NY's Proposed Millionaire Tax Increase and Why it's a Horrible Idea

Well, it seems as though the political leaders in NY really hate their state. They are trying their hardest to drive out anyone who is successful. What am I talking about? Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver has just recently proposed another increase in the “millionaire’s tax” from 8.97% to 9.97% which is an 11% increase. According to the NY Post, the top 1% of wage…

Info sent on HR3936 is incorrect. It is Senate Bill 3157 not the House Bill sponsored by a Democrat that

looks to bail out the pension funds. The Senate bill looks to offer "bail out", the House Bill HR3936 actually holds the Pension Plans accountable to keep the plans afloat and restricts tax dollar bail out. See http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/thomas . You may enter both House and Senate bill to do your own research.

Opinion Poll on Party endorsements

The Clay Republican Party will be voting whether to endorse one of two candidate for county commission. I am curious as to what tea party members think of party endorsements.

Does a party endorsement:

Make you more likely to vote for the endorsed candidate?

Less likely to vote for the endorsed candidate?

Doesn't affect your decision?

Big Oil Bailout

Current federal law limits the liability of companies responsible for an

oil spill. The guilty party has to cover the cleanup, but as far

compensating those harmed by the spill -- such as fishermen and property

owners -- the companies are on the hook only for the first $75 million.

The rest of the compensation comes from a special federal account, funded by an 8-cent tax on every barrel of oil produced in the United

States or imported here (you the… Continue

Cap and Trade: A Layman's Perspective

The United States Senate recently introduced the Clean Energy Jobs and American Power Act, or Senate bill S-1733. This proposed law is the result of a few scientific observations and much speculation: what is better known as the theory of global warming. This theory purports that human-produced CO2 is responsible for increases in global temperatures, and further speculates that the…

Stories of American heroes and the liberal media.

Accounts of American valor are dismissed by the press as propaganda, yet accounts of American difficulties are heralded as objectivity. It makes you wonder if the role of the media is to inform or to depress - to report or to deride. To tell the truth or to feed us lies.…

Will Amnesty Save or Destroy Social Security and.....

A recent Rasmussen Reports survey revealed that voters remain concerned about Social Security and whether the system can deliver what the government has promised. According to the survey, 58% of U.S.

voters lack confidence that the Social Security system will pay them

their future benefits.

Advocates for amnesty for millions of illegal immigrants like to claim that amnesty will "save" Social Security. They also claim that dramatically increased immigration…

Kagan Argued for Government 'Redistribution of Speech'

Now we know why Obama wants her on the Court:

Supreme Court nominee Elena Kagan said the high court should be focused on ferreting out improper governmental motives when deciding First Amendment cases, arguing that the government’s reasons for restricting free speech were what mattered most and not necessarily the effect of those restrictions on speech.

Kagan constructed a complex framework that can be used by the Court to determine whether or not Congress has restricted… Continue
