TU: Overdue city grant on its way to Jacksonville Cultural Council

I am hard pressed to understand why the city subsidizes many of the other things they do when we can't even cover city services with tax dollars and expect people to pay extra for the primary function of city government.  This is nothing more than our local government picking winners and losers just like the federal government does with our tax dollars (and none to carefully either I might add).  If you leave it alone, the people will chose those entities they wish to have…

Daily Mail OnLine: Well hello Michelle! Agent Provocateur sales boosted by 'First Lady's $50,000 shopping spree' at lingerie boutique

Nice to know Michelle Obama is pumping money into the economy..........but it isn't the US economy which seems to run in the Obama family.

Newsmax: InsiderAdvantage Poll: Gingrich Surging, Race 'Tighter Than Expected'

This is quite interesting for those of you following who is where on the polls.  The Email popped into my box right after I posted the Times Union article about this same subject, and they appear to be at divergent ends of the spectrum.  In any case, the majority of people are splitting their votes among the conservatives which may still give Romney the win..............but may not.  This will require careful watching!

TU: Jacksonville developers tired of delays, object to new regulations

New regulations are having the impact on us locally as this article in the Times Union indicates, and now they are trying to change the rules right in the middle of things after some of these folks have invested money.  This is exactly what might be expected of folks who have never run a business or had a job anywhere.  They think you can do something like this, and people who own and run businesses will just take a hit and come back for more.

TU: More Florida polls equal more bad news for Newt Gingrich

Interesting as conservatives are in the lead when you combine the 3 conservative candidates polling numbers, they are 1 point higher than Romney's polling number on at least one poll, but because the vote is split, we will end up with the establishment pick, and we can all hold our noses when November rolls around!  Let's hope Mr. Romney isn't pulling an Obama on us and lying about where he stands on the issues to get elected.

CNS News: U.S. Gov't Agency Plans $2.84 Billion Loan for Oil Refinery—In Colombia

And you thought Obama wasn't encouraging job creation?  He is.  Just not in the United States.  He can be very helpful to other countries and pump our money into their countries to help encourage job creation, but then, he denies approval on the pipeline here when it would have created many, many jobs and had a spin off effect as well.

President Obama Wants to Help the Little Guys—Especially If They’re Named Boone Pickens and George Soros

The Boonedoggle bill was introduced in the House last April and quickly gained 186 co-sponsors, including around 80 Republicans. A number of free market and conservative groups sent a joint letter to Congress opposing the bill, which has convinced 19 Republicans to withdraw as co-sponsors. This means that the Pickens Payoff Plan has very little chance of passing the House as a sepa...rate bill. However, President Obama’s…

Times 24/7: 2011 GDP: A 'final, pathetic' 1.7 percent

The title of this article kind of says it all.  And Obama keeps saying how great the economy is and how he has built it to last.  Last until when, we declare bankrupcy as a country and end up like Greece as he continues to spend money we don't have???

TU: Pension trustee complaint headed to state ethics panel

Thank you Curtis for bringing this to the forefront!  Hopefully, it will bring about change to the good of the taxpayers of Duval County who are getting the shaft royally by the current situation.  And note, please, Mr. Sleiman has not uttered one word of apology............only criticized Mr. Lee who brought this information to the forefront.  Without Mr. Lee, we would not have heard a word about it from the Times Union or anyone else.

TU: Amid Republican excitement, study says Florida millennials not engaged

This may be an area where our focus to register voters may need to go.  I suspect if this is actually true, we might get the school to let us set up a table for the purpose of giving out the registration forms along with a postage paid, addressed envelope????  Certainly worth thinking about.

Study says ages 18-29 in Florida have lowest civic activity in U.S., but some say social media counts,…

Newsmax: Cain Endorses Gingrich for President

When I read this, I was well reminded about the events that led up to Herman withdrawing from the presidential race.  This has been the nastiest race I can remember in a very long time, and to think someone who has used half truths, false statements and gutter fighting is probably going to win the nomination to be the republican candidate.  I know the democrats did the exact same thing last time, but I always believe someone can win running on their plan for the country without…

Newsmax: Rev. Wildmon: Palin Is Right, Newt Being 'Crucified'

Interesting.  Three of us from the Arlington group walked a neighborhood today trying to get republicans out to vote in the primary, and what Romney is doing to Gingrich (and the false statements he is making to smear Gingrich) has turned off some voters.  One of the houses I went to, the woman said she had planned to vote for Romney, but because of all the negative stuff Romney is doing, she plans to sit out the primary and the election.  She does not want a president who is…

Newsmax: Mark Levin: Gingrich Is Strong Conservative

There is more information out there in relation to Reagan, and Mark Levin, who is not a rabid Gingrich man, has made comments supporting Gingrich, because he understands the negative information is coming from Romney and his supporters.  So I guess it is "do as I say but not as I do" as far as Romney is concerned since he is fabricating stories.

RYAN NICHOLS - Hardened Criminal?? Seriously??

If you're not already aware. This is what's going on in DC while dangerous criminals are allowed back out on the streets.  It's horrifying that this is happening to our citizens and veterans for protesting the hijacking of our election process. This is still happening! They are STILL being tortured and treated like full on terrorists.

You may not be aware of the typical things they're forced to go through...…
