continuing-resolution-and... and sign the petition to encourage our Representatives to stay the course and cut, cut, cut as they go through each amendment this week.  It’s a big job – but somebody has to do it!

4.  Attend this Saturday’s Special Event:  ACTION:  Go to First Coast Tea Party website under events and check out the program “Sacrificed Survivors: The Untold Story of the Ground Zero Mega-Mosque.”  We are honored to host this special event and some of the nation’s largest experts on the Mosque at Ground Zero will be in attendance.  A local survivor of 9/11 will also be with us.  It’s free and educational and we hope you’ll RSVP today and bring a friend with you.  We’ll be there and would love to see you there.   Check it here for more information:  http://www.fctpcommunity.org/events/sacrificed-survivors-the

5.  Donate to your Local Tea PartyACTION:  Local Tea Parties are funded by local members and the month of February has been deemed “Love Your Local Tea Party” month.  All donations are used to fund events, pay for insurance/permits, produce written materials, and pay for small administrative costs.  We work cheap and no salaries are paid to any of our local leaders.  It’s all free, donated work, baby!  If you can help the First Coast Tea Party, please send a check to:  First Coast Tea Party, 11437 Central Parkway, Suite 107, Jacksonville, Florida 32244 or you can donate online at:

http://www.fctpcommunity.org/page/donate-1

It’s all the little steps we make that will secure the big picture – Liberty in America.  Help us today by taking 15 minutes and doing your part.

And, if you want to spend less than 2 minutes more, listen to this great analogy by Herman Cain about the Stupid People who are Ruining America.  Watch here for a good laugh at the other side:

Here is a link to a posting about the hatchet job on U.S. Rep. Darryl Issa begun by Democrats in order to smear, discredit, and destroy Rep. Issa's credibility, as I mentioned in my comment just below this one.

The link is not activating for some reason, but you can highlight it, then copy or cut and paste it into the url address line on your toolbar. It is a link to Politico that was included in an article I received from Newsmax. It very well explains what Republicans are up against if they investigate the Obama administration's what are believed to be violations of the Constitution and the rights of all Americans. The Democrat long knives are already out for Rep. Issa and Rep. Michelle Bachman... and apparently anyone else who gets in the Obama administration's way or exposes their and the prior Democrat-controlled Congress' wrongdoings. It would be helpful to come out in support of Rep. Issa and let him know we approve of what he is doing and appreciate his willingness to brave the repercussions that come with the territory in this political Congress. Same for Rep. Bachman who founded the Republican-approved Tea Party Caucus in the U.S. House of Representatives. I'm sure they already well know what the heat feels like that Gov. Rick Scott became subjected to today when he nixed high-speed rail for Florida. Of course, we all know it will get worse before it gets better.

By the way, as for the folks in "Tally" getting involved in this dust-up over Gov. Rick Scott's refusing to allow the high-speed rail project to go forward, we know that the Nov., 2010 election gave Republicans a majority in both houses of the FL Legislature, so any bill introduced to force acceptance of the money and going forward with the high-speed rail project are unlikely to pass, and if they did, they would still have to be signed by Gov. Scott.  The Democrats and their co-opted Ray LaHood RINO just want to dirty Rick up and send the hounds of hell after him.  That's what they do.  It's called the politics of personal destruction and it grew out of the Democrat war room in the Bill Clinton White House, where the DNC was given access to use the White House database for their fund raising.  They even admitted just this week that they are doing this slash and burn technique of theirs to tarnish and ruin the credibility of Rep. Darryl Issa, who is the head of a committee in the U.S. House of Representatives that will be investigating actions of the Obama administration.  Apparently this sleazy method of destroying any conservative who is a threat to them in any way has now become standard policy for the Democrat Party.  Notice I didn't say "Democratic" Party.  The word "democratic" is an adjective and there is nothing democratic about the evolving Democrat Socialist Party, of which Sen. Bill Nelson is a card-carrying member.

Oh and maybe we need to suggest to Gov. Scott to dump the Spanish recording on his answering machine. This is America after all :)

Senator Nelson was only elected to a national office, the U.S. Senate.  Same goes for Ray LaHood only being elected to a national office.  Where do they get off trying to undermine and manipulate to override an executive decision by Governor Scott, the Chief Executive of the State of Florida?  They neither one have the delegated or enumerated power to force this on Florida and neither do the various departments of the federal government.  The U.S. House of Representatives can simply refuse to fund the project.  And, since all money bills are required to originate in the House of Representatives, that stops it dead in its tracks.  Neither do they have to fund spending of any of the rest of the stimulus money and can refuse to raise the debt ceiling.  The Republicans have a 245 member majority in the House and it only takes 212 of them to vote to deny funding for anything.

Neither is Obama empowered to override the decision of the Governor of a sovereign state.  And, last I heard, our great state hasn't given up its sovereignty and it never will.  These unconstitutional maneuvers by powerful has-beens with one foot out the door need to be labled for exactly what they are---spoiled brat, entitlement-minded temper tantrums and probably not wanting to give up whatever they traded off to get the boondoggle high speed rail in the first place.

Rick Scott needs to hear from all of us that we support his decision 100% and we will stand by him every inch of the way.  I'm sure he knew he would be stirring up a hornet's nest when he announced his decision and I'm also sure he has the true grit necessary to stand up to the power-hungry establishment politicians in Washington, DC.  We need to kick off a high profile campaign to DUMP BILL NELSON and let him know that he is not the Governor of Florida, he does not run our state, and he needs to butt out.

Oh we will work on that petition about Bill Nelson - it's called the ballot box! I predict he is GONE next election. The Times-Union has already published stories several times now about how Bill Nelson has a comfortable lead over ANY candidate who runs against him. That means just the opposite - it means he is vulnerable and his buddies in the media are trying to shore him up. The tail is wagging the dog, so to speak. Bill Nelson certainly needs to go next election.

Perhaps it is time to start a petition to try to get rid of Bill Nelson.  He is certainly no longer working for the State of Florida or it's people????

Marco Rubio just came out on the side of Governor Scott.

Just heard the Gov. Scott is getting hammered by the left and many in Tally who want to keep the money.

Make sure you contact Gov. Scott and tell him THANK YOU!!

Democrat Nelson looks to sidestep Scott’s refusal of U.S. rail money

by George Bennett | February 16th, 2011

WASHINGTON — Democratic Sen. Bill Nelson said he talked with Transportation Second. Ray Lahood this afternoon about financing the Tampa-Orlando rail project without the state government’s participation.

“We are exploring with the Secretary of Transportationan Ray LaHood, how we could keep this project going forward since the state of Florida will not participate. We have the lawyers researching it,” Nelson told The Palm Beach Post.

Nelson’s action was in reaction to Gov. Rick Scott announcing this morning that he’s rejecting $2.4 billion in federal stimulus money from President Obama’s administration for a high-speed rail project from Orlando to Tampa.

NOTE:

Earlier today, LaHood and Nelson held a call with the Florida delegation and told the delegation they would attempt to exploit the language in the stimulus bill to allow the Feds to send money to the counties and cities and allow them to go forward with the high speed rail project and bypass the governor. Another call is scheduled for next week.

CONTACT BILL NELSON AND TELL HIM TO BACK OFF!  Our Governor represents our views and we support this decision.

RYAN NICHOLS - Hardened Criminal?? Seriously??

If you're not already aware. This is what's going on in DC while dangerous criminals are allowed back out on the streets.  It's horrifying that this is happening to our citizens and veterans for protesting the hijacking of our election process. This is still happening! They are STILL being tortured and treated like full on terrorists.

You may not be aware of the typical things they're forced to go through...…
