Politico: House votes to expand drilling, approve Keystone XL

This is probably going to be a fight all the way, but I am glad to see the congress taking it on.   It is a fight worth having and hopefully, the congress will prevail in this matter, since Obama voted "not present" on it.

House lawmakers on Thursday approved a plan to authorize the Keystone XL pipeline and expand drilling offshore and in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge.

The 237-187 victory for Republican leaders — as part of one portion…

Fox Nation: New CBO Report Decimates 'Obamanomics': Real Unemployment Hits 15%

This should be a real eye opener.  The CBO report should be on every news channel, but I suspect you won't see it or what it indicates.  I have provided a link to the report, and to better understand unemployment, if you have time, you might read it through (it isn't all that long or complicated).

The rate of unemployment in the United States has exceeded 8 percent since February 2009, making the past three years the longest stretch…

TU: Mayor Alvin Brown's office releases details of travel expenses

Actually, the mayor is better off letting folks know who paid and what was paid before it is asked for..........it stops people from imagining something is happening that isn't, and as the mayor indicted, it is transparency!

Outside organizations picked up the cost of hotel rooms and flights.

TU: ACTION NEEDED? Bill would let parents 'trigger' public schools to private firms

This is something that may well be worth taking some action on as I remember Ms Rhee being called in by Governor Scott.  The bill number is included, and it is still in committee, so you have an opportunity to read the bill and weigh in should you choose to do so.

TU: Duval, St. Johns superintendents scoff at proposed changes to school grading system

This one I won't make a judgement call on as I don't have children in school, but it somehow doesn't sound like a good way to do things to me either.  Better be aware this may be what they have to do in the future though.

St. Johns' Joyner calls some proposals "outrageous" and "dumb."

TU: City wants Jacksonville firefighters to take bigger cut or agree to quicker deal

I am afraid I have to agree with one of the comments on this story.  We ask these folks to take pay cut after pay cut while giving millions to the banks and the Jaquars (plus we don't hold them to the things they are supposed to pay for and the taxpayers end up footing the bill).   These guys at least provide a city service and this somehow just does not seem right???

1 percent pay cut, union told, or end talks…

TU: 3 lose jobs at JTA after T-U investigation shows problems with bus driver hiring

I heard something about this on the radio this morning, and sure enough, the TU also has info about it.  How does someone with a violent crime record or drunk driving or multiple driving infractions stay on as a JTA bus driver?   This is not evidence of anyone doing a good job choosing and checking backgrounds of potential hires or even for those who currently are employed by JTA.  No one who has a history of violent behavior should be driving a city bus!  Please read the article…

Organic Consumers Assoc.: Ten Ways Monsanto and Big Ag Are Trying to Kill You - And the Planet

And Obama wants to put Monsanto in charge of the FDA.  Not exactly a comforting thought, but even worse is the fact this president is doing what is good for America, he is doing what is good for his friends at Monsanto (and one wonders how much they donate to his campaign and past campaigns).

CNS News: Obama Wants to Restore U.S. Funding for UNESCO, After It Admitted ‘Palestine’

I guess every time I read one of these articles about funding our enemies, I wonder what we will use for money since we are borrowing money to keep all the Obama programs going in this country.........maybe borrow more money to give it away to our enemies????

Godfather Politics: Obama Pushes Global Tax

If you can't say anything else about Obama it is certainly that his theme song is TAX, TAX, TAX, TAX.  Here we go again out there trying to make sure moving to another state won't be helping anyone's tax situation.  Now he wants level taxes coming from all the states too!  As well as leveling the affluence of everyone, so he can continue to SPEND, SPEND, SPEND AND SPEND SOME MORE!

Pittsburg Tribune: An economy drowning in Obama's 'fairness'

I am glad to see that some reporters are still grounded  and still have thier common sense in tact :).

"If you make more than $1 million a year, you should not pay less than 30 percent in taxes," asserted President Obama in his State of the Union speech.

That would effectively double the tax rate on income from capital gains from the current 15 percent rate, producing a triple negative impact on U.S. economic growth and job creation by…

UPI: Pledge of Allegiance trial costs schools

For those who were not aware this case was in the works, I thought you might like to see what a family of 5 wants done just for them cause they are atheists.  If this flies, the minority of this country really is ruling the roost (never mind we are a Christian country, never mind that they do not understand the majority of us are not atheists, never mind these folks are trying to create a situation where they can make their children into non-believers and ask the rest of us to…

DETAILS: Glenn to kick off “We are all Catholics now” movement

This is very important, because of the attack on our first amendment right to freedom of religion because of the Obama administration's blatantly defiant stand on birth control which violates the religious beliefs and is a mortal sin for many Christians in our country.

HERE IS THE FIRST AMENDMENT:  Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of…

Rasmussen: Florida Senate: Mack (R) 41%, Nelson (D) 41%

TU: Jacksonville City Council blocks JEA pay raises

After asking our fine police and firemen to accept a 3% pay cut, passing these bills would not have been appropriate, so I, personally, am glad they chose to block these pay raises.  I am apparently not the only one who felt that was as some of our city council members voiced the same concern, so common sense seems to have prevailed.

RYAN NICHOLS - Hardened Criminal?? Seriously??

If you're not already aware. This is what's going on in DC while dangerous criminals are allowed back out on the streets.  It's horrifying that this is happening to our citizens and veterans for protesting the hijacking of our election process. This is still happening! They are STILL being tortured and treated like full on terrorists.

You may not be aware of the typical things they're forced to go through...…
